Not really sure where all these 5 star reviews came from or why this Mouse is a best seller. First off.. the form factor is unnecessarily cluttered with hard edges, oddly shaped buttons (Why??) and a design that clearly favors righties only. To be fair and to get past the initial change from my old Corsair mouse I've been using this replacement for a couple of weeks now. Time has not improved my perceptions of this Mouse. I still struggle to find what should be the easiest and most ergonomic of ANY button on this thing, that being the left mouse button. About 25% of the time my fingers can't feel where this button is without looking at how I'm holding the mouse and re-position my fingers. Really stupid. Also, the placement of the additional buttons literally do nothing more than get in the way and are prone to accidental clicking, especially the resolution change button that ends up getting clicked at least several times a day which sends the mouse cursor flying across the screen. I will say on the plus side, I do like the weight. However, the overall size seems small. I'm about 5'9" and weigh 185. I'm not a huge person, but this feels really small in my hands. Now the worst part, others have mentioned, the mouse wheel is absolutely abysmal, there is absolutely no texture on the wheel whatsoever and spinning it is an exercise in frustration. How are they still manufacturing this thing when the plastic is so rock hard your finger slides over the wheel without actually having it turn. If you click the wheel release button so that the wheel is free spinning, the performance does not improve much. While you might be able to spin it like the prize wheel on the Price is Right, the sensitivity is so light that you scroll when you don't intend to simply by moving the mouse around or accidentally bumping the wheel. There is no happy medium here. This mouse is ready for the hardware graveyard. Logitech is clearly capable of better efforts than this thing, why are they still manufacturing it? Do yourself a favor and find a symmetrical mouse with less eye candy, goofy buttons and a mouse wheel that actually moves when you try to spin it.

The weighs that come with it are a big plus since I tend to prefer the mouse to be on the heavier side, the scroll release button also comes in handy when trying to scroll a slow scrolling website/software.

Thanks for the review! The adjustable weights on the G502 HERO sound perfect for you, allowing you to personalize the weight for optimal comfort and control during gameplay. The scroll wheel release button is another handy feature for navigating long web pages or documents. We're glad you like it!

    Love-hate relationship

There is no doubt that Logitech knows how to make a good mouse - the hardware and build quality are great, and the design is aesthetically pleasing. The finely textured surface on the right side and thumb rest are a nice feature and help maintain purchase on an otherwise slick surface. The RGB lighting is sparse, but differentiates this model as something more than your standard mouse. But what really sets this mouse apart from others is the scroll wheel, and that's what drives my love-hate relationship. I love the fact that the wheel can be "unlocked" with a click of a button, and turn into a free-spinning scroll that really enhances zooming in or out in games, or moving up and down web pages or spreadsheets quickly. But this same feature also renders the middle click function nearly useless, as you are more apt to trigger the left click sensor of the wheel. Finer control of the middle click can be restored by enabling the tension button, but for some reason Logitech choose to go without a rubber (friction) surface on the wheel, so more times than not your finger will slide over the surface without moving it. Pressing harder on the wheel to get some friction will cause a click of the middle button. I really want to love this mouse, but for that reason, I just can't. If you have large hands (as I do), a fingertip-grip is required. This took some getting used to, as I switched from a mouse that allowed a palm grip (my preference). Also, The programmable software (G Hub) is generic and counter-intuitive. I don't want to spend any time tweaking features because of the poor software design. TL;DR: Pros: Free spinning scroll wheel Hardware quality (tracking sensor, buttons) Aesthetically pleasing design Great pricing (around $40 on sale) Customizable (weights, programmable buttons, RGB) Cons: Friction-less wheel surface G Hub software May not work for large hands Right hander's only

I had read that this mouse wasn't the best for people with big hands, but decided to purchase it anyway. I see now that was a mistake. It's not totally ruining my experience, but I had to unbind all of the dpi changing buttons because I found myself accidentally hitting them a lot. Even after a month of daily driving I still accidentally hit the buttons on the side of the mouse which can lead to unfortunate situations in games, but the sensor is nice and so is the weight. Overall this is a great mouse, but if you have bigger hands than most, there are better options. Not to mention how buggy GHub is, it offend glitches out and requires reinstallation, an issue that has been around for a while now.

Mouse is performing amazingly, with no complaints. The wire for it is durable and flexible at the same time so cord management is easy and safe. You can adjust the weight of the mouse with the weights that come with the mouse to really get an exact fit out of the thing. You can also customize the LED lights, set keybinds, and DPI profiles for seamless transitions from one activity to another. I am extremely impressed so far with the quality of the mouse.

This mouse is fantastic! It fits the hand very comfortably, comes with weights to customize how heavy it is, has a customizable RGB logo, an alloy scroll wheel, and programmable buttons. It looks slick and works great. I dont use it for gaming as I actually bought it to do 3D rendering, but I'm sure it would make any gamer proud!

A great wired gaming mouse with a easy to use utility app. Feels great in the hand and if you want a more heavier feel to the mouse. It comes with a small case of 3.6 gram of weights that you can insert in the mouse to make it on the heavier side. I didn't need to use the weights, since I felt comfortable with the weight of the mouse out of the box. It's simply a sleek looking comfortable mouse that gets the job done without having to break the bank.

I love that it can gain weight or lose it in a few simple moves. It gives me hope for my own weight loss. (There are five 3.6g weights you can add or remove from the base of the mouse.) Great for stability control. I do not like the RGB light. It looks nice, but why? It's not a piece of art. It's a piece of equipment and the light does nothing to improve game play so I'm confused as to why it is there. It simply works. It's task is to move the pointer around the screen and it does this easily. With the cord I also don't have to worry about the battery running out at the wrong time. I also don't have to worry about if I am too far away for the signal. Very nice product over all.

I had used the Logitech brand in low-end electrics but I decided to give my son this mouse as a gift and well, delighted, appearance, ergonomics, quality and the easy way to program and use that I decided to buy the keyboard to enjoy the full performance, recommended you can add the weight you want to the mouse and do with it everything you imagine for games, it shipped quickly and on time.

I went from a basic wireless mouse this this beast. What a difference! I was really hesitant to go wired, but it's proving to really pay off. You just can not compare the responsiveness of wired vs wireless. It is also really cool to be able to program all the buttons using the Logitech software. It's made my gameplay on Minecraft and Fortnite SO much better. I have not tried the included weights, but I don't feel like I need them. Great mouse! Go wired!

I decided on this mouse because I have big hands and I saw this one recommended on reddit. Its perfect. I used simple razer mice since 2007 and switched to this one for a new pc. It's better than any razer mouse I've used with its adjustable weight, neat little thumb rest, and sweet scroll button. Some people who own this mouse don't realize that the scroll wheel has 2 settings that can be changed by these two little buttons just below the wheel.

Really nimble and comfortable for gaming, design; whatever. I was a little annoyed at the lack of a bit more distance between the top and bottom buttons on the thumb side as I kept triggering top ones when gaming, but if that's an issue, just un-assign those buttons unless you have slimmer thumbs. lol

Excellent Replacement for a Logitech G9x

I am replacing a Logitech G9x with the G502. While not quite as comfortable as the G9x, this mouse is very comfortable for individuals with larger hands and I value the infinite scroll wheel. It is easy to adjust the DPI settings with the software and save them as profiles. I occasionally notice a 'double click issue' where clicking the left mouse button once registers on my computer twice. It can be frustrating, but does not occur often enough to be a deal breaker.
