I had to get this for work, it's ok for what it is.

The case and keyboard feel like cheap plastic. when the keyboard is attached to the ipad, it prompts you to go to the apple store to download the necessary app. Once there, you get a message the app is not available, what? Not worth the money spent! Returned it the next day!

Well, I’m typing this review on the Logitech Combo Touch for my iPad Air. This is my new favorite iPad accessory, and one that I think that I will continue to use for some time. I have tried a lot of different keyboards, both “portable” types and full size and this is the first that has really impressed me. In recent years I have been shifting my iPad from a purely entertainment device to a productivity device. The ability to remotely connect to my office and other network computers has made the iPad a part of my everyday carry in a way it was not before. The addition of the keys and trackpad have made it immeasurably easier to control a connected PC. Starting right at the packaging there is a feeling of a premium quality item. It remains to be seen how the material of the case and keys will hold up over time , but the material feels durable. The finish is a pleasing matte that is not slick or shiny and everything has a “soft” feel even though it isn’t cushioned. The fit of the case to the iPad is perfect, but it seems there is little padded to absorb an impact. Over the years I have gotten away from military grade drop-tested indestructible cases without destroying an iPad, so this case is probably adequate for every day bumps. When the keyboard is closed over the iPad case the package is very neat, and it really has a “tiny laptop” vibe. After getting the case on the pad I took some time to try various items and overall get a feel for the package in use. I have never used any iPad peripheral that essentially required no set up, until this keyboard. Put the case on the iPad, connect the keyboard to the magnetic attachment on the case, and the keys just start working. No bluetooth setup, toggle or switch. Just, start typing (and moving the pointer with the trackpad). The keyboard input is substantially better than the mushy feel of a portable bluetooth keyboard I have been using for a couple of months. The keys are not too small and the spacing is just fine for my fat fingers and they have a nice snap when depressed. All of the function buttons, well, functioned flawlessly. I was surprised and a bit impressed by the adjustable backlight for the keys. I really didn’t think it was a necessary feature. Then I turned it off and found that I missed it. Must help my old eyes find the keys. The track pad is very precise and the click when pressed is quite clicky. At first I had expected come false inputs on the trackpad, however it has not turned out to be the case as the keyboard is so thin that my hands never rest on the surface like they would on a ticker laptop. The “dot” style trackpad cursor is fine, and I found that I could point with the trackpad and click by touching the screen more effectively than by using the pad alone. A couple of things threw me for just a bit, however I came to appreciate them as I used this. First, the kickstand just bends away from the case, and at first I felt like it was going to break. I found that the kickstand doesn’t have any clicks or stops but it does rigidly remain where I place it. I think after long use the case will probably start to crease and possible split where it hinges for the kickstand, but so far it has been fine and I have been impressed with its ability to stay in place no matter where I put it. The second thing that confused me at first was the way the keyboard hinges. I found that my brain had developed a bias from using a “convertible” touch screen laptop that has a keyboard that can hinge 180 degrees to allow it to be used in a tablet type fashion. I had expected this keyboard to hinge in a similar fashion, but when I tried I discovered it only goes so far before the magnets detach. For a few moments I hated that. Then my brain engaged and I realized that by detaching the keyboard and flipping it over, then reconnecting it to the magnets the keyboard can fold in a “closed” configuration with the keys to the back of the iPad case. This is great as it improves the feel and protects the keys at the same time. The kickstand is inaccessible, but if I want to place the iPad down with the stand, the bet board is easily removed. Love it. I have found that most of the day the keyboard is in use or otherwise attached. In the evening, the keyboard is removed and the now lighter, handier case makes leisure use more comfortable. I really love this combination of case, keys and trackpad, and how they have really improved my experience with my iPad. I only have one small criticism, and that is that I wish they had made some provision for holding a Crayon stylus, which I use quite frequently. It is by no means a necessity, I just would have liked to see it integrated to really “complete” the productivity package for me personally.

Doesn’t work and can’t get a refund a waste of money

After purchasing the newest iPad Air a couple of weeks ago, I came upon the dilemma of deciding whether to shell out lots of cash (almost a third of the iPads price) for an Apple keyboard. Then I came across this product, the Logitech Combo Touch. Based on its price, compared with Apple's, I wasn't expecting much. But I like to keep my money so I decided to give it a try. It arrived in a simple box, not overly exciting, but it looked good. It is a dark grey color, and has a slick "plasticky" feel to it. All the same color except for the slightly lighter LOGI symbol on all sides. The case is textured inside for gripping the iPad, and the bottom has the connector for the keyboard. The layout matches perfectly and leaves room for the Apple Pencil. The adjustable kickstand (integrated into the rear) has just enough tension to hold the iPad in place at whatever angle you need, but not enough to make it hard to get to. The keyboard is where the magic happens. Backlit keys in white travel just enough to make typing responsive. I was concerned with the trackpad and its ability to register input and whether it had the diving board effect (when the top of the trackpad is not as responsive as the bottom). Neither is an issue as the trackpad is very responsive and lacks the diving board effect. Typing was a pleasure and did not slow down my rate at all. The pins for the connector to the case sit on the bottom, landscape side of the keyboard. Now, there are a few issues as with anything. First, the Combo Touch does not secure the Apple Pencil in any way, it just has the cutout on the side to allow connection. Second, the kickstand limits your ability to use this just on your lap and needs more stability than that. And third, the keyboard does not simple fold back as the pins disconnect from the keyboard. All of these are similar issues on other, to include Apple's, keyboards for iPads. But in no way do these cause me to rethink my purchase and return for the Apple keyboard. It is excellent overall and easily keeps more money in my pocket. (P.S. No USB socket on the keyboard like Apple's, it gets all power and connectivity through the iPad's pins.) So, save your money too and go for this Logitech Combo Touch. I promise you will not be disappointed!

Apple’s latest 11-inch iPad Air is a multitasking marvel, and it’s important to protect your investment with a case and cover you can trust. With the Combo Touch for iPad, Logitech offers a functional, sturdy cover with a precise keyboard that keeps your tablet safe and ready to take on tasks at home and on-the-go. Form-fit to snap right on to the back of the latest iPad Air 11-inch, the Combo Touch is well-built and durable for mobile and active users. The keyboard side is magnetically connected and is activated or deactivated through that connection - you can easily remove the keyboard and store it away when your tasks don’t require a fully mobile laptop surrogate. Also of note, the keyboard keys turn off if still connected and that side is pulled around to the back of the iPad Air to use in tablet mode. When closed, the iPad Air display goes to sleep and turns on immediately when opened. Behind the tablet casing is a really nice kickstand that can be used at multiple angles and with or without the keyboard attached. It collapses closed and secured magnetically as well. I really like how large it is and that it extends to the full length of the iPad Air to give me peace of mind it will stay in place and protect my investment. The keyboard itself has good strike-back for pressing and is economically spaced so as to not feel too cramped while still being able to house all the necessary keys for your needs, including iPadOS shortcut functions. Those keys are very thin but ultra responsive. It never feels like an add-on; the Combo Touch really turns your iPad Air into as close to a laptop as possible. It also has a smooth, multitouch trackpad that activates as soon as the keyboard is attached, with a large cursor appearing on-screen whenever the touchpad is used. As for the cons, the case itself could use some fun colors or designs with which users could identify and make their own, as the drab gray hue gives off a stale vibe for such a fun, vibrant tablet. Otherwise, the versatile Logitech Combo Touch keyboard case has everything you want to keep your iPad Air secure, safe, and ready for anything you can throw at it.

I spent a lot of time exploring numerous different keyboard/trackpad cases. It was surprisingly difficult to find something reputable that had a keyboard, trackpad, was lightweight, and allow for laying the iPad flat. At a baseline, the Combo Touch is far superior in features and price as compared to the the Apple Magic Keyboard. I was able to find another third party case that offered all of the above features as well as placement in portrait orientation. However, that case was much more heavy and with a smaller track pad. Pros: -Lightweight -Great feel of keyboard and track pad -Detachable keyboard -Charges directly via iPad smart connector Cons: -Keyboard attaching/detaching seems slightly poor build -No portrait orientation with stand -No holster or way to secure Apple Pencil (huge mistake) -The stand itself can be difficult to position -Charges via iPad smart connector Details: I genuinely think this is the almost the best Combo case. However, the fact there is no way to secure the Apple Pencil was a huge design mistake. Almost all other cases have this built in. This case is definitely superior to Apple's own keyboard that doesn't even support multi-gesture. In general, the only thing I miss is the portrait stand option and lack of securing the pencil. Additionally, the keyboard just doesn't have a sturdy feel when in use. The stand does what it is supposed to but it's not seamless and feels like it could be better. I really enjoy the detachable keyboard, it allows me to switch quickly from the pencil/notebook style to a stand. I really appreciate how light the case is. It connects perfectly and the trackpad is phenomenal. I questioned whether I would care for the track pad but it is definitely worth it. Additionally, the multi-gesture function is immensely useful and works well. Overall: This is a really good product and I would still recommend it. I do believe it is over-priced but I would easily pick it over the Apple Magic Keyboard. I believe Logitech missed a few critical design options. Therefore, I don't feel I can give it 4 or 5 stars, but it is a product I would still recommend.

I am moving from a folio case to this keyboard case combo, and the first reaction is how much sleeker my iPad is now. And not just sleek, but lighter. It finally looks and feels like a tablet and not a book binder from the 50s. Since we are on look and feel, I love the texture of the material as well, and how it feels in my hand, there is no chance of it slipping off, there is enough grip in it. It also has no unnecessary shine that could show scratches and wear and tear. To my untrained eye and the few weeks I have had with it, it does look like it will hold the test of time. Actual functionality is where this truly shines though - it does convert a tablet into a laptop. And depending on your use case, that would boost your productivity tremendously. I don't think anyone would dispute that typing is exponentially easier and faster on an actual keyboard than on screen. And even though the keyboard is pretty low profile to keep it as thin as possible, and the keys are low travel, the typing experience is smooth and consistent. And that's what I look for in a keyboard so I can type fast without having to look at it. Taking a step back, once you install the keyboard, the iPad will immediately show a notification that you need a Logitech app. Post installation for me it immediately performed a firmware update. The keyboard also has dedicated keys to increase/decrease the led backlight brightness. And I love the levels of brightness, cause it never gets too bright to become bothersome. There are also keys for taking a screenshot, which I ended up using a lot more than I would have thought, rather than faffing about with multiple button presses on the tablet itself. Overall the tablet is a definite recommend and I am hard pressed to find any cons to talk about.

I have enjoyed using this combo touch on my M2 iPad air more than I expected to. Being so thin it doesn't necessarily provide a stellar typing experience but it is a huge improvement in efficiency if you like to do light work like emails, spreadsheets, or PDF/Word docs like me. The fit and finish is of good quality, the iPad snaps in tightly to the back case which also has a kickstand integrated and a slot for your camera to poke through. It does leave the camera lens exposed, my previous speck case had a flap that would protect the camera, but that would require making the assembly a bit thicker and I like the slim form factor it provides. The front keyboard flap covers the screen entirely, and is magnetized for easy installation/removal. As far as effectiveness of this case I'm not willing to drop test my personal iPad to confirm, but based on how the case fits very snuggly I would expect fairly good protection from waist/chest height unless you are tall as Shaq. While the saying has become somewhat of a joke thanks to Nvidia, this thing just works. I installed it on my iPad, attached the keyboard, and opened up my emails and was able to immediately type without any additional pairing or app installation required. If you have a new iPad touch and are interested in improving your efficiency for simple tasks I highly recommend you consider this system instead of a standard case.

The Logitech Combo Touch for the iPad Air is an exceptional product for what it's worth. Serving as both a keyboard attachment and a case for the iPad it does both very well. Considering the Apple branded magic keyboard is nearly double the price and doesn't even function as a case I would say the Logitech Combo Touch is your best option by far. The keyboard attachment attaches magnetically to the case which means one nice function is the ability to detach the keyboard at any time to only use the case. The keyboard itself is very sleek and has no issues connecting to the iPad. The keys themselves are a bit small but for a thinner option for an iPad it isn't much of an issue. The case itself is very sturdy and feels durable and has protected my iPad exceptionally so far. The case was very easy to put on the iPad and didn’t drastically increase the weight of the iPad. I love that the case still allows the use of the Apple Pencils charging feature and the adjustable kickstand was nice to turn the iPad into a mini laptop if needed. Logitech also offers a “crayon” attachment similar to the Apple Pencil that performs well with the Combo Touch. Overall I have nothing negative to say about the Logitech Combo Touch and would gladly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice reliable case and/or keyboard for their iPad.

If you’ve been looking for a way to turn your Apple iPad Air 11-in. M2 into a laptop, consider purchasing the Logitech Combo Touch. This is a 2-piece design that replaces a standard Air case complete with full keyboard and large trackpad. Yes, it makes it slightly heavier, but you are getting a lot more functionality! Installation is a breeze. Just insert your Air into the bottom of the case making sure the ports on the Air match up. Then attach the other panel with the keyboard on the top side of the Air and suddenly you’re magnetically connected and ready to type. It’s that easy. The typing feel is very fluid with little pressure required. One of the best features of the Combo Touch is its illuminated keyboard. It even features adjustable settings from low light to bright. One may be put off by the Combo Touch’s nearly $200 price. That is until you compare it to Apple’s version called the Magic Keyboard that retails for $100 more! With the Apple version you do get a choice of colors that Logitech does not offer. But with a $100 savings, who cares? If you want a laptop for very little more than your iPad Air, the Logitech Combo Touch is your perfect choice.

[PROS] Strong magnetic connection: When I need to write out things or perform more advanced tasks, the keyboard snaps into place with ease. Furthermore, it stays into place for scenarios such as moving from table to couch. Versatile Design: Although this is a common design, it's a winning one. The detachable keyboard and body-wide kickstand makes for an excellent combo. The folding stand holds its position well when I'm viewing media. The keyboard connects instantly, and the keys are spaced appropriately for comfort and productivity. Battery Preservation: The keyboard doesn't use a battery so it's relying solely on the iPad for power. I'm happy to report that I'm able to get multiple hours of use without draining my device completely. [CONS] I have no cons. It's all about preference. An iPad case can come in many forms. Some have battery operated keyboard. Other cases are only one piece. This case is not intended to be a bulky case with 6ft drop protection and that's fine. [CONCLUSION] The Logitech Combo Touch is a convenient case that allowed me to convert my iPad for multifunctionality. It executes in all the areas that I needed to. I would highly recommend.

This iPad case and keyboard combo has been great. I work in industry at a mine and regularly expose this to dust, abrasion, and more. While I expect that this will last a while at a mine, more importantly, I expect that the keys will continue to work for some time and that the case will adequately protect the iPad. I would highly encourage anyone looking for a good quality keyboard and case to look at this for a more ruggedized environment. While it isn't going to make your iPad intrinsically safe as we call it in mining, it will provide adequate protection that you won't worry about it getting damaged easily. I was able to install a screen protector on the iPad to add a little more protection, and the case and keyboard still close with a little room, and the edges of the case still lift above the protector to provide a little more drop protection. While I haven't seen any problems with my screen protector, be mindful that not all would fit inside this setting. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for more productivity out of their iPad in or out of a very industrial environment.

The Logitech Combo Touch is probably my favorite accessory I’ve ever used for the iPad. This device brings so much functionality to the new iPad Air M2, and is a must if you want to take your iPad to the next level. The Combo Touch is basically two pieces that combine to form the total case around the iPad. One piece is the literal case, which is rigid, perfectly molded for the iPad, and protects your investment from drops and bumps. There is a cutout on the side so your Apple Pencil can still attach, integrated volume buttons, and a cutout for the home button/fingerprint reader. On the backside, there is a cutout for the iPad’s camera, and about half of the outer portion of the case folds outward, to create a stand when needed. The second piece is the keyboard and trackpad combo. This piece aligns and snaps into place magnetically with the case portion that's already attached to the iPad. I found that it was extremely easy to connect and remove this keyboard; additionally, the keyboard/trackpad is powered by the iPad (there are connection terminals on the inside of the case that align with the rear terminals on the iPad), so there is no charging required. This keyboard is very nice for its size, with the keys being easy to type on, and with a good amount of travel. It's pretty incredible that it’s also backlit! The trackpad makes using the iPad feel like a whole new experience though. It is intuitive using the trackpad in most situations, but I did have to get used to certain gesture controls, if I wanted to operate the iPad solely with the trackpad. This is not an issue with the product, just something I was personally not used to, as I don’t think I’ve ever used a trackpad with an iPad (and I’ve owned many iPads!). Logitech has an app that you can download to customize your experience with the keyboard and trackpad, and this app is actually very non-invasive, and won’t even work unless the keyboard is connected. I appreciated that I didn’t have to sign up for anything or create an account. As for build quality, this product feels extremely well-made and built to last. The case portion is very robust, and my iPad feels as if it could handle some real drops if it needed to. I did not want to test this out, but overall the case is great and feels super protective. The keyboard piece does not feel quite as robust, but it still feels very well made. All in all, I think that Logitech definitely has created a product that is made well, and offers some substantial protection for the iPad. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the Logitech Combo Touch. I use my iPad daily, and this device has certainly created new ways for me to interact with my iPad, all while keeping it safe and protected. This is truly a 5-star product that I would recommend to all iPad Air M2 owners!

The Logitech combo touch allows your iPad Air to become the perfect hybrid. iPad's have become so powerful and useful over the years and now they are packing a punch when equipped with cases such as what Logitech has developed. Logitech makes it easy, slide open the box, take the case/keyboard out and pop in your iPad. There is nothing to download, no apps, no headaches. You can simply just start using the keyboard and trackpad. Now with that said, understand that the case will add weight and make it physically larger in terms of width. All of this is good for protecting your air, but I wish it was a bit thinner. The technology is there of course but should be applied in this setting as it is an iPad "Air". The built in kick stand is required to keep your iPad up but I wish it was in a different format. Instead of a kick stand and a flexible fabric attaching the back case to the keyboard, I wish it was a hinge that would support the iPad and case without the need of a kickstand. The case and keyboard connects to your iPad through the Smart Connector port on the side of your iPad. This allows your keyboard to be fully powered without the need to charge it and it does not have its own power bank. Simply your iPad powers and does it all. The keyboard has a nice large trackpad which is bigger than prior models/years. The trackpad also supports short cuts and multi-touch gesture which allows you to swipe, pinch, and double-tap like a MacBook. My favorite feature are backlit keys which are sufficient to help you type in any light. Other features include a cutout to hold your Apple Pencil, a variety of quick and easy to use shortcut keys just like most Logitech keyboards. Overall, this case allows your iPad Air become more than just an iPad. Is it a laptop no, is it still an iPad? Yes. Equipped with a Logitech keyboard does it become more? Yes, and I would consider it a hybrid. I gave the case 4 stars due to Logitech reusing the same design from previous years. They did improve case by adding a bigger trackpad; however, I think there is more to be done here. Making the case slimmer and eliminating the kickstand would make this case that much better.

I like that this combo gives me both a keyboard and a closed case. However, I usually use the iPad without the keyboard because you can’t fold it backwards like normal case. The keyboard is magnetic and easily detachable from the iPad.

Review for Logitech - Combo Touch for iPad Air 11-inch (Latest Model)(M2 chip) Keyboard Case. I’m quite fast using the iPad’s screen keyboard, but you can’t deny that it’s not as fast as a real keyboard. I like this case/keyboard for the iPad for its speed, but also for several other features that make it a real pleasure to use. First, it has an adjustable backlight feature that is great for use in dim light. The power for the keypad comes from the iPad itself using a clever magnetic hinge that contains the electrical contacts. The keyboard also contains a large and very nice trackpad that lets you use all of Apple’s multiple finger gestures. The typing feel is both solid and gentle. It provides the perfect amount of tactile and audible feedback without being too loud. The magnetic hinge lets you switch the keyboard to the back to act as a stand for the screen when you’re not using it. The easel back locks into a groove easily, but can also be adjusted back and forth to achieve the perfect viewing angle. The material of the case is comfortable to hold without slipping, water and stain resistant, and the color is nicely neutral.
