I needed to buy a camera to participate in online meetings (i.e. Zoom). I have an 8-year old laptop running Windows 7 that I wanted to connect it to. The software for the camera was incompatible, and would not initiate the camera. I had to return the camera for a refund. The craftsmanship of the camera appeared to be good; however, because I was unable to connect, I had to give this a low rating.

Do not buy. I would return it if Best Buy stores were open

Claustrophobic cropped view

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.While the picture quality of this webcam is passable, the problem with this model is that it actually has a traditional 4:3 sensor, but the internal software automatically crops the top and bottom off the image in order to fake a "wide" aspect ratio. This means the image is way too zoomed in for video conferencing, and if you sit at a typical distance from your webcam, your face fills the camera view, making you look way too close.
