I've always used a keyboard case with my iPad and have always loved them. For me it just makes the way I use my iPad so much easier… whether I’m taking down notes during a conference call, or writing an email… this type of case has always been a “must have” accessory for me in the past. I use my iPad and this case every single day at work and home… That means I carry it with me in my bag and or car all day long and need it to work like tis supposed to. This new case has really has been a game changer for me! The touchpad is new to me and is an AWESOME and much needed addition! The iPad functions just like a MacBook when typing or clicking now, which is really invaluable and is so convenient when you’re used to using that type of interface. Another huge improvement is the fact that there is no battery in this!!! It gets its power directly from the iPad. Now maybe that doesn’t sound like a big deal to you, but for me, who already has wires and multiple chargers all over my nightstand, work bag, car and everywhere else… having to worry about 1 less cable or plug is a big deal! I love that! The material of this case is really great, I’m honestly not sure what it is constructed of, but it feels great and sturdy in the hand…. Nothing cheap about this at all. The backlit keys and holder for my Apple pencil really makes this case the PERFECT case for my iPad. I see myself using this for several years down the road. This has honestly been the best upgrade that I could think of for my iPad.

Best Case for the iPad Air 10.5"

I love this Logitech - Combo Touch Keyboard Case for Apple® iPad® Air 10.5". This case does an excellent job protecting your iPad Air, but is also designed for durability making it ideal for putting the case in a back pack or as a travel companion. The case features a built-in stand on the back, allowing you to prop up the screen horizontally as you type or view video. The keyboard is awesome! The keys are responsive, making it easy to work on documents on the go, and the backlit feature is perfect for dark environments like working in bed or on a flight. Also, the trackpad is outstanding. I like how responsive it is, also that you can use iOS gestures and eliminates the need to use the touchscreen while selecting items on the screen. Last but not least, you can store your Apple Pencil directly on case, allowing the pencil to charge and be ready for use when you need it. The pencil stays secure, so you don't have to worry about it getting misplaced. The case charges quickly and holds a charge for days, depending on usage. It's the perfect companion for your iPad Air. I highly recommend the Logitech Combo Touch Keyboard Case.

So sometimes I'm feeling a bit lazy and don't wanna drag my fingers all over my iPad Pro 10.5, here comes Logitech's Combo Touch Keyboard to the rescue. Pop the iPad into the cover and let the magnetic connected attach to the iPad and you're good to go. No extra battery power is needed since the KB uses the iPad's power. I didn't do a full rundown to see how bad the drain was but it didn't seem to affect my normal use. The case and keyboard add a good bit of heft to the tablet and quite a large amount of bulk so keep that in mind if you're looking to add this to your iPad. The KB is backlit with 4 levels of brightness. The auto shut off if there's no use to keep the battery drain down. The keys are pretty responsive and speed up my usage quite a bit since I tend to have a lot of typos with the on screen kb. One thing I do wish is that the stand would lean back more so it's at a more comfortable angle for me when I'm using it on the floor. It's just too upright for floor use. I really can't find any fault with the combo touch keyboard. The trackpad feels nice and didn't lose tracking. Zooming, tapping, mutlifinger tapping all worked as intended. I just need more time to remember all the iOS shortcuts. The combo touch keyboard really adds a new function for me with my iPad and makes it a good alternative to a laptop in squeeze.

This case is the best I have had. Perfect fit and the texture is an added benefit. Keyboard works as expected. Seem to be very durable, wouldn’t protect it from a drop but great for day to day use protection

The great logictech case you were expecting with advanced features for iPad airs and iPad pros. The track pad is precise and usable on an iPad which I thought would be useful. It’s useful for when I don’t won’t to bring my Mac so it won’t get hurt. So it’s a MacBook Pro saver. The keyboard also lights up like a MacBook Pros. It Apple keeps up with increasing the power of the iPad and Allowing 3rd parties to make cases like this.....the laptop will become extinct or should I say reinvented. It is awesome that Apple allowed Logitech use a new feature/advancement (trackpad). I do have multiple iPads and tried this on the regular iPad. The keyboard will attach but it will not work.

This case is very well made and provides useability and protection. It adds quite a bit of weight but is worth the tradeoff. The features that really set this apart is how easily the keyboard can be removed and no external power is needed. Many similar cases just fold the keyboard back, but you can just quickly pop off the keyboard and still leave the back side of the case on. It easily connects to the port on the side of the iPad. There is even a handy slot for your stylus. It is hard to tell that it is even a third party accessory with how well it pairs.

    SO HEAVY! - excellent otherwise

I expect a keyboard case to be heavier than a regular ipad case. However, nothing could have prepared me for the weight of this thing. With the keyboard and case it is 2.6lbs, which is 2.5x the weight of the iPad alone. It actually feels heavier than my MacBook Air (2.9lbs) because it is over a smaller area, so it is more dense. You can detach the keyboard easily to use handheld, but the rear case is actually more than half of the weight. It's tiring to even just read a book and forget about one handing it for long. I have no idea how it can be this heavy. Easily 2-3x the weight of any other ipad case I've owned - without they keyboard! It is also extremely thick, for no reason at all. Now if I sit down on a desk, or spread this out on my lap, it is fantastic. The stand is great with lots of angles. Holds very sturdy. They keyboard is top notch. Keys are spaced well even for my large hands. backlighting is great. They have lots of nice function keys. Touchpad is great and really integrates with the latest iPad OS well. Pity that this is everything I had wanted in a keyboard case if only it weighed half as much. You might think I am exaggerating or being dramatic, but I am not. It's *shockingly* heavy. If you want to turn your iPad into a device that is mainly for use on a desk or table, then it is great. But it kills the outstanding portability and ease of handling that you probably bought an iPad for. I'm sending mine back, sadly.

Best iPad Air 3 Keyboard found, but not perfect

If you are planning on buying a keyboard, and there is a Best Buy nearby, it is well worth the effort to go there to check them out first time and buy it there. I have no affiliation with Best Buy, just a good experience. They had all four options I was looking for, and they let me take them out to try them. You should have seen me laying on the floor, sitting on the counter, and trying the table top to see which was the most comfortable!! I got a lot of Best Buy employees coming by and saying “Are you OK? Can I help you?” But not in an intrusive way. The Zagg Rugged Book was bullet proof, but so dang ugly and cheap looking. And the hinge was so tight, I wrought I would break my iPad trying to move it. The Apple Smart Keyboard was just too flimsy and really only had one angle - one that was unacceptable for typing while laying on the couch or on the pool-side lounge chair. It also had very little protection for the iPad. The Brydge 10.5 hinges were scary - I felt like they were going to marr my iPad. The Brydge also did not provide any protection for the back of the iPad. The Logitech Slim Folio was pretty nice and a close second but it also only has one upright angle, although you can lay if flat on your legs (as you can with the Apple Smart Keyboard) if desperate. I liked the idea of a Bluetooth keyboard that I could also use for my iPhone or even iPad in a pinch. I would choose it over the Apple Smart Keyboard because I thought it felt like a better build and definitely had better protection. Finally, I opted for the Logitech COMBO Touch. I love it EXCEPT 1) the magnet is not strong enough and the keyboard will fall of if knocked hard enough - it fell off and hit my foot while carrying with the keyboard hanging from the living room to the kitchen (on the other hand, I really like that I can just pull the iPad off and use it for reading) 2) the magnet side of the iPad is not very well protected with the keyboard off (pretty minor, the corners are well protected), and 3) when iPad is in a vertical position using the fold-out stand to hold it up, there is no angle. It is directly vertical (I’d have to saw off the fold-out stand At an angle to fix this, but it’s a pretty easy design fix for Logitech). The keyboard ergonomics are great. The track pad is about a 7 out of 10 (it requires too much pressure (while on the lap) on the lap for selecting and scrolling). After buying it I Typed an e-mail while sitting in the car with the keyboard on my lap and the iPad leaning up against the steering wheel (parked, of course!). Worked great! Then when I got home I typed a function into a text editor using the cmd-spacebar combo to switch back and forth between a web manual-page and editor. The iPad and keyboard were propped up on my lap and legs while laying on the couch. I was able to adjust the angle perfectly. I’m sitting on the couch now, with the keyboard on my lap and the iPad (monitor) propped up on my knees - again, it works great. No, it’s not perfect, but I like it a lot. It’ll pay for itself if I can start coding at night in bed while my wife is sleeping. I should mention that I am 6’-4” so the ergonomics may or may not work for you as well as me, but you can got to Best Buy and find out.
