this is a great device, but not quite perfected. The queal that was "fixed" is still there, but it's not what you think. what causes the squeal is actually the treble being over driven and is set to values too high even at defult. so to correct the problem simply turn down the treble. which is fine because if you listen the trebble really should be set about 1/4 to 1/3. so pass that the head set sounds great extremely clear and loud. the surround sound effect isn't quite fully deceptive, but is more pronounced than most surround sound headsets i've tried (have not tried razor, but have tried turttle beach and tritton) also these are much more user freindly with pc users than other console type headsets. the bass is loud and clear just not felt quite as much as i'd like. (i have subs on everything so it's just not what i'm used to) i run music and games at the same time with perfect clarity and surround sound still in effect. you do get a can sound when using surround sound setting with a non 7.1 surround sound signal, but the convienient switch on the muff can fix this to your preffrence on the fly. i have a large head and the phones do seem flimsy so take care, but i got these to fit perffectly with just a little force bending of the crown of the headphones. just becarefull of the swivels since they are a weak point of the design. the head phones are easly to clean since they have "pleather" pads and are not all that heavy though they could fall off if you jerk your head or lean back to far. also since this is usb your comp will switch automatically between these and you normal speakers.

I have searched far and wide for the past 8 months for a decent headset, and I have finally found it. After two major surgeries on my head and neck, which has left me with extensive nerve damage. Any amount of pressure on my ear or head is very painful! This headset covers my ears, the padding is excellent, and there is very little pressure. Thank you Logitech and BestBuy for making this product, and carrying it in your stores. I can finally game for hours in comfort, with crystal clear sound, and not cringe every time I put them on :). The sound quality blew me away, and on top of that I can sound like a chip monk on vent. The hotkeys are a huge bonus, and the software is very user friendly! This headset is top notch!

    Best Headphones to date

I've had them for about two weeks which is plenty of time for me to use them for online gaming, awesome sound in WoW. Folks are heard great in Vent plus they say I sound nice and clear. Listened to some music via ituns player and it sounds great as well. The Sound is great for music, doesn't get too loud compared to my dedicated music headphones but they do just nicely. Only complaint is I should have gotten them sooner. However I would definitely recommend getting the Black Tie Warranty, headsets tend to get messed up pretty quickly no matter what the quality.

    Excellent headset, worth the money

I just upgraded to this headset after my Plantronics Audio .370 decided to start giving me problems in COD4 especially. I first bought the Plantronics GameCom 777 headset, but didn't quite like it. It was awfully large and felt "toy-like." The only plus that that headset had was the microphone tucked away inside the head band. I started reading reviews on this headset after buying the GameCom and decided to go back to the store and buy the G35 headset and test them both. You will not be disappointed with these, especially for FPS. With the surround sound on and COD4 switched to 5.1 sound, because that is the max it can use, I was hearing sounds as if I was hearing them in real life. Not just hear someone around a corner making noise, but actually hear them as I would with my ears. Hear them around the corner, but up a little ways, making a faintest click or reloading or something. Totally cool. Surround sound seems to make listening to music suck a little, but the convenient switch on the headset just shuts it off and music sounds great. Setup is easy with the installed software, especially vs. the GameCom 777. The cord is very long and tough on the outside. It looks and feels like a rope. When you swing up the microphone, within the last inch or so of travel, it will mute itself. It is also very nice having the controls on the left headphone, rather than the cord. There is nothing to get caught or tug on when playing around with the cord. The cord is a little tough out of the box, but in time I believe it will break in. There are only a few bad points, for myself anyways. #1 - The headset is exclusively USB. It will never run on anything but your computer. No swapping to iPod or stereo. No big deal for myself. #2 - The fit is very tight. What I mean is that you feel like you are slipping into a cockpit when putting these on. This is a good thing, but also a bad thing because they can't just be thrown on any old way. I used to throw my old headset on from the back sometimes, but there is no way to do it with these because of the way the ear pieces are shaped. #3 - This is after having taken back the original pair of G35 for the same issue. The issue is, I believe, in how the headset is packaged. When you get the headset, it will come with the left ear piece where everything is, expanded a bit in the packaging. It can never not come expanded because of the way the packaging is designed. I think that this results in the premature breaking in of that side vs. the other side. When playing around with the headset, after you expand both sides to fit your head, the left side is always very quick, vs. the right side, to slide back in if you grab the headset the wrong way. It is not terribly bad, but if you play around with both sides you will see that the left side is a little quicker to go back in, sometimes. I apologize for the choppy review, but I wanted to make sure all of the points got listed. Overall, this headset is worth the money, in my opinion. The surround sound is great in FPS, and the regular sound is great for music and general use. I like the look of the headset because its lines remind me of a stealth fighter. It seems to be well built and I like the feel of the matte black "rubber" coating on the outside. Although this coating has taken to peeling off on my Logitech MX laser mouse, other reviews of this headset have not listed that problem. Only time and wear will tell. Having the controls on the headset, while at first seemed strange, seems to be a lot better than in line. It's easy to lift your hand up and feel for what you need and adjust something accordingly.

I have had a Turtlebeech 7.1 headset for over 1 year. I had mic problems from day 1 and finally gave up and bought the G35. The turtlebeech had good sound but compared to the G35, well it's no contest. The sound quality of the G35 blows the Turtlebeech away. In games you get a true surround sound exoerience. When I first started using them I had to check to see if my sourround sound speaker system was shut off. My gaming friends noticed the improved mic performance the first day. The mic morphing feature is a fun toy. The swapable headset pads let you custom fit the headset. So far, there is no downside to this headset.

I grab them on sale for $79.99 which is a great price for them. I've only had them for 2 days now but here are my thoughts so far. Sound is pretty decent. The surround works good. I wasn't sure on the surround before I bought them because it is simulated surround not hardware but I'm happy with it. They block out pretty much all noise around you. When I have them on with no music going I have a hard time hearing someone talking to me in the same room. The mic quality is really nice. I like the fact that it shuts off when you flip it up. Comfort is my big issue which will may cause me to return them. I can't wear them for more than 20 minute before they drive me nuts. The ear cups are pretty big and put pressure on my jaw which I can't stand. I'm hoping they start to loosen up soon or I may be returning them. To have them even remotely comfortable I have to wear my hood with the headphones over it otherwise they are unbearable. It might be because I'm 6'4" and have a head to match. The cord is nice and long. It has a braided sleeving that matches the sleeving on my Logitech G9x.

I just bought this headset 3 days ago and i LOVE it so far. Great positional audio lets me tell exactly were enemies are coming from. Watched The Lord of the Rings and it sounded amazing in 7.1 surround sound. They replaced the gamecon 777's which i had for about two weeks then returned them. I got them for $90 along with a g500 and g15 keyboard.

I'm an avid gamer and needed a replacement from my Razer Barracuda Headset. I think I've had it with analog-based headsets. USB is definitely the way to go. Easy of setting up, no resonating background noises/static, clear voice chat. I'm very satisfied with this product. It was very easy to setup and configuration with Ventrilo for WoW worked flawlessly and on the first attempt, something that I've never had the pleasure of experiencing with 3.5mm. Clarity with in game sound and music is amazing; I didn't think this kind of quality could be achieved on a headset. Full compatibility with Windows 7 is always great. And the built in profiling and volume/mic management controls on the left ear is more useful than I thought. It's very practically placed so it doesn't take up more space/weight on the physical cord of the unit. Finally, the headset itself is not as heavy as I thought it was going to be and is very comfortable to wear; doesn't get my ears all hot even after prolonged use. Unfortunately, this item is relatively expensive, but imo is well worth the investment. When talking in Ventrilo, it can sound a little funny because the earphones cover your ears so well to ensure great sound quality, that it can be tough to hear yourself talk. On that note, the earphones are pressed firmly again your ear (again, to ensure amazing sound quality) that after about 2 hours of gaming, my jaw started to hurt *a little*. Not a big deal but worth mentioning. Also, for those of you not familiar with 7.1 headsets, remember that sound (voices in particular) can sound "robotic" or "echo-y" at first. This is how 7.1 sounds. You can always use the switch to turn it back into stereo for normal listening mode. Anyway bottom line, aside from some trivial aesthetic discrepancies, it's a great headset if you can sink the money into it, and well worth it for the long run.

I needed a Headset that would allow me to listen to Lord of the Rings Online and DVD/Blu-ray movies during the night time. I wanted surround sound to enhance my listening pleasure. I have to say the G35 does a great job. I'm very picky about the quality of the sound. To be honest, the surround sound controls are basically non-existence. Only supports a bass and tremble control slider. But the G35 does do a decent job of producing surround sound. With the latest software, these headphones are loud. Sadly, to get the most out of these, you do have to turn the sound up higher then you might feel comfortable with. I have a rather large head but these headphones feel great. The mic functions well for gaming and skype. I would rate these 9 out of 10 for price and quality. The cord is very heavy and rugged. The only negative I have so far is certain sounds will product a "buzzing" sound but it's rather rare and I hope will improve as they break in and software is updated. Again, the controls for surround sound is basically missing. But I enjoy listening to about everything I have thrown at it.

I received these as a gift for my birthday in June. First off the sound quality is AMAZING!! The voice morphing is a novelty. The extra long cord is a bit of a hindrance if you don't sit 8 feet away from the computer. I kept mine rolled up to avoid running over it with my chair. After 3 months of use I have noticed the unit cracking where the earpieces connect to the headband at the swivel point. It will randomly drop out while using Ventrilo. I have to tab out of my game, shutdown Vent unplug/replug the headphones and restart vent to get them to come back on. Same with Winamp and a few other programs, if the headphones come unplugged for any reason I have to restart the program to get the sound to come back though the headphones. All in All they are a great buy, as long as you are gentle with them. Logitech has not updated the drivers for them in over a year.

    Needed more Bassfor the Price

Picked this up to replace a Turtle Beach EarForce X1 headset. Pros: This headset is plenty big and the over-the-ear design is really comfortable compaired to other headsets. The cable is nice and long if you have your computer stashed away, the braid is nice too. Replaceable/adjustable headband pads are a neat feature to get the fit/feel you want. I'd say the sound quality is compairable to any Beats headset as far as the clarity goes. Cons: Not enough Bass, hands down. While the heatset uses USB for the connection, they are not USB powered. You HAVE to run the Logitech software on your system to get the Dolby 7.1 surround sound to work. Software lets you adjust basic Bass/Treble settings but still not nearly enough bass for the $129.99 price. Red LED on the Mic can only be set to either "On" when the Mic is disabled, "On" all the time or "Off" all the time. Would have been nice to have the LED on when the Mic is enabled and off when it's not. I'm going back to a headset that has 3.5mm jacks and USB for power.

Great headphones that completely cover your ear which is great if your room is a little on the cold side, however if not please take how hot these things get into consideration. Otherwise great headphones but only get them if you KNOW you need a mic, otherwise get some cheaper just as well built headphones. 5.1 is good but not amazing, better than no loud music/movies at late night

Not much you can really say about a headset to be fair. It does what is says on the tin. Excellent sound and voice quality. If you are a pretty boy you won’t like this headset as it puts big rings on your hair because of the compressions. I’m a pretty good looking guy and hate the hair rings so I tend to only use it when I know I’m not going out.

Despite having virtual 7.1 surround sound, directional cues mostly blended together. Compared World of Tanks with the G35s back to back with the Gamecom 780s. The 780s had distinct sound seperation, I could clearly hear other tanks passing to my left and right. The G35s were not as directionally sensitive. The 780s were also much clearer in the mids and highs. The last killer issue was that the G35s would cut out when plugged into my keyboard USB port. Must be a bandwidth issue; I had to plugged them into a powered USB hub to keep them working. The Gamecom 780s are much lighter, clearer/sharper sound, and their fabric covered cans kept my ears much cooler.

Very excellent looking, feeling and sounding headphones. I have had many headphones both USB and input connection type. The sound is really good with surround sound.
