Good not spectacular, but still a solid sci-fi
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like I've told my friends, if you've watched alot of movies, this seems EXTREMELY derivative. Especially of the Butterfly Effect. Its basically the scifi version of The Butterfly Effect. However, that being said, if you're a fan of the Butterfly Effect, this could be for you. While not as in depth as the Butterfly Effect (especially the deleted ending originally envisioned by the writer) still a solid movie. Not a thinking person's movie, this is still a sold popcorn flick to watch on a Saturday night. Great special effects, good acting. Hope you enjoy!!

great action movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i don't think it's deliberate, but it's a kick (for me, anyway) that the film topsy-turvies those glib early roles Tom Cruise used to play. This is a fantastic character arc for him. Cruise is Major William Cage, smug face of U.S. Army media relations. He's more of a corporate soldier, but the factoring element is that he's a craven corporate soldier. His only combat experience consists of a stint at R.O.T.C. while in college. Cage talks the talk, would rather not walk the walk.

4.99 steal this good movie
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.had been delaying to buy, 8 years, what a nice movie, nice ground hog day reincarnation, but with more money and special effects, some humor, and a nice plot and so so love story, I think most of his movies are high action, with watching, over and over again.

Some hassle but made right
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First movie that came in did not state anywhere on it that it had the DVD or Digital Download but did contain all three as stated online. I had to return to the store due to damaged packaging. They exchanged damaged movie for a new one at the store (Again, did not state anywhere on it that it had the DVD or Digital Download) but when opened it only contained the DVD and Blu-ray, not the Digital Download. Manager was really nice and upgraded me to the 3D version that had DVD, Blu-ray, 3D, and Digital download.

Underrated Sci Fi Action Adventure at it's finest!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The marketing campaign really sunk this film at the box office, but it's actually one of Cruise's (and the year's) Best ! Based on a Japanese Manga Comic, Cruise shares the screen with the ever-enigmatic and attractive Emily Blunt (she could swing my helicopter blade anytime) as near-future-troopers fighting, along with the rest of the world, an alien invasion. Original and captivating, who says everything is a remake anymore! Give this one a try, you'll like it! Promise!

Really cool flick to watch
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you’re like me and you’ve spent tons of times searching for the right film to watch for the night but you don’t want to go too serious too romantic or too scary or even to academy award range look no further! It definitely a Tom Cruise movie and he doesn’t disappoint in this film. The story is cool and the entire film doesn’t lag could be a sequel in the making but we’ll have to see!

Did not like on first viewing; 2nd time we dug it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's Science Fiction, remember that. The first half of movie, they go back in time, and repeat the same actions over and over. But by the second half, it develops a pattern that you can connect with, and you end up liking it and, want to see it again! The beginning is funny in that we've never seen Tom Cruise in a role where he's not supremely confident, even cocky. In the early part of movie, he is bewildered, out of his element, and lost, and he does it well!

Good Movie, Wish There Was More
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Enjoyed the show, but was looking for more to be wrapped up at the end. I wasn't quite done with the show when the credits started rolling.

Alien D-Day
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This going to be a classic. It has everything you want in a movie: action galore; humor; great acting; a little romance; wonderful direction and production values second to none. Despite horrible marketing of this great and very watchable movie, it is still going to be a solid success around the world. The character grows a little each day until he finally becomes able to see what he needs to be and what needs to be done to save the world from the alien invasion

The BEST FILM of 2014!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll admit it, I'm a Tom Cruise fan. He's not the greatest actor in the world, but his films are always entertaining (not counting some of his early films). This movie is no exception! It's action packed, entertaining, and well written. I HIGHLY recommend it to any sci-fi fan! My only complain is that they are attempting to rename "The Edge of Tomorrow" to "Live Die Repeat". The package makes it look like that is the film's name, but it really isn't.

Smart sci-fi that will kick your butt
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tom Cruise can do anything. Here he is a less than admirable character who manages to do the right thing almost despite himself. Emily Blunt has never been sexier/scarier, and I mean that in a good way. With little introduction as to the world these characters are in, you are immediately THERE and involved. The overused and tricky time travel plot device is handled really well. Finally a sci-fi movie that doesn't make you frustrated by its failings.

Great Movie!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a great Sci-fi movie with the same basic premise as Groundhog Day. Unfortunately, it was marketed horribly and did terrible in theaters. Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt are great in this action flick. It has comedy, drama, action, and great practical special effects. All the mech-suits they wear in the movie were actually worn in real life! They really did build those suits and the actors ran around in them. This movie is worth a purchase.

3d enhances an already great movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While this an American adaptation of a Japanese book and has some major changes, but that aside it has some really awesome elements that make this an entertaining movie. It is a typical Tom Cruise movie, no real difference anymore in his movies like Denzel Washington, but that makes them enjoyable going into it. The 3D is great, not as popping as the Hobbit series or the Avengers 3D, but definitely better than some of the latest they slap together. If you saw Oblivion and liked it, this one is better.

A Surprisingly Good Movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Movies like this are always a gamble. I hadn't seen it at the theatre or read any reviews on it. However, my children and I all absolutely loved it. This movie has range...from fantastic sci-fi scenes to comedy to light romance, and I feel they blended it all together very well. It was a very entertaining experience and we'll be watching it again soon.

Great 3D Future War Movie with a Time Twist.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In this movie Tom Cruise's character is reluctantly thrust into the front lines of a future war with aliens and advanced weapons technology on both sides. The twist is that when his character dies, because of the alien's power, he is brought back in time to relive the events that led up to his death with an opportunity to change the future. Like Ground Day, multiple chances to get it right. Very enjoyable with a cool ending.

Fresh action thriller
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this movie before I saw it because friends had highly recommended it, and I was not disappointed. Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt demonstrate their potent acting skills and have good chemistry on screen. They make use of the repetition premise with wit and humor and manage to steer clear of becoming monotonous, a very easy pit to fall in with a premise like this. The movie also makes great use of 3D, and it was worth the buy.

Very underrated movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I saw this one in the theater and loved it. A lot people didn't care to see this one because they didnt know what it was. They totally missed out. The studio actually ended up rebranding the dvd and bluray release as "live die repeat: edge of tomorrow" because people didn't notice the movies release the first time. I think marketing is probably to blame for that one. I was happy to add this one to my collection.

Good 3D Movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am building a collection of good 3D movies and all of these qualify. This group includes: Live-Die-Repeat (not really a Tom Cruze fan but a good show), Point Break (not much of a plot but great stunts and cinematography), Mad Max Fury Road (Lots of inane action), Life of Pi (had this in 2D, 3D brings it to life), Exodus Gods-and-Kings (a novel retelling of the biblical classic), X-Men Days of Future Past (a nice addition to this sci-fi franchise).

Witty Tom Cruise's Sci Fi Action
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The movie is funny and action-packed, but sometimes repetitive (given that is the plot's drive). The special effects and production designs are top notched. The CGI aliens are not ground breaking though. The Bestbuy exclusive has a bonus blu ray disk which covers a little more of the movie's behind the scenes. More like an expanded summary, but not a must have. The main feature blu ray offers excellent video and DTS 7.1 soundtrack along with decent extras. A good buy for sci-fi action fans.

You Must Own This Sci Fi Gem!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Largely ignored upon its theatrical release, Live Die Repeat is one of those sleeper titles that grew in popularity in the home video department. If you're a Tom Cruise detractor, don't worry; he is perfect in the role of military deserter who is forced to live an alien war over and over. The 3D is spectacular, almost demo-level worthy. Highly recommended as a must-own title.
