    Great for what I paid

I picked these up for $79, which as I understand is a fantastic price. They regularly sell for $129 at BB as well as Amazon, Newegg, TigerDirect etc. So I couldn't pass them up for that price. I have 2 brothers that said they are the best headphones they've ever gamed with. The sound is in fact good, but I was not left thinking, "wow, these are incredible!" even with the price I paid, which I thought was high, I am not blown away...but I am happy with the purchase. They come with a few different headpads that definitely is a plus. The ear cups seal all around the ear and are made of very comfy leather which helps with sealing out ambient noise. The cord is a cable type which is a higher quality, but it is soooo stiff, that it won't straighten out. It still has all the kinks from being tied up in the box. USB connector is a plus but won't plug in to a lot of surround systems as you'll need 1/8" plug, but this is just preference. I would suggest purchasing these, but wait until the price is below $100.

Headset lives up to price tag

So I just purchased this headset yesterday and so far I love them. I was a little bit hesitant to shell out the rather large amount of money for this headset but after having only used them for a day I have to say the sound quality is absolutely amazing and truly holds up to the standard that you would expect from Logitech. I’m a pretty big online gamer and I have to say that while I was in game and was walking around items and to hear them actually sound like they are moving around me and changing position is truly amazing. Right out of the box they feel like a solid set of headphones. I was a little concerned that since I’m running the release candidate of Windows 7 that there were going to be some driver compatibility issues but I quickly discovered that there weren’t any, I installed the software without any issues. The software that comes with the headset is pretty simple to use and is straight forward. My only concern is that the headset is a little stiff and kinda gives you that feeling like if you move them the wrong way that you might break them, but that might just be because they are new and go away with time. I would highly recommend this headset to all my friends and I have as a matter of fact already done so. If you are willing to shell out a little extra money on a headset I would recommend getting these. It’s just like the old saying goes “You get what you pay for”.

Good all around headset. I'm very impressed with this headset. Good clean sound while gaming AND listening to music and very comfortable. I did not expect these headphones to sound so good with my mp3's, so that was a bonus. I haven't tested these on my PS3 yet, but another reviewer said they worked well. Great deal for $80 sale price. I definitely recommend these headphones!

I got this for my husband since his other one died. We use a lot of logitech products and they never fail us. He loves it! I don't hear the game coming out of the headset so I can do my homework at the same time he is playing. He gets good use out of it so the price wasn't a big deal. There were also others to choose from but he specifically wanted one without the controls on the wires because they get caught in his chair. This one has the controls for volume and such on the actual ear piece. It is perfect fit!

I bought these because I am a big fan of logitech. When I bought them and opened them up I was quite impressed with the sound. Nice deep bass easy to use and install. The sound could be better but if you've never used a better headphone you probably won't care. After using the Sennheiser PC350's you will notice the difference in quality. Having the extra buttons on the side is extremely nice to have as is the easy mute microphone. The biggest flaw with these headphones is in the part that connects the ear cup to the bridge. This problem developed within two weeks of owning the headset. There is a plate that has 4 screws that developed a small crack at first. Over time the crack grew to the point they broke completely. The Best Buy I took them back to gave me store credit, however the rep told me that normally they do not take these back EVEN with the PRP because it is considered physical damage. Logitech said they have had calls about this problem and that they would take them back if Best Buy did not. I also did some searching with google and found this problem on other forums as well. The solution is real simple. Make the back plate with the screws metal and not plastic and they will last. I've never seen a pair of headphones do this and I was shocked. I do hope that Logitech does fix this issue because for now I cannot recommend these. Especially when Sennheiser has dropped the price of the PC350 to the same price.

The epitome of sound is here

This is the best headset i have ever used in all my years of gaming. The sound quality is superb and unprecedented. The 7.1 surround sound is truly 7.1, playing left 4 dead i could hear boomers coming up from behind me or to the right of me it was a life saver. I actually caught myself saying, "Wow i'm glad i have THIS headset." The people i was playing with really noticed an upgrade to my microphone too, with much less background noise. The G keys are really helpful to when it comes to using VENT or any other program you need a hot key for. Did i mention how comfortable they are? O well i had these babies on literally all night when i got them, and after, i still felt no discomfort nor irritation, which is rare for even the most premium of headphones but logitech pulled it off flawlessly. Sure they are pricey but if you have the money these are the only headphones you will ever need for gaming or general use. Save up and get these already!

    Great Gaming Headset

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Great 7.1 audio works in all my games on steam. It is not "true" 7.1 surround. Many people are confused by this. The most durable headset I have bought, after going through countless others. The cable is covered in the sheathing you might find on power supply cords. Software is very easy to install and I had this thing ready to use in a matter of minutes. Voice morphing is well, interesting. No real reason to use it though. The Programmable keys on the side of the headset can be a real help. They are limited to certain programs, however. I have mine set up to skip songs on iTunes. One of the most durable headsets I have owned. The microphone is clear and very sensitive. This would not be great to use with noise in the background. The price is another factor however. $130 was more than I wanted to pay. My turtle beach did not cost near as much as this headset, however these are much more comfortable.

I tried a pair of Razer headphones for the same price range, and actually laughed out loud in the store at the difference. Logitech knows what they're doing. We will see about the durability of the G35, as I just got them, but they seem to be sturdily constructed. The frequency range is the perfect width, bass is actually reigned in for once (so many gamers love their bass...?) and the intended mix of whatever your listening to is very honestly represented (would ALMOST use them for rough mixing in the studio). I literally just plugged in the usb and they worked immediately, no issues installing anything at all. All in all, I never review anything, and I felt like I just had to review these. If this is your price range, look no further.

I purchased the G35 for my grand nephew to use when he visits and for me to use with my laptop to listen to my MP3‘s. As with the other customer reviews, I agree that the G35 is very comfortable and the sound quality is as good as my Logitech Z-5500 Digital speakers for my desktop computer. I like that the controls are placed on the headset rather than on the cable, although it took some time to get comfortable with where each button is located. The only negative, in my opinion, is that the braided cable is too stiff, kinks, and knots too easily. I would prefer a more flexible and supple cable. The cable reminds me of the old braided cable that was on a headset, from World War Two, that my father brought home from his tour in the Navy. Sorry Logitech, but it is true.

    Very solid. Minor annoyances, 8.5/10

The comfort isn't bad in my opinion. My head is a bit larger than average and I have no issue with it. It's not the most comfortable I have worn, but not the worst by far. Full USB means good digital sound and etc but has some minor annoying things. The volume adjusts digitally which is annoying because it turns down the master volume of your operating system, not just the receiving end(the headset itself). The mic works amazingly clear, lots of stuff is adjustable, and it performs very solid. Mine had a wiring issue as it shorted out my PC a time or two, however after replacing it I had no issues. The different top head bands are nice, but are nothing extreme. Leather cups aren't bad, just not the best.

All Hail Best Buy Return Policy

First impressions: obvious high quality materials; long cord nicely shrouded in braided cloth but all kinked from being folded up, maybe it will relax overtime; bow is covered with nice looking rubber that doesn't fit well against the padding leaving gaps that spoil the otherwise excellent appearence. The cup padding is leatherette and squeeky. The cups do a good job of blocking out ambient sound but they also keep in moisture and body heat. These headphones are HEAVY, 3/4's of a pound! My head is average size and I adjusted the headset as open as possible but still experienced a clamp-like grip that was painfully uncomfortable after an hour or so. These headphones sound exceptionally good. The software is glitch free and the features are nice. They sound awesome but they hurt! Headphones are like shoes, you have to try them on. Maybe they'll fit you fine in any event Best Buy's Easy return policy means no worries, Megalodon here I come!

    Great sounds, shotty construction

I have to say, these were great headphones until the plastic coating on the ear cans started falling apart. Human oils don't interact well with cheap plastic coating... especially on a part of the body that tends to get warm quickly when surrounded by something. I have no complaints on the sound quality, mic, or durability... all great, however Logitech could have used different materials in the construction of the ear cans. After a few months of use, the black coating on the padding started flaking away and you end of with little pieces of plastic coating everywhere... ear, face, hair, etc. Got to be so gross I stopped using them and purchased a pair of Turtle Beach headphones that have nice clothe-lined cans. Haven't looked back since! Little things like this will turn me away from an otherwise good product... sorry Logitec!

This headset is the best I have ever used, very comfortable best thing about this, sound is great, surround sound is awesome (7.1), its got pretty good noise canceling also, which I was surprised. mic works great friends can hear me great on this, if you use vent or TS, Great for GAMING!, music, movies. And this thing is sturdy not some thin little headset. If you want a great headset you have to spend money well worth the buy.

If you're a serious gamer, you must have one of these. 7.1 surround sound is compatible with the new games out there. I always play CODWAW and I could hear my enemies before they could hear me (the logitech ad was correct about it). This headset will really immerse you into the game. First time I used it I felt like I was inside the game. This headset can be worn for hours and your ears won't hurt. Great for watching blu-ray/dvd. The Logitech ad was right on. Everything they said was true. So, if you're still not sure about getting this headset. Go ahead and try it. You won't be disappointed like I did.

I bought this for gaming and this has to be the best headsets I've purchased so far. The quality of the sound is amazing. I can hear foot steps from miles away, crisp. When playing music, the surround system makes the quality of the music gets even better. I feel like I am at a concert hall frealz. It is very comfortable and it comes with 3 detachable head cushion just in case your head wouldn't fit into the headset. I truly recommend this product.

Been a gamer since Apple IIe, build my own rigs, yada, yada. I've been through a LOT of headsets. Inline volume control would short out, wire would short inside headset, etc. I've owned the G35's for over 6 months. Sound is crisp and crystal clear. While I played MW2, in certain terrain, I could hear people sneaking up on me with Ninja on. I'd been called a cheat more than once. I give the credit to owning a great sound card and a great headset. The microphone is great, very receptive. I've heard some complain about the mute light being on the boom and not being able to see it. Seriously? Its a bright red LED on the inside (closest to your face) of the boom. The volume control is on the left side of headset, no problems. The biggest thing I love (about all G-series devices) is the cording around the cables. Protects it from kinks, pulls and rubs. Side note, the voice changing software is a riot. And the 3 definable buttons on the headset make it easy to laugh like a Space Squirrel (like Alvin & Chipmunks), then switch to Robot (Optimus Prime) and back to normal, lol.

quality sound - not so quality design

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Pros: Crisp, high-quality sound. Decent bass reproduction which doesn't oversaturate the sound. 7.1 surround emulation truly does provide a much more immersive gaming experience. It cannot replace the true 7.1 theater system experience though. Volume control on the headset is very handy. (A great feature I originally thought I wouldn't use!) Software is user-friendly and allows fine-tuning of the EQ. Cons: Flimsy construction. I spent hours studying reviews of various 7.1 headsets. The G35 is plagued by cheap plastic used for the swivel design where the speakers connect to the head piece. From the moment I took the headset out of the packaging, I could hear the 'creak creak' sound of the plastic slowly getting weaker. See my 'other thoughts' section for my solution to this. Bass could be better. Seems most headsets nowadays don't deliver the bass of oldschool headsets from decades ago. (But they are much lighter, on the other hand.) A little pricey for what it is. Other thoughts: Solution to the flimsy plastic: Buy a $1 roll of black electrical tape and thoroughly wrap the plastic swivel points up. You'll lose the swivel action, but you won't end up with shattered plastic pieces. Another recommendation: Use electrical tape to reinforce about 3 inches of the cable starting at the point where the cable comes out of the left speaker. This will help keep the cable sturdy and should prevent internal breakage at the headset. Do your research - search YouTube for videos. Overall, despite Logitech's shameful approach to engineering this headset, I'm very happy with my purchase. I haven't used the mic so I cannot speak about that.

If your looking for a PS3 headset this is not it

This headset is great for the PC, great surrond sound. One reviewer said they worked great for the PS3 but this is not true. The PS3 does not output game sound thru the USB port, you will only be able to chat in game. If your looking for a PS3 headset then go for the Trittons. If your looking for a PC surrond sound headset then look no further. They are a bit bulky but to some they maybe to heavy and to some they are perfect, just remember not everyone is the same. However i would say the sound they output i think everyone will enjoy.

For a gaming headset, this has a good array of features and the programmable buttons are very handy. Sound quality is excellent. The comfort for extended wear is a little tiring due to the weight of the wire, which is why the wireless headsets are better for long, hours, use. For casual use or short sessions, these are fine. Excellent value for the price and VERY easy to set up and customize with Logitech's excellent software.
