    Our Purchase Did Not Work

The model we purchased did not work with the PC or the Xbox. We contacted Logitech support and had a bad experience (with Logitech not Best Buy). They did not try to help us get the device working they just kept asking us to prove we had purchased the device (we had the receipt and all the info but as we went each piece we had to wait about 10 minutes for a response. When they finally confirmed our purchase they just told us to return it for repair (without trying anything other than asking me to plug it into another socket). Best Buy honored the purchase and gave us the refund immediately but we have a sad little boy.

Doesn't work on PC with Forza Horizon 5

I bought this for Forza Horizon 5 and it doesn't work. There is a workaround to get the device recognized but it's buggy at best. Do not buy if you intend on using for this game until bugs are worked out and patched.

Hello DevKore, Very sorry to hear about the issues you're having with the G923 Racing Wheel not working with Forza Horizon 5. Unfortunately, that game isn't compatible at this time. I highly suggest that you download Logitech's Options software which will update the firmware for your G923 especially for new games. Here's the link to the download:  https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/articles/360052979333-Download-G923-TRUEFORCE-Sim-Racing-Wheel-for-Xbox-One-and-PC. Hope that you found this helpful and that all is going better. Thank you for being a Logitech customer. - Richard from Logitech

This is the wheel to get

Logitech’s G923 steering wheel is the latest accessory that I didn’t know that I absolutely needed until I actually got my hands on one. I guess that while I wasn’t paying attention, racing games have progressed somewhat from the days of Pole Position in the arcades. Actually, I kid. I have dipped my toes into nearly all of the racing games that I came across, but never really "got" them. I'm not a gearhead, the appeal of playing a hyper realistic racing sim by pushing a d-pad and some buttons to pretend I was driving a car I’ll never afford didn’t really draw me in, and having never driven a high end supercar, I didn’t much care if the physics were realistic enough to feel like the programmers were delivering an accurate portrayal. I preferred arcade racers and kart-style games over the more simulation focused ones. I felt that however good a simulation is, if the input isn’t authentic then neither is the experience. This being my first high end steering wheel, I didn’t realize how much stuff came in the box, nor did I expect the unit to require its own power adapter. I also didn’t realize that it needed to be clamped down to use effectively. When the clamps wouldn’t open wide enough to fit on my computer desk, I studied the quick start sheet to see what I was doing wrong, but the clamps on the form looked nothing like the clamps on my unit. I had to download the .pdf manual from Logitech’s support website to learn that there were clamp extenders for thinner tables and desks pre-installed, and that I could remove them to fit my desk. Getting the wires all plugged in and routed through the grooves on the bottom of the unit took some doing, and is really important to do properly otherwise the wires prevent the wheel from clamping to the desk securely. I guess you can purchase specialty mounts for the wheel and pedals (and optional gear shifter, sold separately) in rapidly escalating levels of trim, for a more permanent mounting solution. Finding an open USB slot to plug in did cause a slight hiccup. The first place I plugged in was the USB 3.1 hub built into my monitor, where my keyboard dongle and mouse are also plugged in, but after plugging in the wheel, my mouse became unresponsive and the RGB lights on it dimmed. I then had to unplug a couple things from the back of my PC, as only the ports on the motherboard worked properly to give the wheel enough juice while still powering the rest of my peripherals. The wheel is very luxurious feeling, and wouldn’t look out of place on any newer car, especially one that is way out of my price range. The pedals are higher quality than the ones in my car. The brake pedal does take some force to press, enough to slide the base for the pedals along my hardwood floor despite its weight. The gear shifter paddles that take the place of the top bumper buttons are easy to reach, as are the rest of the buttons, provided you aren't moving the wheel at the time. Unless you keep both hands on the wheel at all times, the gear shifter paddles can be a risky thumb remover. Since the wheel allows 900 degrees of rotation, you pretty much have to let go of the wheel with at least one hand to make a really tight turn. With force feedback it’ll snap that wheel pretty quickly back, so if you have a thumb hooked in to the wheel because you are used to doing that with a regular car, it can really do some damage. I also found it difficult to figure out where the buttons were whenever I had to change hand positions during a turn. On PC, game support is sort of a toss up since the wheel is so new, and there are some special configurations required depending on the game, as well as if you have Steam installed (which, if you are gaming on a PC in 2020, you better have it installed). In the first Project Cars game, I had to let the game think I was using the older G920 model, though the newest game is supposed to have support on release. I wasn’t able to get Forza 4 on PC Game Pass to recognize the wheel at all, though the Xbox One version of the game recognized it fine, although on there I wasn’t able to figure out how to shift gears. That’s really the limiting factor with such a niche piece of kit, is that you are dependent on either game developers or a robust community of fans to support the peripheral properly. I had read on some forum about getting a game to recognize the wheel properly by tweaking some config files and messing with the registry, which despite my comfort with doing such, I feel I shouldn’t have to do in this day and age. As the owner of a VR headset, I tried some racing games with VR support as soon as I got the headset, before I got my wheel, but quickly lost interest due to the motion sickness that came with having the environment move without actually feeling any movement. After getting the wheel, I figured that it deserved another shot, and I am so glad that I did. Having a wheel with force feedback is the holy grail of overcoming VR motion sickness in racing games. I could really feel the difference in textures when my car went from driving over tarmac and onto the grass, every bump from gravel roads. I was content to load up practice mode, hop in a BAC Mono, set a desk fan blowing at my face (both to give the illusion of wind at high speeds and to keep that hot VR headset from making my face sweat too much), and just drive around in circles, marveling at how far technology has come to let me convincingly have the experience of driving a quarter million dollar super car from the luxury of my own bedroom. Consider me a racing sim convert. I’ve been checking out every game that the wheel supports, considering joining online racing leagues, and pricing out a collapsible mounting system. My VR headset has gone from collecting dust to being fought over since my wife (who really does like cars) has been clocking more time on the wheel than I have. And even though I don’t know how to drive a stick shift in real life, I’m considering getting a gear shifter add-on since there’s a pedal that I don’t use that intrigues me (yes, I play with auto-clutch because I never learned stick and kept stalling out while playing). Now driving my real-life car feels a little floaty and I don’t “feel the road” as much as I do when I’m all kitted up in my gaming setup.

Simply doesn’t work with Xbox games. Tried on F1 22 and F1 21 as well as Forza Horizon 5. Pedal wrongs fine but steering wheel doesn’t respond and thus the car doesn’t turn. Bought two thinking the first was defective since the pedals worked fine but the second one had the same issue. Ended up returning both until a verified fix is available. Have the same wheel for my PS5 and it works fine so seems to just be an Xbox issue.

    WOW Factor of 5!

Summary: This is probably one of the coolest things I have had a chance to play with in a while! I remember in the 90’s when I got my first force feedback joystick for space simulators and it was a game changer… the G923 racing wheel provided me the same experience and wow factor with supported games. Here is my review of the racing wheel. Pros: • Feels like a real wheel • Force feedback feels extremely real • Pedals have proper resistance • Mounting brackets work on most tables • Minimal cables needed • Easy setup Cons • Bulky, hard to store • Had a few setup issues with some games • All features not widely supported • Pedals can slide around on carpet Unboxing: The interior of the box is pretty straight forward. Inside you will find very basic documentation, the wheel, pedals and required cables. The product is neatly packed and feels very shock resistant. I was very much impressed with the product as there is leather, aluminum accents (blue) and metal shift pedals. The pedals are metal as well. All items have great weight and feel premium. Setup: The product is mostly plug and play. Plug in the wheel to power, plug the pedals to the wheel and plug the USB cable into the computer. After that, install the Logitech software to get proper support. When you first plug it in to the computer or xbox, the wheel will rotate itself to the max range of motion and it is pretty cool to see. On the PC, after installing the software, the product would not recognize my actions in the test panels, but the issue was corrected after a computer reboot and never reoccurred. Xbox had no issues. Use: I mainly test on the PC with some minor testing on Xbox One X. I purchased the game GRID (2019) as it supports 100% of the features on this wheel. On Xbox I test with Forza Horizon 4 which does not support the force feedback but does support the use of a wheel. The WOW factor was instantly there in Grid. The wheel will transfer any bump, slip, crash or vibration to your hands. Keep in mind, this is not a rumble or bump like most force feedback, it feels like the actually feel you will obtain in a real car. If you slide your car out of control, the wheel will feel like you have lost traction. If you hit another car, you will feel the wheel simulating a push to the other side. It is amazing! The pedals work well. I found the brake to be a little on the stiff side which was only an issue on carpet as it caused the base to slide if I took my other foot off the base to stabilize it. On floor, it held fairly well. On Xbox I tested with Forza Horizon 4 which is supported with the exception of force feedback. It works pretty well and is highly responsive, but it did not feel necessary. There are only two games on their website that support all the features as of now. They are Grid (2019) and Assetto Corsa Competitzione for Xbox and PC. I hope more games will support the force feedback feature as it is amazing. I would love to play Forza games with this feature.
