Keeper than the magic Apple one With all the same pinch functions

Junk!!!! Only had it a year and does not work anymore. It worked fine and then just quit working. I do take it on and off a lot, because sometimes it’s easier to do my work with just a tablet. I normally store it in my computer bag like a lab top. Pulled it out one day and just won’t work. I saw the price has gone up significantly and can assure you not to waste your money. It’s maybe a $50 build quality at best. There are plenty of others to look at or buy other than Logitech. I went with this one because it was on sale at 5he time and do have other products I really like from them. This is not one of them.

Form factor is great. Typing experience is good. But only issue is that trackpad doesn’t seem as accurate as magic keyboard.

You can use as a laptop or detach it to use it handheld.

Great purchase. A little pricey at $179, but works well. Fits around the ipad snuggly.

Love how this keyboard has 2 parts. Being able to remove the keyboard when taking pictures is a plus. No need to charge the keyboard separately from the ipad as previous Logitech cases required.

I don’t have a lot of mottos that I live by in life, but there is this one: never spend more than $50 on a keyboard with no volume keys. As such, even though I have had lots of iPads since the day they were first released - and lots of different keyboards for said iPads - I’ve pretty much always stayed away from Apple’s own keyboards, including the Magic Keyboard. I’m sure it’s great. But: the motto. I’m just not doing it. Sorry. Volume keys aside, I’ve never liked the design of most keyboard cases because they tend to look like they add about 30 pounds to an ultra-thin device, defeating the whole purpose of a tablet computer in the first place. I use the 11” iPad Pro every day precisely because I don’t want a laptop and because of everything that iPadOS offers. I can finally say that there’s a keyboard case that seems to understand what a lot of people like about using an iPad. For starters, let’s don’t even look at the keyboard. This case and the kickstand mechanism combine to make, hands down, the sturdiest way to prop up an iPad that I have ever come across. When that kickstand is out at a normal viewing angle and you tap on your IPad there is no wobble, because there is no movement of the iPad whatsoever. Tap hard. It won’t move. This is truly a hugely beneficial design for those of us who use the Apple Pencil regularly for document annotation and still want the keyboard super close. No wobble. Even when the kickstand goes low and puts the iPad at a nearly flat angle the movement upon touch is more than acceptable and quite usable. Frankly, I don’t understand why Logitech doesn’t just make a version of this same case with no keyboard at all. I think plenty of people would appreciate it. As for the keyboard, I very much like it. Is it perfect? No. If I want to write for long sessions I will likely still put out a Bluetooth keyboard that has much better key travel. The size of the keys are nice. The layout is nice. Everything on the function row is especially nice and underscores just how absurd it is that Apple’s magic keyboard has none of those same keys. There is a satisfying clickiness to the keys on the Logitech and I absolutely COULD write for long sessions on it. I just probably wouldn’t choose to do so. It’s a little soft and shallow for my personal tastes. As for the trackpad? It’s fantastic and fast. Having used a mouse frequently with an iPad I didn’t really feel like I was missing out on anything… but it’s simply better with a trackpad. The gesture support changes how the device can be used. And I really love the fact that I can detach the keyboard. Again, I’m just baffled why it has taken us this long for someone to just go straight after the design of the Microsoft Surface for an iPad case. It’s a good design! I don’t want to have to fold a keyboard onto the back of the iPad when I just want to hold the tablet in my hand and read. That’s crazy talk. Being able to detach and reattach at will, using the smart connector works wonderfully here. My only wish? That there was still a way to connect the keyboard to the iPad via Bluetooth when it its detached. There are times where I don’t want the screen that close to me - or would like to use the iPad on a stand that will elevate it to eye level. Being able to still connect the keyboard via Bluetooth would add really great additional functionality. Maybe next year. Size. I’m happy with it. Do I wish it were thinner? Yes. I don’t think the case needs to be as thick as it is, but perhaps due to the kickstand and smart connector there was no other option. But if that side were thinner and the keyboard side beefed up a little for more key travel, that would be a better compromise here. Most people are going to be using this whole get up on a desk or flat surface, maybe their lap. (which works surprisingly well, btw. Really.) I don’t think fall protection is the number one priority of anyone buying this case. But again, all folded up it’s not too bad, feels well protected, and isn’t terribly obnoxious. But you know what is obnoxious? The first time you use the case you’re prompted on screen to download an app from Logitech. This app… well, it’s hard to even call it an app. It’s a splash page that tells you if your keyboard firmware is up to date or not. And that’s it. It literally does nothing else. I appreciate firmware updates, but are there no settings or even a link to Logitech’s website that they couldn’t put in there? Something?? Lastly, I have to also say that I’ve had two instances where the on screen pointer just vanished while using this case. The keyboard still worked fine and everything else about the iPad was functioning properly. It’s just the pointer went AWOL and no tapping of the trackpad was going to bring it back. I had to detach and reattach and voila. Something I’ll be keeping an eye on. Otherwise, while I wish it were still a hundred dollars cheaper this is pretty easy to recommend.
