Accidently dropped and it was run over by car. It did not survive

I will never use a different protective phone case. I’ve had Lifeproof cases for years on my iPhones and will continue to buy. I’ve had my 8 Plus for about a year and this case has been through it. I’ve dropped my phone countless times (hence the case!), had it stepped on by a client wearing boots, had hot coffee spilled all over it, and just recently had to pull it out of my beagle’s mouth after she stole it off the table. After all this, my phone remains in perfect condition. The case, well, I’m replacing it with another Lifeproof Fre without the bite marks. 100% worth the money.

I used to be diehard LifeProof (LP) and would promote them to anyone I had the chance to. Not anymore, I am sooo disappointed that they’re refusing to admit their mistakes, fix them and keep their good name. The LP fre in my iPhone 5 lasted 2-3 years through absolute H3||! I am outdoors anytime I’m not working and my job is outdoors, dirty and physically intensive so when finally got an iPhone 8 paid out of pocket $800+ I had no problem paying a premium price ($75+) for what I thought was a top quality case only to find out later that LP was bought by otter box (Otbox are trash but diff story) and they truly SOLD OUT. I’ll list cons/defects first since reviews like these are warnings. -Muffled microphone, opening charge port door helps a little -tested case without phone in thank god, charge port door and side seal both NOT WATERTIGHT! -screen protector plastic developed severe scratches from being in pocket with other loose items after only 1-2 months- took my old Fre case 1+ year same pocket wear n tear to develop that level of scratches -plastic housing doesn’t seem as durable as before, thinner cheaper material -BIGGEST DEFECT/NAIL IN COFFIN- HOME BUTTON/fingerprint scanner WILL STOP WORKING WITHIN WEEKS. I’ve programmed 3 variations of thumb in, kept charge door closed, cleaned inside and out over and over again but the backing they put inside case is a thin horizontal line of foam and for some reason they placed ONE line on top half of case but not bottom so the phone sits In there at a slant (imagine a pillow unde phones head) so the bottom half of fingerprint scanner doesn’t even touch the cases screen protector. At first you’ll just press harder and it’ll read but the dirt and grime that is allowed between the screen and protector will eventually block its ability to read. You’ll open case, clean it only to be doing it again a week or two later. Each time increasing chances your phone will get damamged or scratched. It is beyond frustrating, and I wouldn’t be mad if I didn’t pay close to a hundred dollars for the best case I could find especially when this obvious manufacturers defect is so easily engineered away! I did call the LifeProof 1800 # and their customer service rep was a sweetheart but she said that she had never heard of this issue. I find that very hard to believe and almost wonder if she was trained not to admit fault. I just want a case that works I’m to the point now where I am experimenting with thin foam material I found, trying to even out backing so it will sit flush. I want LifeProof to be the best, I’m embarrassed I ever told anyone to buy their cases bc I’ve advised at least 70-100 different people, strangers friends and even family and I pride myself on knowing what quality products are. So if you want a case that looks cool, has decent protection and some water/dirt resistance it’s not a bad case but you can definitely find its equal for MUCH LESS MONEY. they can claim that’s the price point needed to retain a quality product but what’s quality about it? The screen protector is def not what it used to be and they can’t even engineer an even backing to ensure it sits flush??? I HOPE THEY IMPROVE IN FUTURE YEARS BUT AS FOR NOW, DO NOT BUY THIS CASE PLEASEEEEE

I purchased this case and was hesitant about the water test as when I closed the case there was a little gap. You could squeeze the case and actually see the gap close. With some hesitation I attempted the water test. After the 30 minutes I opened the case and to my surprise not a drop of water got inside of the case. Case seems well built and I am not worried about dropping my phone because I truly believe that it would be protected.

Daughter needed a life proof case and we had to hunt this one down. It protects her phone great and is also water resistant.

These cases have gotten so much better since Otter bought them out. I have nothing bad to say about this case. Works great!

Life proof is the beast case on the planet. My phone did 30 minutes in a front load washing machine without any damage. If there is a weakness it is in the charging door, but if you are just careful it’s fine. I buy nothing but life proof.

Bought this for my husband because he didn’t like how bulky the otter box was. Bought it Friday at Best Buy in Indiana. The next Thursday (today), the screen has a crack in it. Doesn’t give me confidence in Life Proof. Glad I didn’t buy one for myself too. The phone was not dropped so I don’t know how it got cracked in less than 7 days.

I can not access silent mode-on/off with the case on!!

Looks like all the other LifeProof cases I've had (same model), but packaging was not very secure and did not come with a user manual, warranty slip, or a serial number inside the case. Every other LifeProof case I've had has had a little serial number sticker inside the case. Did I end up with a fake?

I have been using the Lifeproof case on my previous 2 iPhones, and I absolutely love it, it resists drops, whater damage and scratches, but unfortunately, this one I bought came with the lid for the charger loose, and I just can’t close it well, and I feel it won’t be able to hold water in case of submersion. But other than that the case is good

There were so many mixed reviews on this case, there would lots of good so I thought I would give it a try. It is tough and durable, but like a saw a few other people have issues with, I cannot hear people. I have to have it on speaker, or I cannot hear anything. That is a major downfall, so it looks like I will have to pick another case.

It looks and feels fine. So perhaps this is good for use in extreme conditions. But the screen is unresponsive. It takes a hard push, sometimes more than once, to type out messages, and often pushes the wrong letter.

My wife drop my iPhone 8 on carpet in the living room and the back of the phone is cracked. So $80 for this case is too much if does not protect against falls.

Bought this case a couple of years ago and was so happy with it. Now, out of the blue, the plastic housing around the charge port started shredding off and now the door won't close at all. No damage or rough handling by me. Very disappointing.
