To our surprise, this mouse won’t work if it’s plugged in keyboard’s usb interfaces. It works when it’s connected directly to the PC. For our desktop PC, that’s not acceptable. Returned it because of that.

The build quality of the mouse is solid. I found the shape is a little too narrow and I didn't feel very comfortable so eventually returned it.

Hello theoldschool! Sorry to hear the MX518 Wired Optical Mouse wasn't what you were hoping for. It does bring back the same shape the G5 Laser Mouse had, but it's really designed to replicate the previous MX518 mouse. All in all, it's a bit lighter than its predecessor, it has the updated HERO 16K Sensor with DPI settings that can be switched on the fly, and also includes on-board memory allowing you to store up to 5 different profiles on the mouse. My previous original mx518 were still working though super old. Replaced with two of these and one failed within the first year.

Hi DBMom, I'm sorry that the G MX518 mouse had some lag issue. I hope you installed Logitech's G Hub software and changed the settings on the mouse. There you can adjust the DPI as well as program the buttons on the mouse. This can help with perceived lag issues from the out of box experience. If you haven't done so already, make sure to download the free G Hub Software https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025298133 that will allow you to update the firmware of your mouse (and correct any potential problems with it), allow you to customize your features to your liking, and save profiles on the on-board memory as well. If the software doesn't help, try different USB ports on your computer (make sure the mouse isn't plugged in a USB Hub) in case one might be faulty. And if that still doesn't solve it, know that the MX518 mouse has a 2-year warranty from Logitech, so click the Support link on the product page https://www.logitechg.com/en-us/products/gaming-mice/mx518-gaming-mouse.910-005542.html where it says "Support" should you need to. - Mathieu from Logitech
