This phone solved the one issue my mom had with the old one, sound volume! But the new phone added a feature (problem) that wasn't broken with the old one, you have to push so many buttons to make a call from your contact list that it makes no sense and now mom can't use it without help! Why?

Misrepresented product. Supposed to be a live operator answer but is now automated. Not user friendly for a legally blind person.

CAN'T answer by opening cover, not for seniors

Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.

CANNOT just flip open the cover to answer a call. Have to: 1. Open the flip top cover (not a very good notch either) 2. Search for the 'ok' button and then 3. Press the 'ok' button My 80-year-old mother has great difficulty with this. Her prior flip phone was so much easier to answer - simply flip open the cover and talk. Now our family has to keep driving over to her house to make sure she is ok (she fell last month). This is NOT an "easy-to-use" cell phone for seniors /elderly (it is poorly designed for this age group). For us, this was a terrible purchase.

    Unsafe For Your Elderly Parent

I bought this phone and service for my elderly mother. I cannot stress strongly enough the TERRIBLE QUALITY and UNRELIABLE SERVICE of this phone. If you're buying this as a primary means of communication and safety for your parents... you should look elsewhere. 1. Initially I could call my mother's phone and she could hear me, but I couldn't hear her. She'd have to call me back. When I called for support, it was explained that this is a known issue, and THEIR PHONES DO NOT PROPERLY COMMUNICATE WITH IPHONE. Um, what? This went on for MONTHS while they were working on software. 2. Secondly, their phones are not built to last. We went through 4 phones in a year as each one continued to stop working reliably. Calls would not work properly, despite having a strong signal. Other people's phones in her home would work fine but hers was unreliable. We would be told it was the connection, but a replacement phone would fix the problem... for a short while. 3. You'll be told that the phone's software is up to date, but none of the ones we purchased had current software. We were told that phones will update the software automatically, but they did not. After repeated calls, a great rep gave us the code to do this ourselves. Try explaining that process to your 85 year old parent. 4. The last straw was my call to help troubleshoot the phone not working properly. The support rep I spoke to wanted to give me a lesson in technology, blaming us, and dismissing the issues their phones and service had over the prior year. I've worked in tech for 20 years and didn't need a lesson from a customer service rep. she disputed the issued previous reps said were known problems with their phones. Bottom line is we want a reliable product for the safety of an elderly mother. I trusted this phone and service to work, however it failed miserably over and over. Ultimately I felt like my mother's safety was at risk using their phone and service.
