Good beginner's gaming mouse
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this mouse for my son, who wanted something with better dpi than the laser Logitech mouse he had been using before. The mouse initially felt light until all the weights were added. It feels responsive and glide nicely over many surfaces. The center scroll feel is metallic and doesn't scroll as easily as a rubberized surface scroll wheel, if your fingers are damp/sweaty, it might not work well... The mouse emits a pulsating light of different alternating colors. Overall, it was a good buy for the price, other than the feel of the scroll wheel, I have no complaints.

Excellent Gaming Mouse
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this mouse after replacing my old Deathadder (2013) model, which served its purpose well but eventually died. After scouring through a number of websites, the consensus seems to be that this mouse is one of the best on the market and after playing with it for a couple weeks, I wholeheartedly agree. The mouse is extremely versatile and includes a number of weights that can be added to heighten the drag and slow down your movement. For particularly strong people, this can be a plus, as well as people who do a lot of FPS sniping who want to slow down their DPS. In addition, the mouse lights up and can pulse the light blue coloration in and out, though I haven't figured out if there's a way to change the color. I don't think there is. Shame, as I got this specifically to pair with the Logitech G910 Orion keyboard and it would make so much sense to have them both match their colors together. Minor gripe aside, the mouse responds beautifully. I have it placed on a Logitech 240 Gaming Mouse Pad and it responds with the right amount of drag I need. There is even a preset in the Logitech software for that particular mousepad so it adjusts the DPI instantly - they test these mice on those mousepads (micepads?) and so there's no manual adjustment needed. But speaking of manual adjustment, you can! Just run the software, run your mouse in a figure 8 pattern, and it'll adjust automatically to whatever mousepad you use. Even without that, I have to credit them with a lot of focus placed on the Proteus Core's DPI automatic adjustment. It works well on anything. The Proteus Core also comes with some programmable buttons on the side, which I haven't used yet. I've read that they're useful but are a little oddly placed. I do tend to find myself accidentally clicking one from time to time, hence my hesitation to bind them to a particular function. I'm certain I'll get used to that in time. All in all, this mouse is the BEST mouse I've ever used and is a worthy successor to the Deathadder. It's much more customizeable and responds perfectly to whatever I put it through. Highly recommended!

very nice gaming mouse
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had this mouse before and still have my old one. the only difference now is it has the future to change the color on it. I play first person shooter games such as CSGO, cod4, cod WAW, newer cod games, and any other fps game I can play and have lol. my wife also enjoys the mouse for playing slither, farmtown, and other facebook games. the tracking is amazing and even more amazing once you get the software downloaded and go into the program and calibrate the mouse pad or surface you use. i would give it about a 4.5 star if i could. the reasons. you do have to download the software from online. that is not a big deal, and not the only reason for the 4.5 star. the other issue was that i had the program, and yet i had to basically redownload it again because at first the mouse would now and then just aim down or up randomly. was not that often but still annoying when it would happen. did some digging and even a report and finally was told that i had to re download the program as the one i had would not update automatically. which would not update the firmware. once i did that, no issues at all. however i should not have to dig around to get this answer. also, in shift mode it still requires for the right and left mouse click buttons. i don't know why its needed. a work around i found is to assign those buttons to buttons you prefer not to use. so using shift, i assign my other 2 thumb buttons as my left and right clicks. being that my thumb is already used to toggle shift lol. i like that you can customize the buttons. and set up a couple profiles. i believe 3 are saved in the mouse, and now i believe you can save 6 on the computer. some workarounds are needed as said above at times but once you get used to it, nothing major. for my wife, i set up a profile that swaps the left and right mouse buttons. and a different color. she loves pink so hers is pink lol. for my self i use orange. so that is cool. has 5 dpi settings that you can also set. this is great as i play many games. mainly fps. usually i have it set low and then use the ingame sensitivity to adjust. but when i am in themenu i like it higher, and when i am not gaming i also like higher. has a button for precision aim. 2 ways to us it. either to lower the dpi while pressed or to make it higher. i prefer to make it higher. so when i want to look around faster i press it. comes with weights but its already fairly heavy. i use a goliath speed mouse pad and it glides smooth on that. and i can game for many hours. i don't use any weights. its wired with a braided cord and long. has a Velcro piece on it so you can keep the cord wrapped up some and use the Velcro to hold it. if you love fps games, or games that require precision mouse movement or do things that require that, then i recommend this mouse. not only does it have some color to it, that you can change to any color you want, as well as have it pulse, but also very smooth.

After 1 hour of gaming, I love it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I broke my beloved Logitech G500S mouse last night messing around with the weights. I inserted the weight sled / tray incorrectly and it became permanently jammed. So I bought this new Logitech G502 Proteus Core mouse today at Best Buy. I plugged it in and the Logitech software picked it up right away. The default DPI was noticeably faster than the G500S right away and I could easily turn it down or up at will. I just got through playing Batman Arkham Origins for an hour and it performed wonderfully. It's a perfect replacement for the mouse I loved and fortunately for me, there is no weight tray. The optional weights are simply attached to the bottom of the mouse without a 'dangerous' tray. The G502 also gorgeous, it looks great next to my G710+.

more mouse than one person can handle!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.things that make this mouse amazing: - DPI (mouse sensitivity) through the roof! (200 - 12,000) - Adjustable polling for accelerated mouse motion. (not recommended, but available) - Three different mouse layouts and sensitivity settings. (not a one trick pony) - Adjustable weights for custom weight tuning. (for those that are very picky) - Programmable keys with an added surprise. (it's a bonus but not a game maker) - CUSTOM MOUSE PAD SENSITIVITY. (I didn't now this was a thing let alone how important it was until this mouse set me free!) - UNLOCKING SCROLLING WHEAL! (to fly on down to the bottom and hit accept, because no one reads that stuff. or for some very smooth internet browsing.) - Wired, lets be real, wireless mice are cool. but wired mice are for real gamers. (no batteries, no lag) - Fits like a glove, your hand will be at home. (it's Logitech, it's ergonomically!) - Custom lighting from brightness to fluctuation. (dress to impress) - Overall it's the best mouse i have ever used and wish i would have started with this one. 8/8 i rate mate it's great!

Excellent gaming mouse.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coming from my previous Cyborg R.A.T. 7, I like that this mouse also comes with a kit of weights. While my RAT certainly tickled my tinker bone with it's many moving parts for the perfect adjustment.. I have to admit, the Proteus Core certainly feels a lot more comfortable over all. The auxiliary buttons are more comfortably in reach. I don't feels like I'm throwing off my tracking while trying to hit secondary buttons. I do miss my pinky shelf though..

Not a bad mouse
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this mouse. It replaced my MX18 that finally died on me. I have a Logitech headset and keyboard, so this was a logical choice for me, since it works with the software already running all my Logitech gear. The reason for the one star deduction is for the length of the mouse. I have average sized hands and my preference is to have my palm behind the mouse on my pad (not claw style). But this mouse is long and my thumb can't reach the third thumb button (one closest to the front on the side of the mouse) without rearranging my grip to reach it. I can get to the two top thumb buttons just fine without changing grips. So I would have preferred it to be a little shorter mouse. Other than that it is a great mouse.

Awesome GPS gaming mouse
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded to this from a no name Amazon gaming mouse. It's night and day. Hand comfort, weighting (adjustable for preference), and button placement is awesome. I have rather small hands and it still fits very well with all buttons easily accessible. Dpi goes insanely high (unnecessarily, but still nice). If playing mmorpgs, you may want something with more macro buttons.

Worth the money!!! Awesome Mouse
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this mouse for a while now and i absolutely love it. I use it mainly on my desktop and it is super comfortable. It replaced my Deathadder when it died and it made me realize i should never get another razer mouse. Logitech all the way. 10/10. i would recommend the g303 if your'e looking for a portable mouse. They are essentially the same mouse with different housing.

This mouse is amazing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The mouse feels super comfortable in my hands and I enjoy the added customization with the weights. It feels oddly satisfying each time I click and the DPI shift is useful for instantly lowering the sensitivity when aiming down sights. The second mode which you can activate by G9 button is really good for editing. All in all superb mouse!

Really Comfortable and and Customizable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like that the mouse fits perfectly and is really comfortable. Also, there are many buttons on the mouse and you can adjust its weight to your liking. Lastly, you can customize the RGB lighting on the mouse and the Logitech Gaming Software lets you customize your settings from different profiles, different mousepads, and more.

Perfect gaming mouse. Simple as that.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It fits perfectly in your hand and has weights to allow you to match exactly what is most comfortable to you. It is extremely responsive and the application used to program the buttons is impressive. I love how easy it is to get used to the expertly placed buttons. Very top notch product - we'll worth the 70 I payed for it. Worth full price? Yeah, I'd say it is.

Exemplary mouse for an exemplary price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have 50-60 bucks to spend on a gaming mouse, and you happen to be in the market for a mouse that has: - the ability to change DPI on-the-fly - change the sensitivity of scroll wheel functionality - adjustable weights and weight distribution - User-friendly gaming profile management - The ability to set multiple gaming/sensitivity profiles and change them on the fly - a "sniper button" to "clutch" the DPI to lower settings during sniper fire in FPS - an overall overwhelmingly positive experience Then this is definitely the mouse for you. I had purchased a Razer Deathadder Chroma earlier in the year as I'd read several positive reviews. However; upon using this mouse for no more than a month, I'd noticed that for the price ($60), it was very much overpriced and lacked several features. The ergonomics were great, but the features that many power-users want were simply not there. Logitech's previous version of this mouse, the g500 has been lauded as one of the best gaming mice out there. And for good reason. It was comfortable, versatile for many various grip-types, and reliable. The G502 is no exception. With the built-in thumb holder and the updated ergonomics, small-handed and large-handed users alike will find something to praise on this peripheral. So to sum up, Pros: - listed above, also it's affordable! Cons: - Lack of RGB adjustable lighting profiles, but that has been addressed in the more expensive Proteus Spectrum - It's thinner profile may prove uncomfortable for those with wider hands - the mouse-wheel could have really benefited from a rubber grip rather than the metallic finish. For the reasons listed above, I had to dock it a star. But if you're in the market for a new gaming mouse, look no further. Proteuscore MASTER RACE.

Very nice mouse
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this mouse as my old MS Sidewinder was around 5 or 6 years old now and I wanted something with a few more programmable buttons. The sensor is very accurate and more than fast enough if you feel the need to really ratchet up the dpi. It's a good size for my claw grip. I like the adjustable weights, though I wish that the weight cover would snap into place rather than be held in place with a magnet, but so far there haven't been any problems. I was sent the Spectrum model, and has color changing capabilities but is otherwise identical to the Core model. It does compliment my G510s keyboard nicely. The only minor quibble I have is that the mouse wheel has friction and frictionless mode.. When it's on the frictionless mode, the mouse wheel is comically easy to turn, even gravity will move it. When it's on friction mode, it's actually harder to move than a typical scroll wheel. I wish there was a middle-ground setting. Also the button used to change the modes feels a bit flimsy, but there have been no problems thus far with it. Overall there's a lot to like here. The mouse is fast, accurate, and the software is easy to use and allows for plenty of customization.

Good mouse
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This mouse is replacing my Logitech G500. The G500 was a good mouse, but the buttons & coating are getting worn after several years. This G502 is a very comfortable fit (I'm a palm/whole hand mouse user), though it does sit a bit flatter/lower than the G500. The shape is quite contoured, and the buttons are all well placed. The software has been improving as well, and it's fairly easy to set up your desired DPI settings, including a temporary "DPI Shift" that you can kick in on the fly with the press of a button. It does have a glowing "G," for which you can set a sleep timer, or disable the glow entirely.

Great (minus the scroll wheel)
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm using this mouse primarily for gaming. I like the extra long cord, the way it feels in my hand, and especially the way it looks. I also like the feature of adjusting the weight of the mouse. I figure the additional buttons and their position on the mouse is really about a personal preference (I tend to like less and buttons that fall in natural hand/finger placements). The *only* thing that I find frustrating is the weight and feel of the scroll wheel. It's very chunky - both in the way it operates and in the way it feels against your finger. I don't have much use for the free-scroll feature but the clicks of the scroll could be much more subtle and the wheel itself could be less rigid (is it metal?). It doesn't take that much away from the experience unless you are a scroll-wheel fanatic, I think you'd be happy with this device.

Great gaming mouse!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Okay, I have to admit, I thought I had made a mistake when I purchased this mouse when I discovered that the scroll wheel would spin freely and even move on it's own once in a while when moving the mouse across the mouse pad. I was ready to return it but then I read through the user's manual again and discovered that I missed the ability to change the scroll wheel from free wheel to click mode. Somehow I missed that and of all the reviews I read of it I do not recall it being mentioned. Now that I have changed it to the click mode I absolutely love this mouse!!! Previously I was using the Logitech G5 Laser mouse and have been for years but I thought it was time for an upgrade. I love the ability to tune it to your specific mouse pad, that makes a huge difference in performance to me. It is a bit smaller than the G5 that I was using but it didn't take me long to get used to it. Once I become more familiar with the button layouts and it becomes second nature then this will be the perfect gaming mouse for me!!

Totally Worth it !
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The feel on this G502 is just perfect and the right fit for any gamer out there needing a new mice. The customization is amazing and really like the DPI features as well as the RGB lighting effect. Now I've heard other comments about the scroll wheel making horrendous noise that bother those complainers. Honestly it has a noise when you have it in lock mode so it doesn't scroll endeously, and that does make a noise but not something like oh it's defective, or it's stuck. It's how it's build and personally it suits it. I say give it a try and take advantage of this beast gaming mouse.

Terrific gaming mouse, great mouse overall
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I found the Logitech G502 Proteus Core gaming mouse to be worth it's cost and then some. It feels very natural under my hand, and the ability to select optical sensitivity has been very useful to me as I move between games, and programs. The scroll wheel is, as another reviewer noted, really fun to use. What I really liked is the ability to slow it down with a simple button click (on the top of the mouse). The elegance in the design shows through in the button placement, and ease of use for all features. I have not had any problems some reviewers had noted of a flimsy bottom door (held tight by magnetic close): the mouse is well=-made and the ability to alter weights to suite to my taste was an important feature for me. Previous to this mouse I used a gaming mouse costing more with more adjustable features. However, with all the adjustments made, that mouse did not fit my hand as well as the Logitech G502 does. Overall, one of my best gaming purchases!

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like this mouse. My only complaint is the scroll will is a little heavy.
