Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Given that the phone within this case is, by far the most expensive phone I have ever owned, and probably will ever own, I did a lot of research on cases before finally deciding on the Lifeproof Slam. I've never owned a Lifeproof case before either, because they were always too bulky in my mind, and I wasn't one who was out skiing, or doing extreme water sports. But this case isn't designed for folks with active outdoor lifestyles. It's a case that's more on the slim side (check), clear back so you can still see that expensive phone you just bought (check), provides great lip protection on the front should you drop it (check), doesn't bulk the phone up very much (check), and there's no muffled speakers or mic, since the ports aren't covered. It feels sturdy in the hand, and I have a good feeling that should this phone that costs more than my monthly rent happens to fall out of my hands, it's safely protected in this case. I just wouldn't want to make a habit of dropping it. And I had no problems whatsoever taking the case apart and putting it back together. Keep in mind this is a two-piece case. You need to use the tool they include to take it apart. I then put it on my key ring so I'll always have it around. And when putting it back together after putting the phone in, it's crucial to make sure you snap each and every bit of the case back together to ensure it's snug, and holding the phone tight.
