Excellent Replacement for a Logitech G9x

I am replacing a Logitech G9x with the G502. While not quite as comfortable as the G9x, this mouse is very comfortable for individuals with larger hands and I value the infinite scroll wheel. It is easy to adjust the DPI settings with the software and save them as profiles. I occasionally notice a 'double click issue' where clicking the left mouse button once registers on my computer twice. It can be frustrating, but does not occur often enough to be a deal breaker.

This is a great mouse for gaming. I mainly play FPS and though many people think this g502 is too heavy for FPS, I actually prefer it - I think its mostly kids who can't move a heavy mouse. Plus the weight is adjustable (I use it with all weights though). Apart from gaming, the scroll wheel has infinite scroll option which is simply superior when browsing or reading. Logitech mouse and KBs are simply amazing and this mouse is one of their best.

Out of the box, this mouse feels good and is ready to use - the full suite of features, though, aren't available to you until you go to the Logitech website and install the full device software executable. That allows for the full RGB color changing, extra button action selection, and a method of altering the DPI stages for the mouse. I wish that the software installed on its own, but the extra step is easy to do with most internet connections and unlocks the full potential of this mouse. I don't use the weights for the plate on the underside of the mouse, but I know some also like those and there are enough at your disposal.

This is my Second G502 Mouse. This one was slightly different than the first as far as the software goes. It was slightly more confusing to set up but I did eventually figure it out. Would buy again. Hopefully they fix their ease of use in their software or have better directions. As far as quality Its great. Like I said its my second I love this mouse and prob will buy another once this one stops working years form now.

The weighs that come with it are a big plus since I tend to prefer the mouse to be on the heavier side, the scroll release button also comes in handy when trying to scroll a slow scrolling website/software.

Thanks for the review! The adjustable weights on the G502 HERO sound perfect for you, allowing you to personalize the weight for optimal comfort and control during gameplay. The scroll wheel release button is another handy feature for navigating long web pages or documents. We're glad you like it!

Pro: - really ergonomic, I don't fault any strain after prolonged use - really premium quality and feel, the mouse wheel is aluminum - unlike a lot of gaming nice it's not tricked out with too much LED's or gaudy logos so you can even take it to work - even without installing the program the buttons have use right out of the box, like going back in Google chrome Con: - nothing I can think of, it's a really good mouse Con: - not a lot

I had the previous model of this, which was basically the exact same thing with slightly redesigned button shapes, but the scroll wheel finally died after several years so I needed a quick replacement. This still has everything I need, and is the best gaming mouse I've ever used. The Logitech software is easy to use, and the mouse has 3 customizable profile settings, which can be switched with the middle button anytime you want. It has the basic L&R buttons, with a clickable & TILTING scroll wheel, which is really great since tilting wheels are becoming quite uncommon. Also, there is a button to allow freescrolling (spin the wheel and it keeps going, great for scrolling through long websites). There are 2 buttons just next to where your thumb rests, with a 3rd at the tip. Also, there are 2 more right next to the left mouse button, though they're easy to miss. The button to choose which profile you want can actually be remapped too. Also, the buttons aren't just a jumbled bunch like the many of the Razer mice, these are all perfectly located to easily reach. It's just a matter of remembering what you have mapped. Counting the scroll wheel as 3, the grand total of buttons that can be remapped is ELEVEN! The only problem I have with this model is that the wheel actually tilts too easily if you try to just click it. There's much more empty space next to it, and it's definitely a lot looser than the previous one, but it just takes time to get used to and isn't enough to lower my 5 star rating. There's also a wireless version of this, which costs an additional $100, so just go with what suits you best. I personally prefer corded ones myself because they're cheaper, and also so I don't have to worry about batteries, charging, or signal loss.

Been using this mouse for almost a year now. It still works perfectly fine with no lag when playing shooter games. The extra buttons on the mouse definitely helps when trying to use multiple of inputs into the game.

The box says 16,000 DPI but via a free online update it is bumped to 25,600. This unusably high sensitivity is not necessary but it's cool to say you have. Why would you buy anything else? This mouse is affordable, reliable, and good looking. The super high 25,600 dpi is crazy at this price point.

Ive had various iterations of this mouse with the original G502 being my first then i owned the proteus core and the spectrum. Logitech once again with the 502 hero have outdone themselves. The mouse is incredibly responsive, the buttons are reliable the weight is awesome and for someone with larger hands the extended left and right button are awesome, I use this mouse for anything between MMO, RPG to FPS 10/10

I am biased as I love the 502. I bought my first Logitech 502 from Best Buy actually around the end of 2011 I think. I got a $50 gift card to steam at the time with the purchase (mouse retailed close to $100 at the time) which I told myself I would use to buy GTA:V when it finally released on PC (which wasn't until 2013 lol). Either way, I managed to use that 502 for a solid decade+ and honestly could have kept going with that mouse but it was starting to show it's age. Scooping a 502 Hero was a no-brainer replacement, especially when on sale. Couldn't be happier with the ergonomics of this mouse and button feel. In the same vein, you get a wide variety of mouse buttons and the ability to map and assign them to your heart's content as well as adjust the mouse's DPI on the fly. It's a great mouse that continues to review well and win people over after all these years.
