Many also appreciate its reasonable price, extra buttons, and smooth scroll wheel. However, some users find the overall size to be small, and the accompanying software is frequently criticized.

So far I have nothing but good experiences with this product. Fits my hand well, software was easy enough to use, feels great while gaming, well made. Best Buy purchase experience was also positive and the item was on sale.

It works great. The software is a bit complicated but super feature rich. It lets you cycle through tons of different profiles. It also has a very solid feel in the hand. My hands are quite big but the mouse fits decently well. 10/10 would recommend getting it.

I have been using Logitech products for almost 30 years now and have always found them very reliable and comfortable. This mouse is no exception, providing adjustability with the weights and all the buttons I could ask for! With my G703, I missed the free spin of the wheel that I had grown familiar with on my MX mice and was thinking of going back to one of them for my main computer. I will miss the lack of clutter with the wireless G703, but this G502 Hero is so comfortable and responsive that I am not regretting the change back to wired at all. The box is a nice, unassuming design that packs the parts into a small container and doesn’t have any frills or extras to get in the way – just the way it should be! I hate opening a huge package to find a tiny part nestled deep inside! The design of the mouse is interesting, but my hand fits it perfectly and all the places needed to feel comfortable are there. I don’t even notice the gaps and voids between the buttons and surfaces since they are designed not to touch the hand. I also appreciate the hook and loop tie attached to the cord, allowing it to be wrapped partially if it is too long, such as when I am using my laptop on the table and don’t need all the cable to reach the side USB port. I think Logitech has produced another winner here with the G502 Hero and am looking forward to years of use.

    Great for gaming

This is the best mouse for the price as well as options. My son loves this gaming mouse. It makes accessing all the game options easy, as the multiple buttons simplify his gameplay. He can easily change the speed of the cursor, making it convenient to switch between games and homework. He can slow the cursor down to the speed I prefer, which is slower. There is also a sensitivity option that he uses for fast-paced games.

This mouse reminds me of the high-end Alienware mouses I had back in the day for my gaming PC. I took a break from PC gaming for a bit and while I really enjoyed my time on the console, I missed some of the more "threading-the-needle" type things you can do on the PC. I tested in a variety of games; where this mouse really shines is PvP, especially with the high-res camera in the guts of the mouse. The bundled software lets you set up macros and such, but what was super useful for me was that you could tweak the sensitivity of the mouse on the fly and see what setting you were on via the LEDs. Color customization, cool. Weight customization? Awesome... I might be nuts but I prefer a mouse that has some heft. I only wish there was a button tension control, as I sometimes found myself inadvertently clicking while getting used to where my fingers had to sit to NOT push buttons. It's not crazy, but folks with bigger hands playing tense games might squeeze their way into a macro execution. This is not a problem, per se, but you want time to train with this mouse. There are so many buttons and each one can be customized, and while it'd be super intuitive after a week or two, your first few games are gonna be rough. Logitech gives you some cool software that allows you to customize per profile and per game, which means you can go nuts on presets. The mouse seems sturdy (even without the extra weights) and well-built; the cord has a weaved coating and also seems very sturdy. Overall: I really like this mouse. It's a worthwhile investment for casual-and-beyond gamers who need more than just the stock buttons. Bonus points that it LOOKS really cool in addition to playing well.

I owned this mouse for 3 weeks now, and I'm in love, the DPI is extremely high and I am used to high sensitivity, the reaction time is fast. I also find the colors really cool! The scroll button is really cool and comfy. My buttons are in the default preset so I can't tell you about those yet but it's good! Highly suggest you to get this mouse because it has barely or no flaws at all.

The left click started not registering every click. Customer support from Logitech basically said go pound salt. For a mouse that has an MSRP of $80 I would expect to get more than 2 years out of it.

An Updated Version of the Logitech G502 Spectrum.

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Whereas the G502 Spectrum (Released in 2014) goes up to 12,000 DPI, the G502 HERO goes up to 16,000 DPI. Difference between the 2 besides the DPI is very low, it features a new sensor that is HERO = (High Efficiency Rated Optical) which is suited more for power saving for wireless mouse (This mouse is not wireless.), instead of the PWM3366. The G502 HERO has a thinner braided cable than the G502 Spectrum which is thicker. You can change the colors and weights in both mouses, I use 1 in front and 1 in back for a total of 2 weights, but you can put up to 5. In terms of usability you probably won't notice the difference, I'm only using 800, 1600, or 2,400 DPI settings, lower or higher settings and games and app's don't seem to respond as well to the input. The DPI is actually a bit too high even for 4K displays. The packaging of both is similar so it's easy for someone to pickup the wrong product, including store employee's which happened in my case, so make sure if you get this one it says HERO if you want the newer HERO version and Spectrum for the old version, otherwise, you've probably bought the wrong model. It's a great mouse. Both are the same price as well.

I’ve always had a soft spot for Logitech accessories using several for a long time. I had the opportunity to try the new G502 Hero High Performance Gaming Mouse and I was not disappointed. There is a lot to like about this mouse. • I like my gaming mice on the heavy side and the Hero comes with five weights to tweak the weight and balance. • It has super smooth tracking with the 16K tracking sensor, serious DPI • I love Logitech’s Gaming Software that controls all Logitech accessories such as keyboards, mice, and headsets. All in one as it should be. With it you can program the 11 buttons (2 are on the scroll wheel tilt) with macros, DPI shifting, lighting and more. If there was any knock on this mouse it would possibly be the scroll wheel. Compared to the gaming mouse that I’m using now (from another manufacturer) the tactile feels a bit soft but with a little more use I'm sure I'll get used to it. This mouse at roughly $80 MSRP out-performs many that cost more. I’ll be swapping my old favorite with the G502 Hero for my daily use gaming mouse. I found a winner for sure!!!

For the price, this mouse delivers. I like the fact it can be weighed down some. This mouse actually improved my gaming. From vanity standpoint, i got 3 achievements in a game i enjoy. Makes quick target acquisition simple. Buy this mouse if youre looking for a new one. I rellaced a loaner gateway that would spin out of focus when i attempted snap to targetting. The logitech app makes adjustments and macro setting very easy. I did buy this on sale so nit sure what the price is on it. Thanks Best Buy for the letting us buy n pick up later.

The mouse is very nice, you can adjust the DPI however you like, it nicely fits my slightly large hand with palm grip. The buttons are nice. But the scroll wheel is very slippery. An unfortunate accident with a vacuum killed the cord, but I won't be getting another, because of the wheel.
