Customers are saying
Customers are positive about the G MX518 Wired Optical Gaming Mouse's comfortable shape, upgraded sensor, and excellent price-to-performance ratio. Many appreciate its classic design and accuracy, while some find the scroll wheel noisy and the weight a bit heavy. A few users reported issues with the cable and overall functionality. The DPI adjustability is also a frequently praised feature.

Glad they revived this mouse
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the original MX518 mouse and really enjoyed it until it broke after years of use. With this having gone on sale December 2020 for only $20 it was a steal. The design is more modern than the old "dented" looking one and the sensor has been updated. I've gone through a couple Logitech G602 wireless mice recently whose lifespan seems to be about 2 years so I'm hoping this MX518 has the durability of the original and lives far longer than Logitech's current offerings do. The click on this is much more satisfying than the G602, the mouse is still comfortable and ergonomic, and I find the buttons on this mouse to be a lot more usable than the 6 button cluster on the G602. I had to double my DPI here coming from that mouse in order to get it to feel the same, which is no problem because this mouse has a ridiculous max DPI. The sides of this mouse feel harder and smoother than the original and a lot less grippy so I marked quality as 4/5. A braided and/or removable cable would have also been welcome, but for the price I can't complain. Overall I'm very happy so far, and hope this goes on sale again sometime so I can pick up a spare (like I wish I had done with the original).

Great throwback to G5, but crummy scroll wheel
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Nice throwback to the G5. Great ergonomic feel for larger hands. No lazy clicks when my fingers rest on the buttons. Fingers don't drag on the mousepad. Thin flexible wire free of bends thanks to packaging method. Complaint: Mouse wheel scrolling feels very crummy as if it needs lubrication. Slight cons: Side material is a bit slick when picking up to reposition. Thumb buttons are a bit out of reach. The G502 is currently at the same price and is far far superior IMO.
