I like illuminated mice; they're easy to find in the dark. So when my old mouse broke, I wanted to find something like this. There are some caveats. It's a fairly big mouse; if you have small hands or like small mice, it may be too big. And I'd rather the LEDs just showed colors, not the stupid Logitech logo. More significantly, perhaps, although there are nominally five buttons plus the scroll wheel (standard right and left buttons, plus two small ones under the left thumb and one in the center by the scroll wheel), I did not find instructions on how to program them; on the Mac, out of the box at least, they seem useless. Of course, there are lots of utilities that can surely program them. (I haven't bothered -- the buttons are too small for me to handle them conveniently.) So I can imagine improvements to this mouse, most of which would consist of things that make it LESS expensive. But it's inexpensive enough that you can just buy it and ignore the buttons that ignore you, and you'll do just fine.
