When I got a 7th gen iPad, I often wondered about how it would feel to use a keyboard with it. The Logitech keyboard case is a great option for this if you want to have a case and keyboard that protects your device and enhances the functionality of the iPad. The Good: The tactile response of the keys is nice. iPad OS has lots of features built for keyboards and this can do them all. The outer shell is a denim-like material. The case adds a layer of protection to the iPad that the Apple version doesn't really provide. The Bad: It's big. The iPad alone weighs 17oz. With this case, it weighs 39.5oz! Overall: If you want a keyboard for your iPad, this is a solid option--probably your best option if you're the type of person who likes or needs a sturdy case for your device. For me, it's a great option if I am choosing to do a lot of typing on the iPad. but it feels a bit much for everyday use or using the device to watch video content.

Let me start by saying, I am a big fan of Apple products for my Apple devices. But, I took a chance and tried the Logitech Combo Touch Keyboard for the 7th Gen iPad. I have an Apple keyboard for my iPad Pro, and loved it. But the one thing those covers lack is a dedicated touch mouse like a laptop. So in essence, this device is a combo keyboard with an actually heavy duty protection case. Where as the other keyboard I used on my Pro was just a keyboard/cover which offered no drop protection. So here are the highlights for me: Keyboard and Cover: As I already stated, you get a high quality cover with a high quality backlit keyboard. Holder for Apple Pencil: Integrated in the case is a holder for your Apple pencil. I love that feature, one that is not too common on aftermarket cases. It holds well and is really well constructed. Integration: This device is nicer than most of the cases that are out there for this device. It integrates well, and even has short cuts on the keyboard for additional ease of operation. Stand: This is my one issue. I am not fond of the way it stands. I prefer to have a strong hinge like a laptop, but the stand on the back works. It is adjustable to different viewing angles, so that is a plus. This is definitely not a deal breaker, its really just me being picky. This keyboard really turns your iPad into a laptop as much as the devices allows you to do. At the price point, I think it is a solid value. Given that it is for a regular iPad, it really expands the device will beyond a normal iPad. This is a great for me because I travel and use my iPad as a laptop for most of my internet and streaming use. It is perfect for me, and due to the pandemic going on it really helped with the home schooling. I highly recommend this device for this particular iPad, over the majority of the options on the market currently.

I tried this out on my sons’ iPad 7th gen and was impressed by how well it works. The keyboard works as expected and I love the track pad area. The keyboard backlight is also great. This uses the smart connector on the iPad to get its power so no issues with pairing or needed to worry about additional cords to charge. The material is durable on the case itself (a nice textured material) which makes me think it will last. It does have some weight and bulk but it’s not too bad. I do like that you can remove the iPad part from the keyboard part and still have a great case although the front of the iPad wouldn’t be protected. There is also a holder that can house your Apple Pencil or Logi Crayon (which my son uses). Overall this is a solid option to consider if you’re looking for a quality keyboard case that you can easily detach the iPad from while still having some protection with a case on the back.

Overall I do like this keyboard case. It feels like a quality product. It is a bit thicker than any other case I've used and I like that. Feels like it will protect the iPad well. The keyboard clicks are nice to use as is the track pad. The backlit keys are excellent. Just bright enough to use and not be distracting. I only have two complaints. One, the keyboard is held to the iPad magnetically. This is fine and I've used this same type of design with other tablets. But with this case, I find the keyboard detaches from the iPad to easily. Could be from the added weight of the sturdiness of the keyboard. Not a deal breaker, but something to be aware of. Second, unlike other cases (and unlike laptops) I can't use the arrow keys to scroll up and down with web pages. To be fair, this is probably a limitation of the operating system and not the case. But again, not a deal breaker. At the end of the day it's a very nice keyboard case that I highly recommend.

Right off the bat I'll say that this is a great quality case and that if being a little on the heavy side is not a problem for you, consider this a 5-star review and pick one of these up. As far as protection goes and being able to keep your iPad nice and secure this thing fits the bill. The added luxury and convenience of the keyboard is awesome and allows the versatility of using your iPad conventionally or as a little mini-laptop. Very convenient when you want to type, take some notes, or reply to an email and prefer a haptic keyboard versus typing on a screen. Which brings me back to the 1-star deduction; weight. It isn't so much a problem in my opinion, but other family members mentioned that it does add a little bit of heft to the equation. Protection comes at a cost, so I totally get this, but in the vein of full disclosure, I feel I should at least mention it/point it out as it was a reoccurring talking point. If I could only deduct half a star, I would, but I can't, so a full star it is. Highly recommended, especially if you get find it on sale.

If you like the convenience of an iPad but would rather have a more conventional keyboard and trackpad this is an ideal solution. The keys are properly responsive, back-lit for dark workspaces, and include iPad shortcut keys that are very useful. The trackpad is properly responsive and easy to use. The kickstand is adjustable to many levels and stays in position very well. It is powered by the Smart Connector so you don't have to worry about batteries or charging which is very convenient. I really like the way it looks and feels. My only complaint is that the keyboard cover can't fold over fully to the back of the iPad without it coming off so you could use it like you normally would a tablet with a regular cover . The keyboard is also just heavy enough that it can come disengaged from the Smart Connector fairly easily if you are not careful.

With all the distance learning watching my daughter type a paper one finger at a time was horrific. This keyboard changed all that. I love that it has a smart connector and charges from the iPad itself. It's lightweight and doesn't add that much bulk or weight. My favorite things are the backlight Keyboard, and the apple pencil holder built in the top. Setup took only seconds and we have not had trouble connecting it since. I cannot recommend this enough. If you travel for business or have children currently distance learning this is a must have.

I love this product. The keyboard is so nice and easy to take on and off with the magnets and has a thin low profile. The combo with the protective cover and stand is perfect for portability and using like a laptop. The color is great too, very sleek.

I haven't had an Ipad since the first one came out. My girlfriend recently purchased a mid-2019 iPad for Xmas. I use the iPad for streaming and web surfing. I first want to say the quality and look of this case is beyond what I expected. The case and keyboard make the iPad look a lot better, it is sturdy, and the keyboard keys light up. I haven't seen the battery life on my iPad now that I am using the keyboard feature. The keyboard is detachable. The case is attached to the iPad but can be removed if you bend the corners. The keys light up, and the trackpad is big enough to move comfortably. The keys are okay. I don't feel uncomfortable when typing. I am thinking of using a separate mouse instead of my trackpad. It is my personal choice. I start my graduate studies in August. I plan to use my iPad now when I don't want to use my laptop. The keyboard and case make my iPad feel like an excellent alternative to a computer. I like it. The only knock I have on it is that the keyboard can detach if you are not careful. Magnets attach the keyboard, so it is easy for it separated if you don't hold it right or swing it. I plan to purchase an elastic holder to keep both my iPad and keyboard together when I travel. No big issue, but I thought I bring it up, other than that I love my new case and keyboard. I highly recommend it.

Works great! I like the way the keys feel on the keyboard and the fact that you can adjust the brightness, change volume, and lock the iPad all using the keyboard. It detaches easily if you don’t need to use it. Stand works great too. Seems sturdy.

This case is a great improvement over the previous model with a couple remaining quirks. Overall it is a wonderful keyboard case that I would easily recommend if you are in the market for a keyboard case. The build quality is top notch. It has a very premium feel to it. And this will most likely come down to personal preference, but I actually prefer the more clothy feel of this case over the previous model’s more rubbery feel. This one just feels a lot nicer in the hand. I love that this case now uses the iPad’s smart connector for power and connectivity rather than batteries and bluetooth, respectively. It makes it so much more convenient. While I never ran out of batteries on the old model, it’s just nice to know I will never have to worry about it. Another welcome addition in this model is that the keyboard itself is separate from the rest of the case. This comes in really handy when you don’t care to use the keyboard, say when you are just reading something, or browsing the web. This was one of my main problems with the old model, that the keyboard was constantly attached, which would add a lot of bulk. Now that you can remove it, it makes the whole thing much more convenient. Now you have the convenience of a keyboard when you need it, and the comfort of a normal case when you don’t. As for the feel of the actual keyboard, I am just a bit disappointed. The keys feel just a bit softer than the previous model, and sometimes I’m not quite sure if I hit a key or not, causing just a bit more incorrect keystrokes than I would prefer. And one thing that they carried over from the previous model that is still a bit annoying is that the delete key seems to be just a bit too small. So about 50% of the time, if I go to hit delete, I end up hitting the = key instead. It can get quite annoying. And lastly, the whole case can be quite bulky, but this isn’t as big of an issue now that you can take the keyboard off when not needed. In conclusion, while there are a few quirks here and there that can be a bit annoying, overall it is still a great option for a keyboard case, and one you should not overlook if you are in the market.

The setting for adjusting the backlight dimming on the keyboard is not available with new update from Logitech. All you get from the Logitech Touch Combo app is a wallpaper. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the app but that setting is not there. It’s like I’ll have to reset my Ipad 8 and start fresh without updating the Touch Combo app. Logitech, if you read this; please bring back this feature in a new update. I don’t need my backlit keys to stay on too long and drain the Ipad’s batter.

I have this to my daughter and watching her with it was like night and day. She's on her iPad more and not just Roadblockd and YouTube but getting ready for the coming school year. Having a keyboard is good, kids the screen clean. Oh yeah and it's a case, a good one too.

Love it! Works great. I like thar it easily detaches and reattaches with the magnetic connection. The back stand prop is very adjustable to view at different angles or lasting down.

When I needed a new computer, I had a small budget to work with. I purchased an iPad, though would have preferred a laptop. I later purchased this keyboard, and it was the perfect way to make it more laptop-like. The keys feel and look just like those on a laptop. The magnetic attachment is very strong, which is handy, since I never take the keyboard off! It's sturdy and good looking. I would recommend the Logitech to anyone wanting a more laptop-like experience with a tablet.
