We sincerely apologize that the Logitech Combo Touch Keyboard Folio did not fit your iPad Pro 11" as advertised and that the detachable keyboard is not securely attached. This tablet keyboard would be better than Apple’s by far if it were more reliable. Have had multiple instances of the cursor and/or keyboard freezing and being unresponsive for inordinate amounts of time. Not sure if my particular unit is defective or if it’s common among these, but I can’t recommended it if the latter.

I traded my Air 3 in because of a zooming issue. The zooming issue continues with the new combo touch and a 11" iPad Pro. The zooming issue makes using this frustrating that I ordered the Apple Magic Keyboard and when here this one is going to Ebay or the trash. I do have zooming turned off on the iPad and it still happens. ;^P

Logitech combo touch for iPad is awesome, 1st love that it has ton off brightness settings & the keyboard is back light which is great at night when I’m doing stuff in bed I prefer a dark room so this is perfect. It’s super thin & light weight doesn’t add much thickness to your iPad yet protection is all around front back & corners my iPad fits snugly so no worries about it falling out, it was super easy to connect I love the track pad works great, the cover it’s self is a nice grey tone color material, has volume control & short cut keys which are convenient. It is comfortable to type keys are soft to touch when type, this is great for small stuff not for hours of use need my regular size ergonomic keyboard for that type of work, but this keyboard/ protector has been awesome for travel & getting small things done. Easy for the kids to use for one the go for car rides. Has a little kickstand so it looks like a laptop, holds you iPad pencil, FYI no batteries needed cause it runs off your iPad power!

    decent upgrade from Folio Touch

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

As someone who has used both the Logitech Folio Touch and the more expensive Apple offering , I must say I prefer this model for a few reasons but at the same time, it is missing one thing ,that I feel, would make it close to perfect, Compared to the Folio Touch, this "combo" feels so much lighter while keeping the same protection that is sorely missing from the "official" product offered by Apple. Pros: -Weight. The Folio Touch just felt like a beast in terms of size. Logitech managed to slim down the bulk AND keep the same amount of protection -The trackpad is now completely usable AND enlarged! The days of having to use only the bottom half of the trackpad are gone!! It keeps the same great responsiveness of the Folio Touch, but gives you a much bigger surface to use. -All the swiping gestures work as expected and the function keys are still a huge bonus. Things like volume, brightness (keyboard and screen), play/pause, lock and home are all controlled with the extra row of keys on the top, instead of through settings or screen taps. Certain things like cursor color or size are still controlled through the settings but the most used keys, are right there and easy to access -Plenty of viewing angles thanks to the flap that opens on the back and props up your device. The flap is functional and tight, but it also brings me to one of the inherent negatives about using it, which I will describe later -The keyboard is detachable!!!! This was one of my big gripes with the last model. In order to use some of the viewing angles, the keyboard needed to be folded under the device, which did not sit well with me. Sure the keys were deactivated in this position, but resting your device on the keys just felt...off. Now if you want to read an e-book or color and draw or watch a movie, just remove the keyboard and away you go! -This combo utilizes the smart connector, on both the device, and the keyboard and let me tell you..the magnets on the bottom where the keyboard connects...boy do they hold in place well. Also, using the smart connector allows for more responsive keypresses and trackpad usage. This connection also powers the backlit keyboard, so there is no plugging it in to charge it (which other bluetooth connected products like this rely on but as I know from the past, those other keyboards can lose connection often and require a separate charging source) Cons: -The flap. One of the viewing angles is known as "Sketch" mode. In this mode, the keyboard is removed and the flap is fully extended, allowing the user to draw or write and so on. The idea is good BUT at the same time, applying any sort of pressure also moves the iPad in sort of a springy motion. Also, because of this "flap" design, the enlarged trackpad and the extra function keys, the space used on a desk or table, is increased (this was also the case with the Folio Touch). To be honest, this is the only area where I preferred the Apple offering over the Logitech ones. -It relies on the strength of the magnet in the iPad and the Apple Pencil. The Folio Touch had a strap that you could use to cover a portion of the pencil when the case was closed. I liked this myself because my iPad goes in and out of my bag multiple times a day, and that strap helped keep them connected. For some reason, the strap was removed, so expect it to pop off when placed in a bag or even just picked up wrong (just happened to me when I sat down at my desk to write this. My hand knocked the pencil off) The cons I listed are tolerable because the pros far outweigh them, and I would recommend this to anyone looking to save a few bucks while keeping the functionality of the more expensive models out there. -

Turn your iPad Pro into a Laptop

SUMMARY -------------- This is the second time using the keyboard case from logitech and I am impressed. Logitech makes quality product, be it an inexpensive mouse or a case like this one. Best part is the connectivity, no pairing needed and it's a snap on play type of setup. All you do it snap this on and the iPad pro detects the keyboard and you can start using it. The keypad is now wider and bigger and much more user friendly. What's in the box ------------------------- Combo Touch Keyboard Case for Apple® iPad® Pro 11" (1st, 2nd, and 3rd Generation) Owner's manual Pros ------ Excellent trackpad and a functional keyboard Moderate protection for the iPad pro Backlit keyboard Detachable keyboard Adjustable stand for viewing No need to charge, charges when connected to iPad Space to charge Apple Pencil (2nd generation) Cons ------ It's not a rugged case, can survive some minor drops. DETAILS ----------- Setup -------- Setup on this one is a breeze, you can just snap on and play. No pairing needed. I have another logitech case for my iPad (this one is for iPad pro) and works the same way. It does not require charging as it draws power from the iPad. The drawback I noticed with the original iPad model is that the keyboard is not detachable which made this quiet bulky when carrying this around. They have fixed it in this mode for the iPad pro and love the magnetic detachable iPad keyboard. Love the fact that the case also has a slot for the apple/logitech pencil. Usage ------ This thing can turn your iPad pro into a laptop. Literally. I do not miss the number keys, and I don’t miss certain functionals on the regular mouse. The click anywhere trackpad works great. In addition to gesture controls, it can also does the swipe, tap, pink and scroll. The backlit has 16 levels so you can adjust it based on the need. There are shortcut keys at the top to adjust it. Note that, the keyboard automatically adjusts the backlit based on the lighting in your room which is an important feature. Its got auto on/off i.e opening it turns the keyboard on. Only concern I have is with the fabric, with my prior iPad case, I always used to get some threads coming off, hopefully they have fixed it in this model.

This is a premium keyboard/trackpad/protective case. The packaging, materials, perfect fit are all high end. If you want to turn your iPad into a laptop (almost), Logitech has done it. But it’s also very heavy. The iPad alone is a few grams over a pound. The keyboard case is and additional about 1.5 pounds. So once installed, you’re holding a sturdy, 2.5LB 11” laptop without a hinge to stay open on your lap. For versatility and protection while traveling, or if you’re planning to use at a desk or table, this is a great solution. The keyboard is not cramped, and the press is satisfying (doesn’t feel like a “flat” keyboard). It’s a breeze to type and nice to have the option of using the trackpad instead of leaving the keys to touch the screen. People may scoff at how lazy that sounds, but trust me, your efficiency increases with a keys-to-trackpad interface as opposed to keys-to-screen one. Keys are backlit as well, which adds to the premium experience. One con with any case that is not hinged is that you really cannot use it for long periods on your actual lap. This case is no different. It has a fully adjustable and sturdy easel form factor, but it’s not a hinge. One thing to note—I could never get the track pad to work with another popular browser. Safari handled it great. Use it just as you would on your laptop. The other one would select a link but not actually open it. I gave up and reverted to Safari. I have had previous Logitech keyboards for previous gen iPads and have never been as impressed as I am with this one. The fit is absolutely precise, and all the different configurations are thoughtful. I especially like that I can detach the keyboard, reattach it “backwards” and close it around the back to hold the tablet with a smooth back surface. The space for the pencil is also nice. If my iPad was used more for business, this case would adorn it all times, heavy or not. It’s solid. For my use case, I have the iPad in the Smart Cover unless I’m leaving the house, then the Logitech keyboard case goes in immediately. Classy and feels good to carry.

The app is useless just says your updated

I have an ipad 11 2nd generation that i had in a full body clear case with no screen protector as the case included a built in screen protector. I was a bit apprehensive to remove my case and place into the logi keyboard case and close said keyboard onto my unprotected ipad screen. But the logi keyboard ipad holder section has a nice border around the screen with a raised lip that keeps the glass screen off the keyboard. Jon insertion of the iPad into the case, you get a message on your ipad saying you need and ipad, download of the app only says your updated.WASTE OF AN APP. The case is solidly built, adds some bulk to my slim ipad, as well as some weight. The ipad case holder part detaches easily and so I once shed of the keyboard, the ipad feels thin and light again and easy to handle again. Would it survive a fall, doubtful but the corners are reinforced so maybe a short drop. The keyboard has nice feel and travel, not sure about the use of what seems like Mac keyboard commands on the keypad like option key, control key, cmd key and so on. The backlight is easily controllable in brightness level but when off, makes the keys especially the top row nearly impossible to read the keys. I left the backlight at about 60 percent or thereabouts. I have been on the keyboard for over one hour as I type this review and my ipad has gone from 95% to 93%… 4 stars as i do not see the functionality of a mouse/track pad given. The ipad is a touch screen and much quicker to touch icons that slide across a trackpad. The typing on the keyboards though is the really star.

    My New Favorite Case

Overall: An excellent case with pros & cons depending on your usage style I am a relatively casual iPad user with a 2020 iPad Pro, which I purchased to replace an ancient iPad 3 (part of my intent being the Pro model would stay “up to date” longer than the other models available at the time). I bought a simple folio case to go with my iPad but quickly realized if I wanted to use my tablet for anything more than casual social media scrolling, I’d need a keyboard. A few months later I bought a deeply-discounted keyboard-only, laptop-style case, and while I was impressed with the quality and convenience of the keyboard, I found myself wondering if I should have splurged for a case with a trackpad, now that Apple’s latest OS has system-level support. Enter the Logitech Combo Touch, from which I’m writing this review. This latest model from a longtime accessory maker features not only a keyboard, but a trackpad, powered by the iPad Pro’s Smart Connector and designed in such a way that the keyboard/trackpad half of the case can be magnetically detached from the rest of the case. Unlike Apple’s Magic Keyboard + Trackpad (or many competing models), this keeps your iPad in a case at all times, leaving you protected and free to use the case’s built-in kickstand with or without the keyboard attached. Setup is astonishingly simple: you pop the iPad into the case, snap on the keyboard … and that’s it. With Logitech using the built in Smart Connector there’s no need to pair via Bluetooth; things just work from the get-go. Settings menus appear in your iPad’s native Settings app to adjust the keyboard and trackpad, and upon first use a pop-up window asks you if you’d like to download Logitech’s app for the Combo Touch. I did so and found a simple app that’ll automatically notify you of any available firmware updates for the Combo Touch. Everything else is controlled from your iPad’s Settings menu, much like first-party accessories from Apple. Nice! The Combo Touch is well-built, with all parts feeling high-quality and manufactured in a smooth gray fabric weave covering which feels both durable and easy-to-clean. The keys and trackpad are rendered in a matching gray, with automatic key backlighting in a white color. I was immediately impressed by the spacing and key travel, with a typing experience not far off from a regular laptop. I especially appreciate the row of function keys above the number keys and the traditional “inverted-T” arrow keys which are easier to use by feel alone than some other designs. The keys are clicky without being too loud, and unlike my previous keyboard case they don’t wiggle while you’re typing. The trackpad is a joy to use. It’s nearly as large as a laptop trackpad and has a smooth surface with a good balance of traction and slick-ness to make gestures feel natural. As promised it supports all the native MultiTouch gestures with no stuttering or lag. If you’ve never used a trackpad with your iPad prepare to be pleased; it really does add a lot to the experience without getting in the way. I find myself bouncing between the trackpad and the touchscreen depending on what I’m doing in a pretty natural way and I appreciate that iOS is designed in such a manner that the cursor fades away when you’re not using it but always pops right back up when you need it, and that it snaps to icons and buttons throughout the interface to make usage a bit easier on a touch-centric machine. I had no trouble with unintentional inputs while typing either. All around an excellent trackpad experience. The Combo Touch case itself is a nice TPU/plastic/fabric combo that fits my iPad Pro tightly. It’s not heavy persay but it definitely adds some weight and bulk to the machine. All the port and speaker cutouts are present and accounted for, and the buttons are covered but plenty clicky through the case. There’s plenty of room to dock and charge your Apple Pencil, which I don’t have but now find myself wanting more and more. Here’s where Logitech draws a clear line between the Combo Touch and Apple’s Magic Keyboard + Trackpad: the Combo Touch props your iPad up for typing with a kickstand built into the case, much like Microsoft’s Surface computers. Depending on your needs, you may love or hate this. When typing with your machine on a desk or table, the kickstand is very stable and provides a high degree of adjustability. When you move to a softer surface or an uneven one like your lap, things are a little less table. I have to say I’m impressed with how sturdy the whole package is in my lap or on a couch cushion; the kickstand stays where you put it for the most part and the keyboard/trackpad piece is remarkably solid, much more so than Microsoft’s Type Covers, if I’m being honest. That being said, you’re not going to get the solidness of a laptop on your lap like you will with some of the all-aluminum cases with hinges from other case makers. However, Logitech is betting that you’ll appreciate the high degree of flexibility the Combo Touch offers you. The Kickstand adjusts through a wide range of viewing angles (wider than Apple’s offering) and the great thing is that you can snap the keyboard/trackpad right off and you’re left with a well-protected iPad in a case with a versatile kickstand. For me, this was a great feature, as it allowed me to go from typing emails to scrolling Twitter on the couch in one easy motion, but without being left with a naked iPad in my hands — I still had all the protection of the case and a kickstand to perch my tablet at any angle I needed. Depending on how you use your iPad you may find this case to be exactly the flexible companion you need, or an overlay complicated way to type and scroll with a trackpad. I’m betting you’ll be pleased with the design and the advantages it has over Apple and other offerings, not the least of which because it’s more like two cases in one because of the detachable keyboard. As long as you’re comfortable with the setup Logitech offers with the Combo Touch I think you’ll find a well-built and tightly-integrated accessory that really leans into the “iPad as a laptop replacement” usage model without forcing you to choose between “always as a laptop” or “totally naked iPad” like many other options do. For me, across all the iPads and accessories I’ve had, this is by far my favorite accessory. I’m already using my iPad more than I have in the last year and it all has to do with the flexibility offered by the Logitech Combo Touch.

So I’ve tried Apple’s Magic keyboard for iPad Pro as well as the Smart Keyboard Folio. This Logitech offering is better than both of those. For me, the most desired aspect of this is the detachable nature of the keyboard from the iPad - that is a game changer. You have the convenience and functionality of the keyboard and the trackpad when you need it but the versatility of detaching the iPad from the keyboard when you don’t need to type or use the trackpad The function keys up top are great as is the use of the Smart Connector so no charging is needed If I had to pick one small thing to nitpick about it would be to make it just a tad bit lighter. I understand the need to give the keyboard and case a premium feel because it’s definitely being sold at a premium price, but I’m wondering if the case part of the unit could have been made a bit lighter, this would have made this the absolute perfect product Regardless though I would not hesitate to buy this again if anything ever happened to my current unit
