We apologize that the FRĒ series didn't end up working out for your boyfriend! True, we normally don't recommend using a separate, tempered glass screen protector underneath the built-in screen protector on the FRĒ. Doing so can cause fit issues, as you described, or decrease touch sensitivity with the screen. Additionally, we do not test our products with third-party accessories, so unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee 100% compatibility with any accessory made by another company.
