The Standard Gets More Fun
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Blue Yeti took desktop mics to a new level when it first came out. The classic mic still has great pickup at 16-bit/48 kHz sampling and with 3 condenser capsules. The mic also has buttons to adjust polar patterns (cardioid, bidirectional, omnidirectional and stereo), gain and headphone volume. And it has a convenient lighted button on the front for mute. The stand for the mic is a flat, very stable base. I prefer it to the mini tripods that some other mics provide, whose legs always seem to get loose. You can also attach the mic to a studio mount if you don’t want to use the stand. While the mic sound is very good on its own, you can customize the sound using Logitech’s free software Blue Vo!ce. To use Blue Vo!ce, you first have to install their other free software G HUB that controls and updates many Logitech products. Once both are installed, you can tune the mic to your liking. Logitech does a nice job of making the software easy to use. For example, once you record your voice sample, it automatically loops playback so you can hear the effects of your adjustments as you make them. There are a number of pre-configured settings, or you can create your own. Additionally, Blue Vo!ce has pre-recorded sound effects to change your voice. You can modulate the output to sound like an alien, or a chipmunk, or like you’re whispering, or a ton of others. And, of course, you can create your own special effect. There are also sound samples like air raid horns, applause, bleep, and a bunch more. If you have the right Logitech keyboard, you can assign these as a shortcut to a key to quickly play a sound while streaming or recording. All in all, this is great microphone to start. And the additional software offers some nice finishing touches on the package.

Excellent for streaming and podcasting
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Yeti Blue is a solid streaming and/or gaming mic with excellent sound quality. It works seamlessly with my streaming software and stream deck. The mic has four built-in pattern modes: Cardioid (front facing), stereo (dual channel), omnidirectional (picks up entire area around mic), and bidirectional (front and rear, interview fashion). Buttons are logically arranged on the mic shaft and easy to access during use. The mic sits on a desktop stand but has a thread mount if preferred. The pop filter seems noticeably better and more effective than my previous two filters. The Blue Voice software allows broadcast quality voice enhancement and modulation effects. I currently use different streaming software and hardware but plan to play around with Blue Voice to see what it can offer that I may not currently have. The Blue Voice software isn’t super intuitive but is easy enough to pick up the basics without a steep learning curve. The entire bundle works very well together. The only trouble I experienced was initially setting up the pop filter. The filter’s adjustable arm feels too weak to support the filter and kept drooping whenever I positioned the filter. I finally got the filter to stay in place after a bit of tweaking, trial, and error. That’s the only hiccup I’ve experienced with this otherwise excellent mic.

A must have for any streamer or creator!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Blue Yeti is a high quality microphone that really delivers the best possible recording sound and modulation. If you are using the built-in mic from your webcam or a cheap stand alone one getting this you will find there is literally a night and day difference in how things record and sound when played back. First, because of how the condenser works it captures voices natural, keeps volumes level and eliminates noise, especially with the included pop filter. The included streamlabs content is super useful and makes this Microphone setup the perfect bundle for anyone who's looking to upgrade their streaming setup or who's looking to get in to streaming. The stand is a solid stand but you'll probably want a swing arm or similar mount so you can locate it in the best location without being in the middle of the view or your desk. Streamlabs content is good and definitely a good set to start out with. I'd absolutely recommend this setup, it's built solid, feels high quality and most important performs like it is high quality.

YETI REMAINS THE MAIN"STREAM" CHOICE!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second Blue Yeti and once again, I'm beyond pleased. Yeti has become the popular choice for gamers, streamers, podcasters, and general home computing use. With a solid build, consistent performance, and affordable pricing it's almost a no-brainer go-to. Sure, there are higher-end, non-USB, far pricier mics and those have their place in the market. When it comes to affordable, dependable, upper mid-tier mics, Yeti has hit the sweet spot. The two things you will notice right out of the box are the weight, and the appearance. This almost iconic mic just has an aesthetic that seems to fit in any setup. It's not flashy, but has a premium look and feel. Speaking of which, this is a solid, well-built mic as evidenced by its weight. The base securely holds the Yeti in place while offering easy tilt adjustment. Not that you want to be knocking the mic around, but I don't worry much that bumping something into my Yeti is going to cause any damage. Aesthetics are great, but they mean very little if your mic doesn't perform. Once again, Yeti doesn't disappoint. With the ability to change where the mic picks up sound, you can adjust this mic in nearly any position and still obtain clean, clear audio. Pattern and gain adjustments can be made on the mic directly using the dials on the rear of the mic. The volume dial and mute button are located on the front for in the moment needs. Sound quality is above par, especially when you take the time to appropriately setup and adjust settings at the start. This is true with any mic, your results can be greatly improved by spending some time properly setting the location, angle, pattern, gain, volume and figuring out proper speaking distance from the mic. The Blue Yeti will give you clear sounds with minimal to no distortion when prepped correctly. Pop filters can help decrease natural "pops" from speaking, and the use of a mounting arm can help to reduce noise pickup from being on the desktop. This becomes much more of a necessity for speech sensitive tasks such as podcasts or video chats. Gamers may not necessarily find this as much of a priority. I have two setups, both of which now have Blue Yetis as the primary use mics. One is for more professional business use on a MacBook Pro M1. Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and FaceTime are the primary uses here. The second setup is on an M1 iMac and used for video creation / production, and gaming. I could not be happier with the design, appearance, dependability, and quality. I would have no reservations recommending Yeti to anyone who needs an affordable, quality workhorse of a mic.

The Yeti has been on my wish list for years!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a serious PC gamer but I admit that I really don't stream game play. That's about to change, if nothing else for my own enjoyment. The Blue Yeti has been a microphone that has been on my wish list for years but I've always found something else to spend my money on. I've mainly wanted one during Covid when working from home for over a year I did all of my interaction on Teams and I hated wearing a headset with boom mic. I always opted for a small set of speakers and a cheap dedicated microphone. I finally got around to getting a Yeti and I'm so happy I did. I do like the desk stand and if you need to put it on an arm it's threaded for an arm stud. The on mic mute button with gain and volume dials puts everything at your fingertips. There are 4 different input modes: Cardioid, Bidirectional, Omnidirectional, Stereo. I'm perfectly happy with Stereo or omnidirectional but if you need bidirectional to pick up voice from both sides of the mic then this is a perfect setting. The sound quality is great and with a pop filter you get most of the unwanted noise filtered out. I will admit that I really don't like the pop screen is clamp on and I really don't care for it. It just feels awkward and tends to get in the way. I think I would have much rather prefered a pop cover instead. It is plug and play and no other software is needed as Windows and apps like Teams and Zoom recognize the Yeti natively. You can fine tune for your needs within those apps or even the Windows sound mixer. The Yeti works flawlessly. As part of the bundle you get some Streamlabs skins. I haven't played much with them but I did set up a sample stream session and Streamlabs with the Yeti worked great. If you are a streamer then you won't be disappointed.

Well made and versatile
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Blue Yeti sits on the sweet spot for home recordists who don't want to break the bank setting up a home studio but want clean recordings that capture reasonable sonic nuance. The construction is solid, the feature set is outstanding at its price point, and the recording quality is about as good as you'll get without spending considerably more or doing without some very practical features. The feature set makes this mic an outstanding value and very practical for home recording. The onboard gain control, stereo pickup setting, and computer audio through the mic monitor jack are what truly set this mic apart. The gain control gives an extra edge for working in imperfect noise and acoustic environments, as it affects the proximity characteristic of the mic in addition to the recording level. Lower gain settings also provide some margin against overloading from sudden loud sounds. The stereo setting gives two channel input with one mic and one USB plug. Stereo recording would otherwise require a much greater expenditure for equipment and not be nearly as simple. The computer audio output through the mic is a feature that allows the computer to playback with zero latency through the mic headphone jack while the headphones are used for recording monitoring. That's useful for voiceover or multi-track music recording. The mic driver includes software tone control and room calibration.

All I can think of is a futuristic Larry King !
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Seeing Larry King do his interviews there was always that timeless upright microphone on stand just like this one looks except seemingly 100 years into the future with styling and features. Whether you're recording for your podcast, live streaming your video game play, or singing your heart out! This microphone and it's entire setup makes you feel like a professional. It has a weighted base (about 1.5lbs) to keep it from tipping over. It's sleek and dark, in a black brushed or matte look and feel with a woven mesh metal basket over the top. It has LED indicator that shows the sound level and lets you know if it's up too high or down too low, and can also modified to the persons liking as far as colors which I thought was pretty cool. You can use this in 4 different modes. There's Cardioid, Omni, BiDirectional and Stereo mode. Cardioid picks up sound from the half of the microphone facing you only. Omni mode picks up sound equally all around the microphone and room beyond the microphone and even behind the person speaking, it to me sounds like when you're on speakerphone. BiDirectional picks up from the person front facing the microphone and the person on the opposite side facing the back side which is great for interviewing. And last is Stereo mode which uses both left and right channels which to me picks up sounds more naturally and not so much excess noise. It has Blue Voice Settings which allows you to change voice effects. There's infinite combinations you can choose from the presets or setting up your own variation. It does require you to download Logitech G HUB in order to use this which opens up endless possibilities as far as extra settings. It also a threaded hole in the bottom so that you may put this on a professional boom arm for studio use or even on a tripod used for photography. It has gain control and a headphone output.

Good Starter Mic.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The mic is easy to use and I had it up and ready within minutes. There is an extreme focus on streaming with this mic, which consequently leaves the included software limited just to streaming. Personally, I'm not into that but if you're looking for a cheap option, this is a great mic to get started with.

Great Mic For Studio/Soundproof Space
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to say, I have some reserrvations with this microphone; but Iwant to make clear that my review is overall positive! That being said, I'll begin with all the pro's.First off, the build quality of tghe microphone and the desktop stand is outstanding. The base feels heavy but is extremely stury. There is no shock stand so the mic will pick up knocks to the desktop or boom arm. The mic looks good on the desktop stand or the boom arm, and would like nice in frame of content if you are a creator. The pop filter is also of very good quality and has a nice look; however I have to say quickly, I dislike the Blue logo embossed on the popfilter but that is a personal peeve. The sound quality of the microphone is also suprisingly good for a USB mic. It has a rich tone and really captures the audio clearly. This unfortunately is also one of the cons that I will get to later. The mic is plug and play, immediately recognized in Windows 11, and needs no additional software. I do not use Streamlabs so I did not test the overlays, though they do look professional and clean. I did use the mic with OBS Studio and it worked flawlessly. That being said, I have to present my only con. As I said, the mic is good, really good! But it is "too good" if like me the area you use it in is not sound proof. If you have a "studio, or a "whisper closet" closet, consider this a 5 star review and move on! However, daily use or voice work without a studio setting is impossible unless backgroound noise in your audio isn't an issue. The mic is so good that even with the gain turned down to half and cycling through the pattern dial I could still hear the television upstairs in the background. My current XLR setup can be used in the same space with no issue.

Capture everything But mainly your voice
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just finished two videos with this brand new mic and pop that goes in front of it and even I hear a difference in the playback. My people can hear me a lot clearly now. Might not necessarily be a good thing because I talk real crazy on my streaming page. I love the voice capture, dial in the back and the way that it captures your voice. I didn't experiment with all the levers I experimented with two between the two videos that I just made. But from what I gather, I like that you can change it. I find this especially effective whenever you're going to use vocal effects that don't agree with your voice or you're feeling sickly and don't sound like yourself. And maybe you need some help with voice capture. The first thing I will say is that it's got some size on it so it better capture something. But I wouldn't trade it for much else. It's big, beautiful professional captures all of my sound without me having to do too much and is perfect for me and my streaming. Install was next to nothing. The pop that goes with this does attach to the desk separately and it's just assemble USB plug into the computer. Love this new microphone!

Solid desktop mic option, a couple minor gripes
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's big. It's heavy. It's solid. Not bad things necessarily, but things to be aware of. The versatility is great though. It easily connects to your computer via USB and works seamlessly with every virtual meeting platform I've tried. Great utility to record 30 seconds of your voice and play it back in a loop so you can experiment with the various preconfigured sound settings or create your own. But... that menu is a little bit clunky. Once you poke around and get familiar it's pretty straight forward but not intuitive from the start. The built in headphone jack and volume control are nice for listening to yourself and, depending on the meeting platform you're using, you can route meeting sound through the same headphones. Makes it pretty simple if you don't have external speakers. Two things keep me from giving it a five-star rating: 1) It uses a USB mini plug. Really?! Not USB-C or even USB Micro. A USB Mini. I tossed all my USB Mini plugs years ago. 2) the provided pop-filter doesn't attach to the stand in any way that I can come up with. If you opt to mount it on a swing/boom arm it will work, but you can't use it with the desk stand.
