    A Beast of A Mouse!!!

Let me open with, “Logitech hit the ball out of the park with this one!” I was a bit apprehensive because of the fact that this is a “wired” mouse, but the way Logitech has designed this, it is as easy to use as a “wireless” mouse. This mouse has extreme robust features such as:  Sensor-The sensor on this mouse is so smooth that I literally forget that it is wired because of the nice coiled cord that accompanies this mouse. The cord is durable in strength and long in length. Moreover, I don’t feel restricted when surfing with this mouse.  The programmed buttons are a force to reckon with as they give great clicking flexibility. There is a little tray that houses additional buttons if needed.  The color spectrum that this mouse produces is just beautiful! The color spectrum of blue, yellow, red, purple and green is so beautiful to look at. Additionally, the colors work with the programmed buttons seamlessly. I only wish I had a gaming keyboard to accompany this beast of a mouse. To know that this lighting is customizable is another plus as well.  Point & Click-the point and click on this mouse have such great precision and accuracy.  Design-The design of this mouse is great as it feels so comfortable in hand, which makes it easy to maneuver no matter what type of surface it’s used on. It is wonderful to know that Logitech really has invested into the gaming industry and want to stay ahead by upgrading their products to suit their customers’ wants and needs. I have several of Logitech’s mice and with performance alike this one, I’ll definitely be a repeat customer! Well-done Logitech, you are a force to reckon with for years to come!!!

For the price, this mouse delivers. I like the fact it can be weighed down some. This mouse actually improved my gaming. From vanity standpoint, i got 3 achievements in a game i enjoy. Makes quick target acquisition simple. Buy this mouse if youre looking for a new one. I rellaced a loaner gateway that would spin out of focus when i attempted snap to targetting. The logitech app makes adjustments and macro setting very easy. I did buy this on sale so nit sure what the price is on it. Thanks Best Buy for the letting us buy n pick up later.

The Logitech - G502 HERO Wired Optical Gaming Mouse with RGB Lighting - Black is a winner for gaming use. Setting the Logitech - G502 HERO Wired Optical Gaming Mouse with RGB Lighting - Black up for use is as simple as plugging it in and then begin playing your game, because it is a plug and play device that gives the option to download additional enhanced software from the Logitech website. The auto program can switch to reassign the buttons automatically which will allow you to have a set for many other software controls. This is a quality product that comes with great stable software, plenty of customization options and can be used by a gamer or a basic computer user. The design of this mouse is great as it feels so comfortable in my hand, which makes it easier to maneuver no matter what type of surface I use it on. The bottom of the mouse has a weight holding area, whereby magnets can be used adjust the weight of the mouse. The point and click functionality on this mouse offers tremendous precision and accuracy, when playing games on my computer. The mouse and cord are sturdy and well constructed and will be of use for a lot of gaming or basic computer use.

I have had the original Logitech G502 mouse around 3 years now. Was my favorite mouse in years. Comfortable, sturdy, and very, very well designed. In short, I love that mouse. Just got the new G502 Hero version, and let me tell you, once again Logitech has knocked it out of the park!! Bravo. This mouse upgrades the sensor to an even higher DPI than the original, now weighing in at 16,000 dpi from 12,000. I prefer a slightly heavier mouse, but you can customize the weight to your liking with the included adjustable weight system (just a couple pieces of metal that you can put in, or take out. 11 programmable buttons, several profiles that you can save on board to the mouse itself, including the RGB color setup. The logitech software will control your mouse setup, and any other logitech devices you might have on your PC, including keyboards. It is great looking software too. In short, another great mouse, that will keep me happy! This mouse was so good I decided to buy a second one for my workplace, because The ergonomics are also fantastic! It just feels great in my hand!

Hello Thatguy! I'm sorry to hear you're running into connection issues with the G502 mouse. If you haven't tried these already, here are a few things you can try, be sure to plug the mouse directly into a USB port on the motherboard or a USB port on the computer case while troubleshooting. Also avoid using hubs of any kind, powered or not. This includes hubs that can be found on monitors. First you can try a different USB port on the motherboard or computer case. If that doesn't work the I would recommend disabling "USB Selective Suspend": Press the Windows key, type "Edit power plan" and press Enter. Select "Change advanced power settings". Expand the tree for "USB settings", then expand the tree for "USB selective suspend setting". Disable the option for On battery and Plugged in. Power Management for USB hubs: Press the Windows key, type "Device Manager" and press Enter. Expand the tree for "Universal Serial Bus controllers". Right-click on a hub and select Properties. Under the Power Management tab, uncheck the setting "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". Repeat the above steps for all items listed as hubs. You can also try updating the motherboard chipset drivers. If none of these work or you have tried them all, I would recommend reaching out to our support team here https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000621393 to start a warranty claim. The G502 HERO has a 2-year limited hardware warranty. Thank you so much for this feedback and I hope this helps! - Maggie from Logitech G

I am not using this mouse for gaming, but just everyday use, browsing and editing. I like buying gaming mice for this, as they are generally more responsive and precise, and are often built to better quality standards. This mouse has been in constant use on my primary machine for some time and works beautifully. Recommended.

    Best Gaming Mouse Got Better...

...but the upgrade was more of a headache than I wanted. First of all, I've been in love with the 500 series since the first model came out and still have my orginal g500 - and it still works perfectly. Few years later I grabbed the g502 proteus which, while it had sharper edges, was basically the same shape as the g500. Less buttons, but I could deal with that. The 500 series seems to be the best to keep repetitive stress injuries from creeping up from long gaming sessions. I don't know if it's because I'm used to the shape or the shape is just right for me. Either way I'm sticking with this series. If you're coming from another 502 then the upgrade won't seem like much at first. Same shape, same buttons, same software... nothing really new. That is until you pump up the DPI. With the hero sensor you're looking at 16000 DPI - 4000 more than the Proteus version. One twitch and you're doing a full 360 in game. While this is just to freaking fast for me the pro's might like the lightning fast speed this mouse brings. Just like the other 502's you can have 5 preset speeds and polling up to 1000/s. Every little edge counts when you're trying to go for the win. Now, I know this is a gaming mouse, but I buy these for the guys at work too. Having 11 customizable buttons with macro ability make a gaming mouse indispensable at work. Being able to assign minimize to a button has save me many a butt chewing when I was "researching" stuff on the web. Having auto program switching to automatically reassign the buttons allows you to have a set for Photoshop, Indesign, Ill, etc and then more for web browsers, games... It's pretty much endless what you can do. if you're passing this mouse over because it's a "gamer" mouse you're missing out on a productivity king. I even use the G710+ keyboard with it's macros daily. On to the headache. I mentioned that I'm coming from an older G502. I was hoping that and export and import of my old macros and game settings would be as easy as a few button clicks. This wasn't the case. While the program presets were there, the actually button assignments didn't get imported. So I had to reconnect the old mouse and manually redo my entire set up by switching back and forth in the software before I could actually use the mouse. This should not have been this bad. They share the same amount of buttons plus the layout is exactly the same. I don't know if there are some internal differences that cause the incompatibilities, but it's something I'd rather not go through again. If you can properly import the saved exports please fix it in the next software update so others don't have to go through this. A hardcore gamer most likely has everything set up just the way he/she wants shouldn't have to go through this recreating the wheel on a upgrade. I know I won't be upgrading at work since we have a lot more macros than I have for gaming and don't want to deal redoing everything. Hoping that when/if my work mice die they have this issue resolved. If you don't have a G502, GET IT! You'll be glad you did. If you already have one, you may wanna wait until you have time to redo all your settings or if they're able to update the program's import feature. Besides, it's not a huge difference, but one that's worth it if you have some money burning a hole in your pocket.

A worthy predecessor to the G502 Spectrum

Is the Logitech G502 Hero a worthy predecessor to the older G502 Spectrum? Not much difference on the outside of the G502 Hero than with its predecessor, the G502 Spectrum. Smart, if the design works there is no need for a re-engineering of the style. The new G502 has the new HERO optical sensor. The Hero sensor now goes down to 100 dpi and up to 16000 dpi; compared to the old Spectrum’s 200 and 12000 dpi maximums. Nice if you are gamer and require spot on control in the heat of the game. The new HERO tracker will additionally now track on glass, you can certainly skip the mousepad. New braided cable is thinner which is a welcome change as it keeps the cable from binding up, which is an issue with the G502 Spectrum. It also comes with 5, 3.6-gram weights to customize the mouse to your own preference. Highly recommend the G502 Hero over its predecessor the G502 Spectrum, price point is the same and tracks more accurately on more surfaces than the Spectrum.

I needed my son to help test out this mouse. He is an avid PC gamer and needed a new mouse to replace his Logitech G500 device. As soon as the G502 was connected, he immediately noticed a difference in responsiveness and usability. He uses the DPI button frequently to look around the various areas on the screen. The mouse syncs easily with his Logitech keyboard. I tried one of his games for a couple of hours one night using the new mouse. The feel of the mouse in my hand was very comfortable. It is larger than other gaming mice I've used in the past. It took a bit to get used to but felt very comfortable within about 10 minutes of game play. The way the mouse/cursor tracks across the screen is very smooth. It's far superior to my non-gaming mouse and even my Mac mouse. This is an impressive gaming accessory and I believe it is priced fairly for the market. I highly recommend this device.
