    Black and white better?

The 90 minute documentary on the making of the film is wonderful and a nice celebration of not just the making of this film but the impact of Hugh Jackman's journey as this character across 9 movies and 17 years. He ushered us in to the comic book movie era and now as it promises to go ever on he finally departs the good ship. The noir version of the movie probably makes the film better. Logan is such a different CBM and yes the stakes do feel rather low. It's a very experimental film structurally so you may as well go full boar and saturate it in black and white. The color tone better reflects the intimate and experimental spirit of the film.

It was a great movie from the start, but fell apart at the end. I wanted more of an action scene

Not your average comic book movie...

It's funny - I was big into Marvel comics in the 90s (I had a particular affinity for the X-Men, especially Wolverine). And yet, I just can't seem to get into any of the flood of comic-book movies that have been pouring out of Hollywood for the past decade. Well, this is not your average comic book movie. It is a smaller more personal story, and has a more world-weary tone. Yet it never veers into "gritty for grittiness' sake" territory. It almost felt like a Western in some ways. It wasn't what I expected, but I mean that in a good way. As for the disc - this is another one that really shows off what 4K and HDR can do. What's kind of funny is, I usually think of enhanced chroma resolution and color gamut as big advantages of the UHD format... and yet, one of the things that impressed me most on this disk was the black-and-white version that was included... it's really cool, and almost plays out like a different film, due to the film-noir look. One of the more impressive "bonus features" I've seen.

    An emotional adventure

This movie is masterful. I had seen it in the theater one time and was blown away. Never has a comic book movie been sentimental. Some unbelievable and unforgettable moments and a perfect ending to Hugh Jackman as the Wolverine. Stellar performances all around, including Wolverine's daughter. However, at a certain point (SPOILER ALERT), I asked myself, "How many times can I watch this character drive his claws through someone's head?" Other than the younger clone, there weren't many villains who actually posed a threat to this aging super mutant. I watched it once at home and enjoyed it (but not as much as the first time). The blu ray comes with the film noir version, which I will save to watch with friends at the right time. I look forward to watching the original movie with others so that they may find the same excitement and emotion that I experienced when I saw it for the first time. Certain movies can be watched over and over again. This is a movie that should be viewed at the right time (and not over watched) so that it will remain a powerful and moving tribute to a great character.

LOGAN is easily the second best of the Marvel sequels, and the fact that it's not a "Marvel Studios" movie makes that even more impressive. Rising to the level of The Winter Solder, LOGAN tells a story that involves super heroes and not super heroes involved in a story. There truly is a difference. The movie was filled with the full gamut of emotions and all the actors came with their "A" game. Hugh Jackman has embodied Logan/Wolverine for so long, I'm sure he's not sure where he begins or ends. So natural was his performance that you really have a hard time imagining him not being The Wolverine. Highly recommended. NOT for the kids!!

I've loved Hugh Jackman as Wolverine since his first appearance on screen in X-Men, so I hesitated watching Logan because I knew it would be Hugh's last time playing this character, but as a fan, I knew I had to see it. There is a great deal of action, with violence much more graphic than in any previous film in the franchise. Along with the action is the story of Logan's relationship with Charles Xavier, who is old and battling mental issues. It's a patient/caretaker relationship, but also one of two friends, which is some parts adversarial and some parts tender. Logan is a difficult film to watch, but well worth it.

Wow this 4K movie is STUNNING on a 4K TV...Jackman goes all in in his 'final'? appearance as Logan. Stewart is brilliant as the senile old weapon of mass destruction. The scenes where he has a seizure are incredible. At the end when Wolveee has nothing left to lose he goes absolutely and graphically ballsitic and berserk on the enemies of the kids..all Brutal including his demise..The steel-book is a beauty and was on sale at Best Buy for less than the bluray, I had a $5.00 Best Buy rewards, so this was a 'steel' and a no brainer..Get it! oh and GET A 4K TV big as you can from Best Buy!

Wolverine is my favorite XMen character and Hugh Jackman's portrayal of him in the Marvel movies has always been fun to watch. In Logan, Wolverine's life seems to have gone the opposite direction from where it had been in the previous movies and we find him jaded and depressed. Seeing him in this state is difficult but well presented and you can feel the heaviness. Enter the young girl with too many similarities to be overlooked, and the story starts to take off, giving Logan a sense of redemption. Not for the young to watch, as this addition to the Marvel stories is rated R and with good reason.

Good movie, a couple things I didn't care for

I loved it, great storyline, great movie, but a couple things I wasn't happy about were. This was Hugh Jackman's last wolverine movie. At a certain point in the movie (won't say because it is a spoiler but you'll see & won't like it either) I wasn't happy what happens to someone. I wasn't happy that Liev Schreiber (Sabertooth) wasn't in the film. Although he wanted to be part of it but was unable to, due to conflicting issues from another film he was working on. I always thought if they were to end it, it would be with wolverine and Sabertooth against one another for one epic battle. Brother against Brother, then coming together to have to help each other, or maybe just ending it with them fighting it out. Who knows Hugh Jackman's dead set on not playing wolverine again, even though he stated he's not interested in a big pay check like Disney kept Robert Downey Jr. around to play iron man when he demanded that kind of pay. Maybe he'll do it anyway. Maybe we'll get lucky, Hugh will get bored with movies he's doing, or just miss the character. We can only hope right?

Logan is what many X-Men movie fans have been waiting for, a darker, gritier, twisted tale about Wolverine. Except Logan is at the end of the road, maybe at the end of his rope, unable to see past tomorrow about any future for himself or any X-Men. For no new X-Men have been born for seemingly a generation. But Logan does meet a girl, a tiny X-Men, very much like himself. This sets the tale on a journey to try and rescue a new generation, and right some wrongs that have been left un-righted! Don't want to give any more away, but needless to say the 4K HDR version of this disc shows this movie in it's best form !

This movie had a great storyline, filled in some blanks of information on Logan and Dr X, and finally gives a well deserved respectful conclusion to some favorite characters. While still allowing the possibility of a new franchise of movies if the studio so chooses with some fresh characters and faces. The 4K picture and sound was great, there's a B&W version also included in the set which was crisp and clear, although not my choice for watching with a high end 4K display in my home theater. Sound was great with the additional sound tracks, now found on UHD discs. A definite must watch if your a Wolverine or Dr X fan.

This movie is a more visceral, bloody R rated movie, the kind that Logan/Wolverine would approve. The story line of a weary Logan caring for an ailing Professor X while hiding out in Mexico suddenly being confronted by a young mutant pursued by dark forces grabs your interest immediately and keeps you on edge the entire length of the movie. The Blu-Ray and DVD both come with included Special Features that give the complete story of the making of "Logan" and what was required to make this best of the Wolverine movies. This product is well worth the money I spent for it and I am happy to give my highest recommendation.

    Best X-Men Movie Yet

Without a doubt this is the complete solid movie to date for the X-Men series. Patrick Stewart gave one of his best performances I've ever seen, along with a wonderful play off with Hugh Jackman. This X-Men film just stands out above the rest in a realistic style and crafted story. It's a shame Fox Studios wasted all of this potential prior to this film, especially with the character Wolverine. They finally got it right. -- Film does come with the Black Noir version too, but really it doesn't look as good in the noir version, since it was never really filmed that way to begin with. I guess it's just nice to have.
