My 82 year old mother never had a cell phone, until now. This one was very easy for her to figure out, even with decreasing cognitive abilities. It makes it so much easier for my sisters and me to stay in touch with her.

The product itself fits what I was looking for. The process of transferring former phone number to the Jitter Bug phone has been ongoing since purchase date of 2/4/2014, and as of today 2/16/2014 has yet to be resolved. HOURS of phone calls, literally HOURS of calls, is beyond frustrating. If I’d have known about the hassles, I’d have reconsidered. My word of mouth will not be ignored, should someone ask me about my entire experience.

Good phone for the price. Easy for a senior to use with it's big buttons and arrows for scrolling direction.

Purchase for my mother who really wanted to go back to a flip phone. Calls are clear, texting is difficult, does not work well in the home. Her other phone worked much better.

This is the fourth phone I've bought for my mother and she loves it. I should also tell you that the customer support from Lively has been first-rate. Not only are they answering all her questions but when I called to request another User Guide for the phone it was sent to me at no charge! Highly recommended if your loved one doesn't understand smart phones.

I was happy with the low price and the quick delivery from Best Buy. My aunt at 90 is having trouble figuring out how to use it. She has never used a cell phone before. I found it easy to understand and use.

So far, I like it very much. Easy to get started on and easy to understand. It kind of takes my hand and guides me along. I like that. The instruction book is so step by step, even I can understand it easily. Texted my granddaughters and they replied they are so proud of me. They've texted me for the last 3 days - since I first messaged them. Great to hear from them so much! Best of all, it's my favorite color!!!

Purchased for my sister. She has been wanting to go back to flip phone. She loves it. Lively staff was great with transfer.

Jitterbug 2 is far superior to Jitterbug 1. Really like bigger buttons and new features.

this phone is for my mom who is 91 but has bad eyesight. the larger buttons helps her to be able to use the phone.

It has a simple face, large buttons that are separated, the arrows on the key pad make for easy navigation. We had an issue while activating the service however the customer service person quickly fixed the problem. The volume buttons are higher than the prior phone, so it helps to keep from accidently turning the volume off.

service was very good as usual. I am not a fan of cell phones so I would not in all likelyhood give any of them a 10 but since it is necessary to have one for emergencies I will give this simple one a 9.

I got this phone for my mom, and now she can text. It took some learning, but she finally got it! She's 85, so not wasn't familiar with texting. Reception is good on Verizon's network, but the buttons on the side are inconveniently placed. She frequently lowers the volume for the ringer and earpiece without realizing it. All in all, this works for her. The big buttons are plus!

Purchased for my dad. Have not had to use the emergency function, thankfully. The volume buttons get in the way of pulling the phone from its holder. The buttons are accidentally pushed each time. The bright red color is easy to find.

I found a lot of conflicting information about this phone, here and other places that sell it. I hope to set some of that straight. First, the model of the (gray) phone is Alcatel 4053S, in case anyone wants to look up specs or manuals. Next, the SIM card. The phone has a removable SIM card, behind the battery, as you would expect. Before I even turned on the phone, I swapped in my Consumer Cellular (ATT tower) SIM card, and turned on the phone. I ignored the sticker that said not to turn it on before activating with Lively. The phone worked just fine, making and receiving calls. So this phone is definitely unlocked, and you do not need to sign up with Lively. According to the US Mobile site, it would work with Verizon towers too, but I did not get that far. Regarding having to push a button to answer a call, which everyone seems to dislike, I didn't have good luck. The manual says that there is a setting to turn that off under Settings->Accessibility, but there is no such setting on the phone itself. I put the phone on wifi, and it told me there is a software update. I did the update, but still there was no setting. I then called Alcatel support, and they told me to try various settings, but each time there was no such setting on the phone itself. No luck there. Next I called Lively. Lively said that they could push a software update onto the phone that would supposedly give me the setting, but for that I needed to have Lively service. I didn't want Lively service, and I didn't pursue that option, so I cannot say if that would have worked. Next I decided to try putting the original Lively SIM to see if that software would download itself, but the phone got repeated errors trying to activate itself. Maybe that sticker was right after all. If I put the Consumer Cellular SIM back in, that still works. I really wanted to like this phone. It's an unlocked phone that works with ATT, Verizon and probably Tmobile towers for $30, where other similar phones cost $80. But having to push a button to answer a call rather than just flipping it open would bug me too much, and there's apparently no solution. For whoever doesn't mind that, this phone would work very well.

Excellent for my 90 yrs mother. Perfect! Her visions is terrible but she can answer & disconnect easy.
