I came from using a Logitech G700s to this mouse. I looked around to see what was popular and wanted the large amount of programmable buttons and this is what I decided on. Its a great mouse but my pointer finger has a hard time and accidentally hits the extra buttons on left. I know this is just a training issue but i've been using it for 6 months and still hit those on accident. Love RGB, speed, dpi, and size. Only thing is not being wireless. The G700s was both. I knew what I was buying and didnt think it would be an issue but now i think i might get the Logitech G903. I think most users will love this mouse.

Had to replace my old G5

And fretted over choosing a replacement...the modifiable weighting and DPI scaling of the Logitech G5 was a dream to use. I always dreaded the day that it finally kicked. After about 6 years that day came.
I stood in the aisle in BB looking at the 'new' gaming mice and finally settled on the G502 because it had custom weighting and scaling DPI like the G5 and was a Logitech. I was not disappointed. In fact, I think I found a legit replacement for the G5. The R and L buttons have a great tactile click to them, the programmable secondary buttons are within easy reach of my thumb, and when weighted it feels just like the old G5.
The only complaint I have is cosmetic. I prefer the 'traditional' mouse design, and obviously Logitech went for a more aggressive 'gamer' look with this one. Not totally my style, but in terms of function and feel I think I'd be hard pressed to find something comparable.
The most liked feature the G5 didn't have is the 'fly wheel' option. Sometimes you just need to scroll all the way in one shot, not incrementally and with the press of a button you can do just that.
A worthy successor to the G5. If you were like me and had to say goodbye to your most trusted PC peripheral, you'll find a worthy successor in the G502.
If you can find it on sale (like I did on a site named after a big river in South America), BB will price match. Love that BB does that!

Not gaming, AutoCAD

I needed a larger mouse, my work requires me to use a mouse 8-10hrs a day and the one I was using was causing pain. Switched to this one (only high precision wireless I could find in the store) and am so glad I did. The large shape fits the hand wonderfully, the buttons can be programmed for AutoCAD functions, different modes (so I can change the DPI depending on what I'm doing). No problem with getting it to work with my computers as well, plug-n-play & a quick download from the Logitech site (make sure you reg - it's got a 3 yr warranty) and I was up and running. Also, they had a firmware flash ready.

This is a great gaming mouse. It's extremely customizable and has the highest DPI I've seen available on a mouse. My only complaints are the mouse wheel is stiffer than I would like and for some odd reason I haven't figured out how, it will stay lit sometimes after turning off PC.

I was using an A4 Tech Bloody V7MA (~$30)before switching to this mouse. I have claw grip, hand span about 17cm (extended hand, measured from pinky to tip of thumb). The V7MA fit my hand perfectly with a higher height and wider mouse but the Proteus Spectrum has a slightly lower height and a slightly narrow width. When using the mouse, I had to adjust my right pinky so that it wouldn't touch the table. It's a slight adjustment so not a big deal.
The build quality is amazing, feels premium, and buttons have satisfying clicks. The mouse has two types of scroll, a hard scroll and a soft scroll but there's a button to adjust for that. Buttons all over the mouse work well and it's easy to distinguish which button is which. Sniper button thumb side of the mouse is a great addition. DPI switch is amazing as well, to switch between different profiles for different games. While using the mouse, the sensor is quite accurate, worlds apart from the sensor from the V7MA. A plus is that the cable is braided.
What's also great is the software that Logitech provides. Easy to set DPI profiles, re-assign buttons, and change LED's with profiles. There is also a surface calibration tool, which is pretty interesting.
Overall, a great mouse to buy with Logitech's build quality and warranty.

I purchased this as a replacement for a Logitech MX500 I had for 12 years. It still works but I figured it was time to upgrade. This mouse feels similar but it's smaller and doesn't quite fit my hands as well. The main fault of this mouse is that the thumb buttons are placed too close to the thumb rest so that I'm always inadvertently pressing the thumb buttons by mistake. On the MX500 the thumb buttons are placed higher so I don't have that problem. Another problem is that the left primary button is so close to the two auxiliary index finger button that when I go to click on something I always accidentally press those buttons which is annoying. This mouse must be made for a skinny teen gamer kid with with slim fingers. I actually have pretty skinny fingers myself but my fingers can barely fit on the buttons without pressing the others by mistake. I can't image someone with bigger hands than mine with fatter fingers that can use this mouse with ease. If this mouse had bigger buttons (or better placed buttons) then I would give it 5 stars.

Although I got it on sale so it was a better deal for me than it might be for you. THAT BEING SAID!
Good mouse, good price, works well and does the job. Great for gaming with a high DPI, great for gamers that want to customize the feel of their mouse so it's well weighted and balanced in their hands.

The thumb buttons are very helpful for buttons you have to press in a short amount of time and the dpi switch can be used for sniping.

This mouse is very nice and very comfortable. The customization of this mouse is very nice. I have changed the weights in it several times to find just the right balance. The software to customize the buttons is easy to use. This mouse was recommended to me by couple of friends and I can see why.

The mouse feels comfortable to hold and has removeable weights to adjust the mouse drag. Has an adjustable dpi to allow faster response times that come in handy for shooters or flight games. Mouse wheel is free spinning but has a locking function in case you want the standard clicking feel. I like to fidget so I tend to unlock the wheel and let it fly.

Ferrari of Gaming and Productivity! SMOOTH

I preface with saying I spent 2-3 weeks researching gaming/productivity mice with an emphasis on the gaming side. I went in person to best buy 3 different times to feel various models.
I am PICKY about mice because I have very wide palms and average/long fingers. Therefore I usually prefer mice that are wider at the base of my palm. The first time I held the G502 at BBuy I dismissed it because it felt too narrow. After 3 months of daily use I can delightfully say that it is extremely ergonomic and your hand molds super well around it.
PROS:
-Truthfully lightweight (I know its heavier than Deathadder but its still very light without the weights added in)
- Very ergonomic and I am SUUUPER picky in this area. Don't judge at first feel if you have larger hands. Spend some time on it in the store and feel it out, it actually relieved much strain (that I didn't know I had) from my previous ergonomic gaming mouse
- Very good button placement and all buttons feel very "clicky" and solid
- Super smooth "floating" like operation on the mousepad
CONS: Only one really
- The mouse wheel. It isn't coated in rubber/plastic and can be slippery at times. This can matter in games and sometimes with productivity work although usually can be circumvented.
CONCLUSION: Easily, without a doubt, the best mouse I have used. (I have used Razer Deathadder, Corsair Sabre, Corsaire M65, Older G500, Microsoft wireless mouse, Sentey Revolution Pro - all of which were great in their own way). This is the Ferrari of computer mice. After 3 months of consistent use I can say that it is also one of the most comfortable for longer periods of use. ZERO hand strain which is a HUGE achievement for any mouse.

Personally love the shape and how it feels. Even after a few hours of use my hand still doesn't feel tired or soar. Materials are good and feel like they will last. Software is also good. Also needed one that worked well in both Windows and Mac OS X with full driver support, which it has.

The Mouse has a great laser sensor that has great tracking and no acceleration, meaning that your shots in first person shooters should be a bit more accurate if you're aiming right.
The mouse also has Logitech's famous flywheel scroll wheels! I missed it when I switched from my old logitech g500, but I'm glad to see that they kept the feature in their newer mouses.
Only downside I see on this mouse is that its a tad bit small. This is great for people with smaller hands (like me) but could be a bit more awkward to hold for people who have bigger hands.

this is my second g502, this one has the rgb lights. i really love the 11 programmable buttons and their position is perfect. my default set up has volume up/down on the top two side buttons. back/forward web browser middle two buttons. and mute bottom side. this works really well to control my creative katana soundbar with the mouse when in ps4 mode. the katana is connected by usb to the pc and by optical to ps4. this mouse is also great for pc gaming, tons of settings and you can save 3 profiles

My first gaming mouse ever. It feels great in my hands, even with all of the weights attached to the bottom. The only gripe is the sniper button. I don't play FPS games, so sometimes, my thumb accidentally presses the button. I love the braided cable that comes with, as well as the velcro strap to keep everything tidy. Would I buy another one? No, only because this is the best mouse I have ever bought, and logitech is known for their customer service, so if something were to happen, I have no doubt they will take care of the issue.

I had been looking for a new gaming mouse for a while. I had tried and looked at several different ones. After hearing some good things about logitech from some others I decided to give it a try. I love it. It feels great in my hand and the adjustable weight is a nice touch. The overall feel on my hand is really great. The multitude of buttons don't really get in the way like I thought they would. I haven't really used them yet, but they don't bother me and I plan to map them later on. Love this mouse, would buy again.
