Trying to find a case/keyboard combo that uses the smart connector on the iPad Pro is pretty much impossible if you're not using the Apple Magic Keyboard. This is an excellent alternative if you're not willing to shell out the $350+ USD for Apple's product. The Combo Touch Keyboard Case from Logitech feels like a very solid product! Key spacing is good. You actually get the function key row! Backlighting of the keys! Fully functional trackpad! Very durable case! The ability to remove the keyboard and lie the iPad down flat or use the kickstand to write or draw is a great plus! That being said, there are some slight cons to this wonderful keyboard case. The amount of weight it does add to the iPad overall is a bit much at times. Because I do IT work in a manufacturing plant, I need to be a bit mobile to troubleshoot and take notes/document issues. While at times I'll leave the keyboard at my desk and just take my Apple Pencil with me, it's still pretty heavy to hold and write at the same time. While at the desk with the keyboard, use with the kickstand does take up a considerable amount of space. Because of the amount of space it takes up, you can almost forget about trying to use this to type while it's sitting on your lap. It's just too big and floppy to try and balance properly. Overall, a fantastic product and alternative to Apple's offering, especially coming in about $120 USD cheaper.

The Logitech Combo Touch is a game changer. I bought this keyboard case for my 12.9” 2018 3rd generation iPad Pro and it fits like a glove. As a dental student, I like having the ability to use one device for writing as well as typing and this case allows for both, while providing full protection of the iPad at all times. It’s extremely versatile and allows the iPad to be used in every way possible—as a laptop, a tablet, a sketchpad/notepad, and an entertainment device. The only reason why I gave it 4/5 stars was because of a few nitpicks: (1) there’s no sleeve or flap to secure your Apple Pencil, (2) the case adds some bulk and weight to the iPad, (3) the magnet used to open and close the case is pretty strong and I wish there was a small flap for easier opening.

• The entire Logitech Combo Touch case has the texture of woven fabric. It’s not, but it sure looks like it and even feels like it. For those of us with hand strength and grip issues, this slightly textured surface gives our hands just a little extra bite to help protect the expensive iPad from being dropped. Sleek and slick surfaces might look great in ad photos, but are actually not all that great in real life. Over the years, I’ve tended to favor the ugly, truck-tire-looking cases to protect my iPads. But Logitech, with the Combo Touch, has shown me you can have both, protection and a really good looking case. • I’ve used a lot of keyboard cases with magnetic attachment points to join the two together. But, I’ve never used one with magnets so strong that the keyboard jumps up from the table to attach itself to the iPad case. And it positions itself perfectly every time. And I do mean every single time. I tried it over and over and over again. Logitech, how do you do that? • When you first connect your iPad to the keyboard you’re told you need to install the Logitech Control app. After you do, you’re left scratching your head wondering if it does anything beyond offering the user one control, a simple, slide switch to turn on/off notification of a firmware update? I can’t find that it does. Must be for future use. • I’m typing this review on the Combo Touch keyboard and really enjoying it. The keys offer a soft, satisfying, tactile-only click without any annoying, audible clack or something artificial like that. Just a pleasant, tactile feedback so you can sense the action. I’m in a darkish corner of my home office where the backlit key illumination is turned all the way up giving me plenty of light to see the keys as I type. Loving it so far. • I just discovered something wonderful and interesting about the backlit keys. To prolong battery charge, they darken fairly quickly after your last keypress, 30 seconds of inactivity to be exact. However, you don’t have press a key to re-illuminate them and risk typing a character you may have to delete. All you have to do is touch the iPad screen and the backlit keys will re-illuminate. A very nice feature to have when using the device in a dimly lit room. Because even the screen illumination isn’t sufficient to adequately read the dark keys unless you tilt the screen forward to bathe the keys in light. Which I now realize is a pain when compared to this great feature. Good job Logitech. • No need to wake up the keyboard when you open the case like all the Bluetooth keyboard cases that I’ve owned over the years. This is another one of those aha moments where you didn’t realize something was annoying until you were shown something better. Kudos to the Logitech engineers for thinking outside the box on this idea. • If you need any of the enhanced features that are integral to the iPad’s onscreen keyboard, it’s only a single click away with the keyboard button on the Logitech Combo Touch. Which quickly displays it or puts it away with a single tap. • When viewing videos and listening to music, the start/pause, forward, reverse, mute, and volume keys respond instantly, even when the keyboard is asleep. Which is great when you need to answer the phone or respond to some other interruption. My other Bluetooth keyboards would need a couple of seconds to wake up while I impatiently kept tapping at the mute or pause buttons. • The touchpad is very interesting. It’s like one big button that moves up and down slightly when pressed and has a tactile click like a mouse button. Fascinating. I’ve never used a touchpad like this before. It works quite well and is very accurate, silky smooth, and suffers no stuttering or delay. • The flip out stand is stiff, very stiff. So stiff that I would suggest that Logitech incorporate some sort of pull tab or finger hole to help open it. I worry that using a fingernail to pry it open will eventually do some damage. Maybe it will open easier with time. But, once open, it stays in place and props the iPad up nicely. It has a wide range of positions from near vertical to somewhere around 45 degrees. All perfect for viewing the screen while typing. • The keyboard’s battery drain on the iPad is negligible. Actually, it doesn’t seem to drain the iPad any faster. Technically, it has to since it draws its power from the iPad. But, it’s hardly noticeable. • One last item to mention. Logitech has impressed me with the function of their power button on the upper left side of the iPad’s protective case. It works as good at pressing the iPad’s power button as if you were just pressing the iPad power button without the case installed. That may only impress me because I ordered another brand’s keyboard case when I bought my new iPad Pro 12.9 last winter. Even new, that case’s power button is basically non-functional and I’ve always had to partially remove the iPad from the protective case to actuate the iPad power button for things like verifying the installation of an app from the App Store. So in comparison, this correctly designed button on the Combo Touch is a dream to use. • Overall, the Logitech Combo Touch is a delightful keyboard. I can find nothing bad to say about it. It is one of the more expensive keyboard cases on the market for the iPad Pro 12.9, but it seems to have the advanced engineering and latest features to justify the higher cost. If you can afford a new iPad Pro 12.9, you can afford the ComboTouch keyboard case and I don’t believe you’ll regret spending the extra money. It comes highly recommended by me.

I love my keyboard! Has a great typing experience. No lag. Touchpad works great. Only complaints are it’s a bit heavy (but you know your iPad is protected) and the kick stand is a little hard to adjust, but other than that, it’s perfect. Purchase it!!!

Keyboard disconnect and randomly doesnt register. Case flares up on speaker port area and super heavy. Returned within a month.

The Logitech - Combo Touch iPad Pro 12.9" Keyboard Case for Apple iPad really enhances your experience with an already outstanding device. I love the trackpad and backlit keyboard. Best of all, it just works! No issues with connecting the case to the iPad, no incompatible device messages. Just power on your iPad and away you go. The keyboard is very responsive and the keystrokes are precise regardless of how fast you type, the input onscreen is always accurate. the backlit keyboard is outstanding. Bright and clear so that you always know which keys you are pressing even in the dark. An even more impressive feature of the keyboard is the backlight is adjustable so you can reduce the glare in situations that call for it. The keyboard light also automatically adjusts to the light in the surrounding area to optimize your visibility of the keys. The trackpad feels like one you would find on a high quality laptop. It's very smooth and the motions & gestures work flawlessly. I appreciate being able to move seamlessly between the touchscreen and the trackpad. The frame of the Logitech - Combo Touch iPad Pro 12.9" Keyboard Case is very durable. All the corners are smooth, making it easy to put inside a backpack or suitcase. It's also very comfortable to hold. The angled upright mount is sturdy and provides a comfortable viewing angle when in the car or on a plane. Even when laying in bed. The compact design keeps you iPad and case from feeling bulky. This is especially important to me when placing the iPad in a backpack as I bring it with me on most trips and outings. The Logitech - Combo Touch iPad Pro 12.9" Keyboard Case really makes your iPad Pro feel protected and it adds a few very neat features that make using the iPad more enjoyable and comfortable. I highly recommend this case for the iPad Pro 12.9".

Logitech knocked it out of the park with this design. There is little that I could think of to improve this keyboard, trackpad, case combination. I use multiple devices ranging from a Windows Laptop, MacBook Air, Surface Book Pro and my iPad Pro. This keyboard case seems to have taken the best of all them and combined it into one case. The first design feature that impressed me is the ability to have a protective cover on the outside of my expensive iPad that protects it without the keyboard. It has a slot just the right size for my Apple Pencil to sit on top of it and charge it. When I want to add the keyboard, it simple magnetically slips in place with no Bluetooth connectivity needed. It just seamlessly works with no setup. Then it incorporates the kickstand design to hold the screen up at a perfect angle for working. The keyboard is outstanding as well. The keys are well spaced with a home button similar layout to my MacBook Pro. The keys are tactile enough to work nicely without a loud sound for each key press. The backlit feature is really nice for nighttime use and the brightness seems to adjust with the lighting conditions in the room. The trackpad is responsive and works as well as any that I have used. The keyboard folds up nice to give me a fairly thin and compact case even when everything is fully attached. There is no charging necessary, as it is powered by the iPad itself. So, no extra charging cable to carry around. If I would make one recommendation, I would add a USB C connection to the keyboard so that the iPad USB C connector could be used for storage if charging is needed. The material is comfortable and this is a great option for making your iPad more productive. I use mine all day long and found that this makes it even better for typing and navigating.

This case has made my iPad my new daily carry, it literally makes carrying my laptop unnecessary. It’s lighter, smaller, and now just as functional as my bulky, heavy laptop! I love the feel and finish of the folio and keyboard, it’s grippy, but not too rough. It’s almost like denim, and will remind you if your favorite pair of jeans! Now, down to the most important features… not the ones that that you may think are important, but the ones that you’ll find yourself using day after day… The storage for the Apple Pencil is essential, I just need it and this case has it. Would I like to see a more secure storage method? Sure. But after using this daily for several weeks I have not had the pencil pop off once. Not one time. It’s been in and out of my bag and used daily. So turns out it’s fine! The next feature is the fact that this used the smart connector on the iPad to attach. Why is that important? A few reasons actually… first, it eliminates the need to charge this case separately from having to charge your iPad!!! I cannot tell you how convenient that is! On my old case I have another usb cable just to charge my keyboard and it got annoying quick. It also means that I can quickly detach this keyboard from my iPad and use it separately, more like a traditional desktop keyboard. This is exciting for a few reasons, but mostly because it’s more comfortable end ergonomic! Overall, this is the best case and keyboard I’ve ever used, and absolutely 5 stars! I love the new features, love the finish and feel, and now love using my iPad more than my laptop!

Love this keyboard and stand. Does exactly what I need it to and so much less $ than the Apple versions. Works perfectly and I love the track pad.

it feels and looks great. but a few things. if you take off the keyboard, then it does not have a cover for the front. if you leave the keyboard on, it does not have a way to fold the keyboard behind. also no spot for a apple pencil. it has a spot on top so while using you can put the pencil on to charge. but if you pack it up, pencil falls off as there is nothing to hold it in. a lot of cases now have a spot that also holds the pencil. outside of those things its pretty nice to have. if you just have a ipad and do some school work with it. its easy to type with. it also has a track pad that works even if on your app screens. overall, i recommend if you are looking to make your ipad like a laptop.

Simply put, you need this case lol. Can't get any simpler than that. It's so aesthetically pleasing and fits perfectly. Keyboard is sizeable but can't expect too much with thinness and portability in mind. The trackpad is a game changer for me as I was questioning how it would even work. I have an Apple Pen and there's no place to put it which would have been nice, but this is a case for the iPad itself, not the Apple Pen in mind. Have to give Logitech a pass for that. I feel like I'm using a mini computer when the case is attached, especially with the backlit keyboard. Highly recommended in my book.

This keyboard has great protection for the iPad. I really like having a large and useable trackpad on the keyboard. Typing is a snap as the keys are big with nice space between them, close to full size keyboard. Also having function keys is a bonus to be able to do many things other keyboards lack. Having the keyboard keys light up makes this easy to use in a dark room. I do really like that I can separate the keyboard from the cover and iPad is still protected and then I use it as a tablet, connect the keyboard then like a laptop. Top notch product to make my iPad a work horse.

This is a top of the line case and keyboard and function like it. Was able to get on sale, which at that price definitely worth it. This is an old model so make sure you check which version you have.

The Combo Touch is in my opinion the best choice for Keyboard Cases on the iPad Pro. My favorite part is that when you are not the keyboard it pops right off! Comes in handy when using the iPad for watching movies and TV Shows. When using the keyboard the keys feel excellent! Backlighting is good and not needing a separate charge like most aftermarket keyboards is essential in making this case the best. I prefer it over the Apple branded one!

I have been a big fan of Logitech and have used other keybaord cases and they have all operated perfectly. This one is an upgrade from the others and I really enjoyed the backlit as the ones I had did not have that feature. It fit perfectly and works right after you connect it to the ipad. The trackpad works as it should and it isn't that heavy to carry around. I would highly recommend for your case and keyboard.

It is a very versatile keyboard for the ipad, probably even better than the magic keyboard! Love the trackpad, angle of the screen adjustments and magnetic apple pencil holder.

I love Logitech products. I had an 11 inch iPad Pro Logitech keyboard that I loved and this one is no exception. It's even better. No need to charge as it's connected to the iPad. Nice and thin. Then the best thing about it, the detachable keyboard, is perfect. This is a great alternative to the astronomical price of Apple's floating keyboard. (BTW, this M1 iPad Pro is a powerhouse)
