My mother is 80 and this phone is exactly what she needs. The plans however are a bit pricey and you have to go through lively, you can't use a different carrier. If you have an elderly parent that would struggle with a smart phone, this is for you. It has big buttons and is not complicated.

I bought this jitterbug flip2 for my 94 year old Dad. The features needed was calls answer when phone open and call hangs up when closed. A nice feature is the volume bottom can be LOCKED previous phones his fingers always hit volume to where to low to hear. The numbers and screen are larger than any other flip phone. The people he calls the most are on speed dail which is one button call. Making calls from contact does intel a push of 3 or 4 buttons to finally make a call. Voice mail is also easy for him to check. For a senior citizen this phone is far better than others who claim to be for senior citizens.

This is a great flip phone for my brother who is in his 70's - easy to use, fits in his pocket and the price was right. He has gone through 3 of these phones - dislikes changes but has features he can use.

On the Lively jitterbug flip phone they have good help tools like a flash light and magnifier and even FM radio. The letters on the screen are easy to read. The letters are in black and white which is good for a color blind person. The only draw back is the volume button is in a precarious position which inadvertently lowers the volume.

Can't Transfer Contacts Info From Old Phone

BIG DISAPPOINTMENT was no way to transfer names, numbers, and pictures from his old phone to the Lively. Internet access was shut down to old phone with transfer of number to Lively. Otherwise it's okay. Bought this as a birthday gift for my husband, who isn't internet savvy, but his traveling job requires a phone and the element of safety Lively provides.

Had a Jitterbug Flip over 10 years ago and liked it. It was also red, for women's heart health at the time. I had had a triple bypass. However, my (now late) husband wanted us to get Smart Phones. I never did learn to use mine. I only want a cell for communication, not to be entertained.

Needed to call for help twice. first was in starting the online activation. guy was very little help and let's hope it was the end of his day. Second time was a glitch when the phone was initially turned on. Got a gal that was a super communicator. solid phone. cons: a little wide for my hands with RA. trying to use contacts takes far to many keystrokes. very surprised by the first bill. previous monthly bill on my old 3g phone was $20.23. With living the 19.99 turns into over $28. So sad that my 3g phone is being sunset. manual is a mix of simple and over simple. Big gripe. doesn't have how to end a call. old phone had a disconnect/hang up button. bottom line: the phone is just OK. it will be seldom used. needed for when driving. will likely just dial numbers. don't be oversold on it being senior friendly.
