G502 Hero - close to perfect

Short review. My Overwatch DPS went up and the G502 comes with dedicated profiles for Overwatch. Yay! I am sure it will rock with every other game. Long review. If you are series about gaming you need a wired gaming mouse. The G502 is amazing. I love that it lets you customize everything from the weight, DPI, to the buttons. It took me a few days to get the weight of the mouse at the right comfort level for me. DPI was easier to perfect. The LogitechG software you download gives you almost infinite control and is intuitive. No lag, fast reliable buttons and the scroll wheel stands out because is so well engineered it feels like it belongs on a luxury car. Highly recommended!

Had to replace my OG. Left click sounds different and front left DPI shift buttton sticks. Looks like the quality control has gone down since they started making em.

It’s a good mouse and fits my hand nicely. But at times the sensor doesn’t read where I’m moving it and kind of glitches. As well I longed into the website and most of the side buttons still do not work

At the end of this message, I have attached a link to our support page that will help you with any FAQ's and issues you are currently experiencing. If you believe it is a hardware malfunction, you can also submit a warranty claim and we'll gladly be able to help you out. I apologize for any confusion the G502 Hero mouse may have caused. Double Click from Hell.

Logitech, Sad, sad so maddeningly sad and frustrating that what was a great mouse for a great price is now about to be thrown thru the wall. Buyer beware of the upgraded G502 Hero. Bought my son the G502 a couple of years ago now and it's flawless. He loves it and it was why I bought one too, 11 months ago. The Hero SE was available so I got it. Loved it for 9 months, until the Left mouse button began acting up. Thought it was me at first but then realized that it now double clicks almost every time I click it. When you use it for work, not gaming this is not acceptable and infuriating and not very productive. Can't click and drag anything, from just moving something from one screen to the other and don't even get me started on using Excel, which is unfortunately one of my primary programs I use for work. Maybe I'll try to find someone who plays Minecraft as it will probably be the only use for it. That is if I can avoid throwing it against a wall in that time.

Hi, I'm sorry that your G502 succumbed to double clicking after 9 months of use. You can file a warranty claim at support.logi.com for the double click. A representative can help you with seeing if the G502 falls within the warranty claim coverage. I'm happy that during the time before it started to fail that you enjoyed the use of it. Logitech offers the MX Master 3 that would give you similar controls for usage with in Excel and other productivity applications. You can customize it with Logitech Options similar to the use of the G502 with GHub customizing features. I hope you find a solution that meets your office needs. Thanks for being a Logitech customer. Kristi from Logitech

Hello whateveritmaybe! We're sorry to hear the G502 HERO SE isn't working out for you. For the scroll wheel, however, the button under the scroll wheel will switch between free scrolling (the one that just keeps rolling) and ratcheted scrolling (a more precise scrolling that you will feel in the wheel). I would recommend reaching out to our support team here https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000621393 if you continue to have issues. We really appreciate the feedback! Almost perfect gaming mouse - I bought 2

A near perfect balance of weight, ergonomics and features. Enough buttons to cover most common keystrokes you use in games without turning it into an MMO mouse with a dozen buttons. I've used this for FPS games (battlefield) RTS (age of empires) and Witcher 3. The layout and assignability of buttons is great. In an FPS you can set the thumb button for a quick melee, the arrow buttons next to mouse 1 for grenades, left / right mouse tilt for a quick weapon switch, and the side buttons to crouch and go prone. Switch profiles (you can store three on the mouse itself, which is nice because you don't have to rely on software recall) and in an RTS those same buttons can select different units or buildings or move you around the map. On Witcher 3 I had tilting left or right switch swords and the other buttons set up to switch signs. Cool story? Maybe not, but it all means you can assign your most commonly used keystrokes to your mouse and not worry about having to hunt around the keyboard when you're in the middle of a fight. After you get used to your custom layout you can trigger each one in a fraction of a second because the buttons are so close to the natural position of your mouse hand. The software is well designed and only required for setting up and storing profiles. Mouse is very comfortable (I have large hands but it would not be too large for someone with smaller hands). I removed the built in weights. Without them it's probably still heavier than the ultralight mice that are trendy right now but I never feel it's too heavy. This is one of those pieces of gear that you always want to have with you and hope the manufacturer doesn't change the design in order to "improve" it and end up ruining what works. That's why when I saw best buy had a sale at 50% off I went to the store and bought another one just to keep it sitting in a closet in case something happens to my current mouse (still going strong after 3 years, knock on wood). My only two complaints: 1) The braided wrap around the cord. I can see why it's there, but after awhile it developed a hole and the cord bulged out and couldn't be pushed back in. Ended up cutting off the wrap because it just became annoying. 2) Textured grip near thumb rest. In theory it's nice for extra grip, but in practice it just is a place for dirt and grime to accumulate. Would be nice if they had an alternate smooth piece you could swap out.

If you're looking for a "gaming" mouse that you can have some customization with, look no further. This mouse is almost the total package. It has really good custom settings that you can tweak to your liking for DPI, a good number of extra buttons, and weights (small weights) that you can place on the bottom (it has a cover) that you can put in and take out easily. It also has RGB (and plenty of the colors in-between), which goes well with my custom PC and keyboard. While I've been having a blast using this mouse in a variety of games, the only thing that I don't like about this mouse is the feel of it when it's in my hand. I have a big hand, and this mouse is definitely taking me some time to get use to compared to my previous mouse (same brand). I wish it had a little bit of a better feel to it, so I'd recommend checking this out at Best Buy first to see if it's to your liking, "feel-wise." Overall, a good product and I'm happy with it.

This gaming mouse is a beast. Its ultra responsive and super comfortable for those long gaming sessions. With the companion app downloaded you can fully customize the buttons, sensitivity and responsiveness than can be saved to three profiles stored on the mouse that you can alternate between with just a click of a button. I like the option of alternating between a free scrolling mouse wheel and adding resistance too. This mouse also comes with six weights that you can install in the base (I prefer four) that really take the experience up a notch. And this thing glides like butter on my desk. Absolutely love it.

We apologize for the troublesome experience you had with the G502 Hero Mouse. Kindly try plugging the device into a different USB port on your computer. If possible, don't use a USB hub or other similar device and update the device's firmware on GHub. Also, test the device on a different computer and check if that helps. If the issue persists, reach out to Logi G Support for further assistance.

A good mouse ruined by cheap switches. Logitech's switches have been going down in quality over the past few years, even though they're supposed to be rated for an insanely high number of clicks. My husband has now gone through 7 or 8 mice in the past year, including 3 of these, because the switches just fail prematurely and cause random double-clicks. He's not rough on his mice; I'm far more abusive with my gaming clicks than he is, and I've had my mouse (same model) for over 3 years now.

Everything is good. The grip and the weight. But the scroll wheel is awful!!! There's two modes of the scroll wheel, slippery and supper slippery. It will bounce back half page when you scroll down for one page. I bought it for FPS gaming and I use the middle button to change weapons. I can't control it at all!!! I won't recommend this item until logitech improve the scroll wheel.

Hi Alexx, Very sorry that you're experiencing issues with the scroll wheel for the G502 HERO SE.
