Groundhog Day meets Independence Day. A creative sci-fi that always keeps momentum and never lets up. For a sci-fi action movie, this is a great movie. If you're looking for quite a story, this is it. If you're looking for depth, I wouldn't expect it. This is a thrill ride kind of movie, and Bestbuy had it for a nominal price so I added to my collection! The movie lacks character development (a relatively short movie). For stars with acting chops, I would have loved for the movie to expend some energy in character development. Otherwise, the movie stands well on itself.

This movie is interesting in that you have to keep your eye on what happens very carefully to make sure you know what is going on. It's an interesting movie.

Best Buy does not sell this specific disc set in their store (at least the one I picked up at). I ordered it online for pickup and they brought the wrong disc set. The only one we could find that included everything in the description above was a disc set that also included a 3D bluray. The manager was very nice and apologized for the mistake and then replaced my order with the upgraded set. I am more than happy he did that (which is tremendous customer service) but I wish Best Buy actually stocked the proper movie set so this didn't have to happen.

Man, I like this film!!! Lots of action… Surround is awesome… Fine grain on film… Cruise and Blunt give solid performances… Repeat and repeat. This story and film style might annoy some. But if you liked ‘Groundhog Day’, and like good action, then there’s a significant chance you’ll make through the film feeling rewarded.

I saw this movie in theaters and always wanted to view it in 3D. Even though there are no popout effects or jaw dropping moments, I enjoyed the 3D experience over the 2D version. The movie itself, is really good, Tom Cruise is always spectacular. Its action movie with 3D, I had to add it to my collection. I experienced no ghosting or aliasing, picture was clean crisp. I recommend to anyone who enjoys 3D like I do, worth adding to your collection. Hope my review helps.

The epic action of "Edge of Tomorrow" unfolds in a near future in which an alien race has hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the world. Major William Cage (Tom Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop-forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again...and again. Leaves you wanting more.

"The Edge of Tomorrow" Starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt is based off of the Japanese novel "All You Need is Kill" it is a thrilling story about William Cage (Tom Cruise) as he tries to right his mistakes in order to figure out how to conquer and destroy the invading army of 'Mimics' in order to save Humanity from perishing under their attacks. The action and storyline is great and really makes you feel for the characters as you watch them go through their trials. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!

I've really enjoyed the recent Sci-Fi Action movies that weren't based on well known material, such as 'Elysium', 'Oblivion', 'Lockout' etc. and 'Edge of Tomorrow' is no exception. In fact, it's one of the best. The film is well thought out and well paced, with well timed and well placed elements of Action, Terror, Comedy and Romance that give this movie pretty much everything you could want in an epic Sci-Fi. This movie has a lot of brain AND a lot of heart. 5 out of 5. A must see, if I do say so, myself.

Trailers did not do this film justice, this is one of the best films from last year. The story is very original (inspired from All You Need is Kill). Pacing was very well done, and not repetitive even though the story revolves around a man living the same day over and over again. Action, drama and some comedic elements flowed well. Special effects and CGI looked realistic for a movie about aliens and future warfare. Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, Bill Paxton, and the rest of the cast put up great performances.

Even though this is not available in 4K, the audio and video quality is absolutely fantastic. The soundtrack is especially potent on a Dolby Atmos system. Tom Cruise is fantastic, and this is one of the most creative and enjoyable storylines I've seen in a sci-fi movie. Highly recommend!

Edge of Tomorrow is a different take on the whole alien invasion concept. Many different scenarios play out over the course of this non stop action thrill ride. You are immersed in the lore of the Live Die and Repeat sequences. Tom Cruise performance was phenomenal. Backed by a amazing supporting cast, you can't go wrong with adding this movie to your collection.

I had already seen the film on one of the pay channels I have with local cable, but even though that was High Def, it does not compare to the picture and sound available on the Blu Ray! Make no mistake, the plot is (as far as I can tell) unique and the film does an excellent job of presenting it. Cruise and Blunt both do a more than fine job on this film. In fact, everybody does. It is worth owning and watching more than just a few times over the course of time

Interesting story line, kind of like the movie "Groundhog Day" on steroids. Tom Cruise, playing a cowardly US Army Major, must relive his life, beginning with his forced deployment to stop an alien invasion. His major problem is that his life is consistently cut short by the aliens in combat. He then loops back in time to his original deployment to "do it over"; knowing and remembering everything that he learned in his previous lives. Lots of action and combat. Watch how he learns to be a warrior, finds love (Emily Blunt), and - eventually - saves the day.

I was very cautious going into this movie since the trailer left me uninterested, but I must say this is one incredibly fun blockbuster. It I'd often compared to Groundhog Day because of its premise. It is a very accurate comparison especially since Edge of Tomorrow has a surprising amount of laughs due to its premise. My only major complaint was that they didn't go full CG with the exo suits. Walking sometimes seemed taxing to the actors and some sequences were hindered by the limited mobility. However, some sequences had awesome wire work that made the suits seem really cool.

If you play a good amount of video games you know the frustration of being stuck on a part or level and dying over and over again. The same happens to the main character in this film, The source material is a Japanese manga(comic). While watching this movie I was interested of the set pieces even how repetitive they may seem, but you see enough to see what's new. I had plenty of fun watching this film, I would recommend anyone who enjoys action movies or is an avid gamer.

There's a lot of hype out there for this movie. The movie played out well, just maybe not as 'awesome' 'earthshattering' or whatever labels they stuck on the package. They handled the repeating sequences well by adding humor to the mix so it wasn't annoying as he learns what needs to be done. The tail end of the movie wasn't quite as strong as the first portion but wasn't bad (why the 4 vs 5). Effects were good, interesting aliens. Emily is a long way from Devil in Prada and really made the movie. Watched it twice already. Will be something I want from time to time again.

This was a film that many people did not see in theaters, and that is a real shame. It holds surprisingly well, and offers an interesting tale involving time travel. This one of Tom Cruise more praiseworthy films - because the story is worth watching on screen - however Emily Blunt stole the show. This is definitely worth the purchase since it is priced at a bargain at Best Buy. I definitely recommend this film for purchase, both for the price and the story.

I never could picture Tom Cruise in a good sci-fi movie until now. Live, Die, Repeat is action, sci-fi, and video game action brought to life. The story is very intriguing and seeing Tom Cruise Mission Impossible his way out of this conundrum of a movie plot is quite hilarious. This movie is a must watch and must own. Seeing it in theatres before it came out was a plus too. Time to upgrade to UHD and 4K to really put you in the driver's seat for this movie.

As sci-fi movies go, I like it when you're still thinking about the movie afterwards; trying to figure out if the plot and story line really held up. If I'm doing that after the film is over then that tells me it was a pretty good film. This one fits that category. Plenty of action and plenty to think about. And Tom Cruise does a great job morphing his character slowly from a weasel to a hero! Sorry I didn't see this on the big screen when it was out.

Also known as Edge of Tomorrow, this movie is one of the best "Groundhog Day" type films ever made, and certainly one of BEST films Tom Cruise has ever made. Once you get passed the possibly inconceivable premise, the film is delivers a taught and expertly told story that moves fast and continues to surprise. Blunt is also terrific in the film that started her "action femme" viability. I guarantee if you give this film 5 minutes you will be sucked in for the rest.
