The woman for whom I bought the phone loves it. She has Parkinson's disease and she hated her smart phone because it was always doing things she did not intend it to do. She is able to use Jiggerbug without those problems.

    Not for Seniors

The Lively™ - Jitterbug Flip2 Cell Phone for Seniors - Red by choice is the perfect phone for an eleven year old child born with the new triple-jointed thumbs. Now, some of us "seniors" only have one-jointed thumbs and they no longer hit the tiny buttons they were aimed at. The tiny buttons don't respond well to stylus devices either. But, the major behavioral challenge of this phone for seniors is in the width and the depth. The texture of the case is slick and the grappling necessary to hold the phone in one hand and dial with the other will frequently (5 X 10) leads to smashing fumbles. Just trying to flip this phone open can be hazardous for the senior. All these problems disappear when the user is a child between the ages 11-31. The little camera is a wonder and a whiz. The keen eyes and hands of excited youth can hold that camera steady even when the OK button is clicked. Keying in favorite numbers is relatively easy for 11 year olds. In short, take "phone for seniors" off the phone and out of the advertising.

Needed to get an easy to use phone for my senior mom and after researching online I saw Best Buy ad selling these and that it was available. The features are simple and easy for my mom and now can eliminate the cord and know she can have her phone wherever she goes. There are available extra services but I just got the 1000 min plan which comes out to about $34 a month total including those extra taxes and fees with the plan. Saving about $15 a month with her prior landline plus she still retained her number which was important because a new number would have been a difficult transition for her. I would also like to say how I received excellent customer service from the employee (Julius) who helped with the set up and info about the phone.

Great phone, easy for the average person to learn. Only negative for me is you can’t turn up volume on text messages. It’s set at a factory volume. Mother has difficulty hearing it. Best Buy staff were extremely helpful, courteous and patient.

Needed a basic phone because Verizon turned off my 3G service. The phone itself is east to use. Transferring service from Verizon to Lively to activate the phone was too difficult.

Switched my 80+ year old dad to the Jitterbug Flip2. Overall, it was a good swap - from an ATT Flip phone that they were charging him $42 a month for when he doesn't use data or text. The plan for this phone is $19.99 a month - so should be better overall. Lots of features in this phone - and since my dad is visually impaired, I like the Amazon Alexa feature. It could be better though, as you can't make phone calls with Alexa directly, you need to enable the Lively skill first and then ask Alexa to ask Lively to call someone. Sometime in the future, companies will figure it out and make calling easier for the visually impaired - but at least this is a step in the right direction. We did not take advantage of the Health and Safety plans - as that costs more. Maybe in the future.

I purchased this phone for my sister. She didn't want a complicated cell phone and said this was perfect for her needs. I found it very easy to adjust the various settings. She also read the booklet and found it so user friendly. I also have communicated with the Lively team to ask a few questions regarding the voicemail feature. It wasn't working properly and after troubleshooting they fixed it in no time. Apparently something was off at the time it was activated. The team was very helpful.

Very easy to use. My mom has dementia and she had a jitterbug smart phone and couldn't even answer it. It seemed very simple to me but she could not use it. I purchased her this jiterbug flip phone. She still has a hard time using it but a least she is able to answer the phone.

Service not good at all! All day, every day foreigners calling my 84 yr old mother trying to who do her to buy something or sign up for something, or just get info, who knows!!! Then the bills increase after the first 2 months, increasing each bill there after. And we have proof we paid them! She even paid the extra! I am so disgusted with the way they treat the elderly! I have been a nurse taking care of elderly for over 30 years! They ought to be ashamed! I know I am sorry I purchased this phone and their service! Liars!!!

Perfect gift for my mother-in-law. Very user friendly for seniors. I reduced one star because it was shipped in a box twice the size of the phone packaging with no packing 'fluff' to keep it from crashing around the box for the whole shipping trip.

My husband needed an easy phone to use. We looked at others and upon a recommendation from a friend decided on the Jitterbug flip phone. The only problem we had was transferring the contacts from his old phone to his new Jitterbug. The sales lady who was very knowledgeable tried everything and nothing would work. Therefore I had to enter all contacts manually which isn't easy. So far he likes the phone.

Best Flip Phone, But A Little Complicated

The dial buttons are not very responsive, and need to be pressed several times to make a phone call. It's a little more complicated than my previous Jitterbug Flip, but it also has more features. I really like some of the new features and I just need time to get used to it.

Worthless phone and even more worthless customer support. This phone does not answer calls upon opening it. Imagine an elderly person trying to find the "OK" button to answer a call. Useless. Supposedly, there is a firmware update that allows you to change this. I could not find anything online except a PDF that states indeed a firmware update fixes this issue. No procedure or information how to actually perform this firmware update though. I tried calling customer support, in fact I'm in line to talk to someone as I write this, for an hour now and I'm still on hold. This is NOT an award winning company with award winning customer support as they claim (They keep telling me this on their hold pre-recording) Could you imagine trusting them in an emergency situation?! Heck NO! Oh, and forget about trying to transfer an existing number. I'll save you the headache now, just go with the new number and save yourself hours of trying to make that happen. You have to buy the phone and get an account FIRST and then you have to try and port it with customer support later. So basically they want to make sure you give them your money first and sign up for a plan and pay the activation fee. I think this is basically a scam, someone bought jitterbug and is trying to squeeze as much as they can on the company name before they got out of business. Avoid this and look for other options.

With 3G going away soon, I needed a new easy flip phone for my 93 year old Mom. This little phone was perfect. All she uses the phone for is talk and although the basic unlimited plan offers more features than she knows how to use, but the cost was less than the basic plan she had at Verizon. We are very happy with this product. The customer service at Lively does an outstanding job! They take all the time you need to have questions answered and walk you through the set up.
