Updating an older model that I have been happy with but just wore out. This is an improvement on a great device that's fast, accurate for autocad and gaming.

Lost of buttons, accurate, and not too crazy looking. Great mouse except for the cheap switches logitech uses. After a while you may get the dreaded double click. Many reports of them breaking, but be sure to hit logitech for a replacement if it happens to you.

I love the shape of the mouse it fits perfectly in my hand, it's extremely accurate as well, only reason for the 4 star is it is slightly in the heavier side even without the weights but other than that it's a good mouse.

This review is not indicative of Logitech products in general. I have gone through 2 of these mice so far with issues in the switch? for the left mouse button. Other than the left mouse button I LOVED the mouse. The first issue was a double click resulting from a single click. The second issue was the left button releasing when trying to drag and drop. Logitech was very responsive in helping with the warranty.

Hi, sorry to see you're having some performance issues with your G502 Hero Wired Mouse. Logitech is working hard to correct things like the double clicking, etc. Thanks for your feedback and for sticking with Logitech!

Awesome mouse for the price. Upgraded from a standard mouse and can never go back now. Works like a charm and onboard memory is great for not having to run the software to use all its features.

Bought to replace failing Corsair M65 RGB Pro. Seems to be a viable replacement, but not quite an upgrade. The only negative I can find is the location of DPI adjusting. Overall a good mouse.

Decent gaming mouse. Additional weights are ok. Would have been easier if they just made the mouse weight more. You can turn off the scroll wheel click too.

Pretty great mouse, I upgraded from the normal 502. The mouse feels more precise than it's predecessor and honestly the main reason for the upgrade was for the white accent color to match my current setup.

Amazing mouse, and I got it for sale, so it made the value even better. Even without the sale, I would recommend this to everyone. Simply no other mouse comes close to the success and value of the G502

Overall a great mouse, but download drivers first.

I got this mouse to replace my aging Logitech G500, and this is mostly a straight upgrade. It's not 100% perfect for me, but it's close enough that it'll serve me for years to come. Pros: - It's got that classic MX518 shape that I love at its core. - The RGB lighting, while understated (my preference), is completely configurable. - The buttons feel sturdy, and are large enough to easily press. - It hits up to 16,000 DPI (a little excessive for me, but I like having the option). - You can reconfigure any of the buttons in the drivers to do whatever you want (macros, simulated keyboard buttons, the works). - The left and right click are actual separate buttons rather than flexible extensions from the outer shell. - The black color scheme meshes better with other hardware, so if you're going for a unified look, this should match well. - You can set the response time however you want (but honestly you should always have it at 1ms, which is excellent). - The price. I got this on sale, but even at the regular price it's worth the money. - It has the "free scroll" mode for the scroll wheel that Logitech apparently has a monopoly on. - It has one more button than my old G500 that isn't placed intrusively. - Build quality is generally excellent. Cons: - It's got that "Transformer" look that a lot of cheap "gaming" computer cases have these days (not much of a con, and comes down to preference). - It feels a bit too narrow compared to my old G500. Not enough to be uncomfortable, though. - The scroll wheel can be a hair too stiff. - No included drivers in the box. This is a big deal. Pop a cheap 1GB flash drive or just a CD in there, it costs you like an extra fifty cents, Logitech. Yes, you can download them off the website, but you shouldn't have to for initial setup. The mouse works with just the basic Windows mouse driver, but you need the real drivers to access advanced features. - Downloading/Updating the drivers can be a bit wonky. The installer isn't an "offline installer," you -need- internet access for it during the whole installation. This is fine for installing something like Steam, but not optimal for hardware drivers. Also, the progress bars during install/update are extremely uninformative. I spent five minutes at 25% downloaded, then jumped immediately to 100%. - Only has four DPI presets available, compared to the G500's five. Not a big deal, but it's weird because it's purely a software thing. The mouse has exactly the same indicators, DPI buttons, and onboard storage as the G500. - The thumb button placement still needs some tuning. The G500 had the extra button between the forward/backward buttons, which got in the way sometimes but was easier to reach. It's now down and forward of them, which doesn't get in the way, but is too far forward to comfortably reach (and I have big hands). Move it back by about 1.5cm and it'll be perfect. - The weight system needs a little tuning. It took me a couple tries to get the cover back on correctly, as one of the weights slid in a little stiffly. Overall, it's a great mouse, especially if you're upgrading from a cheap "bundled in" mouse. Just be aware that you need to download the drivers yourself, and the installer may look frozen when it isn't frozen. Also, it's long, which is about right for my large hands, but your mileage may vary.

Hi Eldibs, Thank you for this very comprehensive and very insightful review of the G502 HERO Wired Optical Gaming Mouse---your feedback is greatly appreciated and very helpful. If you haven't done so, I highly suggest that you download Logitech's G Hub software which will allow you to customize your G502 to your liking. defect out of the box, bad luck

defect out of the box issue 1, G8 key not working, no matter how hard I pressed it's not clicking. bind a character key to it to test if it's just silent, got no output from it at all. issue 2, left and right buttons are loose. their front edges seem to be a bit lower than the dead G8 key's front edge, and when my fingers leave the left and right keys, the keys go up and bounce back down, make me wonder if I have very sticky fingers. got a G502 hero (non-SE version ) as a replacement, quality is much better. the scroll wheel still has a horizontal rattle while it's in the smooth scroll mode but I'll live with it. considering SE's current price, if you are not unlucky like me, this might be a very good deal,
