    Great Headset (over Bluetooth)

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

To tell you the truth a pair of wireless headphones was the last thing I want, I had no need for them… That being said… I was wrong. These Things are great! I use them a lot more than I ever expected. The good (great things) about them: Sound quality (over Bluetooth): I think these things sound great. From reading other reviews I had read that the sound quality was not the best for this kind of music or that kind of music, so I tried it on a few different types. So I synced it to my iPod’s Bluetooth, and I first tried it out on some quieter acoustic things, listening to some Avett Brothers… no complaints. Some complaints came up about hissing in other reviews, but nothing there. I tested it a little further with something more complex: Kanye West’s “Gone”… The song switches between bass, quiet pianos, deep strings, high strings, etc… all sounded great. Sure the bass was not as rich as what it would be on a pair of Skullcandy Aviators, or Beats, but Logitech does not claim it will be as rich. I will warn that all my music is streamed through Spotify, so it is not CD quality, but when comparing the exact same audio coming through multiple devices (headphones, car radio, surround sound) the headphones are just as good if not better. Sound is also great with speech. Listening to audiobooks, podcasts, even phone calls… all good quality. Range: The box quotes about a 40-foot range; I must say I can agree with this. It was great being able to leave my phone in the bedroom and walk around the house with out the fear of a wire catching something while doing housework, or dipping into dishwater. I even walked outside in heavy Missouri winter winds, the headset lost connection, but when I entered my concrete basement it re-connected, and started right where it left off, with just as good of quality as when I was sitting right next to the iPod. Comfort: With thick padding on the ears and headband the headphones were some of the most comfortable I have tried yet. Portability: These things fold up just small enough to fit into a coat pocket (Shown below). The Battery lasts for some time, it does have to charge through a USB, which seems like it would be a pain, but it is few and far between needing a charge. Mic: I do not use the mic often, so it is nice that it folds up to be flush with the band, so when wearing them on the streets it doesn’t look like you are wearing a lame pair of computer headphones, but when the mic is needed it folds down and bends back and forth from the mouth with its flexible attachment. Ease of use: Easy to setup, nice large buttons, which are glove friendly for the winter. The not so good: Sound quality (over wireless receiver): The 2.4GHz does not carry the best sound with it. Maybe would be good for chatting, but any quality from music or game sound effects are lost. (So maybe get a Bluetooth dongle if you want to use it with a computer that does not have Bluetooth built in, seen below) Would have also been nice to have the option to plug in a 3.5mm jack in if you wanted to use them wired, for even better sound (like on the Beats design) Durability: Made of plastic, does not seem super durable. Only time will tell. Noise Isolation: Good sound, but that person you’re sitting next to on the plane will be able to hear it just a well as you can. No private conversations here. With the amount that I wrote on the good rather than the bad, I hope that it is conveyed that I really enjoyed these headphones. Though they had some flaws they are some of the most practical ones I have tried yet, in my long line of failed headphone solutions.

    Headset for home phone

Very comfortable, you have to do a little trial and error with the microphone to find the correct placement so that people on the other end can hear clearly but once you have it down it is great. Microphone piece is flexible and can be moved around to get it in the right spot for your head/mouth. This is very nice b/c everyone's voice carries differently and it helps so people can hear you clearly on the other end. The Best Buy rep. that helped me sold this to me to be compatible with my Bluetooth home phone but it does NOT work with cordless phones which was a disappointment. It does however work great with my cell phone and is a joy to have when on long conference calls. Range is decent but if you are going to move around while on a call I would recommend putting your cellphone in your pocket to avoid cutting out. Sometimes there is unexplained cutting out but it is not all that often so I can live with it. In my opinion the one downfall is that there is not a real good way to tell battery percentage before you get on a call and sometimes it starts to cut out and act funky in the middle of a conference call. That usually tells me that the battery light (which is located up on your earphone) has probably changed to yellow and the headset needs to be charged again. Remember to charge every night as battery duration is not that long and even if you didn't use it much the day before the next day it won't last for long if it wasn't charged overnight.

    Good perfromance and versatility

First, I like the fact that the headset is blutooth and usb capable. Not all my devices are blutooth capable so having the nano receiver option really expands the number of devices the unit will work with. Logitech conveniently provides a storage compartment for the receiver so you always have it if you need it. Very nice. Pairing is quite simple and I quickly had it paired with both my cell phone and my PS3. When playing MP3s from my phone, the headset sounds quite nice and had plenty of volume. I already own a S9 rocker stereo blutooth headset and I found the logitech unit to outperform it in several areas. I found the sound to be better while the S9 focuses on compact size. Reception on the logitech was quite impressive as I could leave my phone in my basement and listen to music on the second story. Yes, that is through 2 floors (likely depends partly on the performance of your blutooth devices transmitter power. I was using an LG Rumor Touch). I didn't do a range test outdoors but I am sure it will be equally impressive. It is adjustable and comfortable to wear, even for my big noggin, for long periods while working or playing. The battery life is also superior. I can play music for hours before charging is necessary. I also like the fact that cell call audio, while possibly mono, still plays on both speakers. My S9 goes drops to one speaker in call mode and on the PS3. One thing that can vary from headset to headset is how it pairs with the PS3. Some require you to manually go in and connect each time to the PS3, while others connect up automatically after the initial pairing process. This is probably mostly due to the firmware in the headset but it is easy to understand why automatic is the best. The PS3 blutooth apparently differs from cell phones, so the power up linking after the devices are paired can change for the PS3 for some reason, while all my devices seem to link automatically with my phone. This headset does automatically link with the PS3 when the headset is turned on, which is nice. Just like any headset, if you have been using it with one device and switch to another device, you have to refresh the link the first time you link the devices again. From that point, it will automatically link with that device until you link it to another paired device. The second way to connect this headset, via the usb, is plug and play. Your usb equipped device will automatically install the driver once you insert the receiver, and you will be listening in less than a minute. The only difference is operation from one to the other is that the power selector needs to be in usb mode instead of blutooth mode. Easy peezy. The sound quality between modes sounds equally good having good bass response and dynamic range. Just keep in mind that these are under a $100 bucks and wireless and should not be compared to a high end audiophile grade plug in headset. In closing, I find this headset to be an excellent performer for the price and feel it would be excellent for most users. Like the majority of logitech devices, the performance, price, and quality are always top notch and I highly recommend this headset.

The Logitech H800 is pretty decent as wireless headphones go. The main draw is its ability to pair with your phone via Bluetooth, as well as you PC via a wireless adapter. This allows for easy switching between phone calls and Skype calls, or any other application that requires a mic (such as voice chat in video games). The range is a bit better than some of the cheaper Bluetooth headphones I've owned, and I've not run into any issues with it dropping connections or refusing to connect. Sound quality is good, though nowhere near what you'd get from wired headphones in the same price range. You're definitely paying for convenience as opposed to fidelity, and if sound quality is your primary concern, you might be disappointed. However, they work well enough that less discerning listeners will probably like them quite a bit, especially when compared to ear buds or speakerphone sound. They are lightweight, which is a plus, but the plastic feels thin and cheap. They have barely any clamping force, which means they fall right off my head if I look down abruptly. The band flexes a lot and I feel like I need to be extra careful with them, compared to the industrial studio headphones I normally use. Button placement is good, and the controls are responsive. I find the switch that goes from off to Bluetooth to (whatever the other wireless connection is called) is kind of fiddly, and I have to put some effort into selecting the correct mode. So overall, there are better sounding, more rugged headphones out there for the price. However, I needed these specifically for their ability to switch from phone to PC and back quickly and reliably, and for that, they do a great job. 4 stars, with a lot of caveats.

So, first all of the good. The headset is easy to set up and use. It has very clear sound/good range. It has pretty good range (distance) as well. I used it with my phone and my old laptop. Additionally, it charges really quick and the charge lasts for quite a long time. Very lightweight and comfortable to wear as well. The only downside (pretty big actually). It does not work with windows 8/8.1 currently. So, I tried to use it with my new computer, and it wouldn't recognize it. Of course, when I actually went to the website for support, it stated that. So, I couldn't mark it down since it provided what it said it was supposed to provide. Great headset. I would definitely recommend unless you're using windows 8/8.1.

    Only choice for Bluetooth conferences

There are very few headphones that work with Bluetooth. There are plenty of tiny headsets for cellphones but not suited for 8 hours of calls. Luckily this one is close to perfect. It's light and comfortable for what it is. It doesn't get hot on the ears. It's call quality on skype is as good as I've had on any device. It connects via Bluetooth dongle or directly over Bluetooth. I could not get it successfully connected to my laptop without dongle but I'm glad it ended up that way. It has a flip switch to use the dongle or just the Bluetooth. Once connected to my mobile phone, I can switch from computer to phone via the headphone switch. Awesome. The experience for whomever is on the other end is as good as any headset I've owned. This picks up my voice and suppresses other noise better. I have devices that can go further from source but this one is adequate. I can go to another room but not much further. I'd say it'll go 25 to 30 feet but I haven't tested without obstructing walls.

I bought this headset as an upgrade to an earlier model that did not have bluetooth capability. Bluetooth works fantastic with my Samsung Smart phone and with a flip of a switch can convert to a wireless headset to be used with my laptop for listening via a mini nano receiver that plugs into the usb port. Good sound quality. Once charged it will last for several hours of non stop use. The older model had a slot built into the headset to transport the nano receiver. This one does NOT. Love the fact that there are no wires to deal with. Listening or talking capability is about 30 ft. from the source (maximum).

These are light weight, good voice clarity to other end and good clear reception. battery lasts about 4-6 hours, with lots of chatting. Hands free, can step away , good range 100 ft or so. Down side is the recharge port and connection. The metal that retains the usb plug-in for charging is lousy., If headset is dropped or bumped while charge cable is plugged in it seems to expand the female portion of the port to make connecting loose.. Took two replacement batteries to finally realize that the battery wasn't actually bad, in fact the connection area doesn't maintain connectivity to charge the battery. Now I set the headset to the side, with a little tension on charge connection cable, and make sure to get the battery to charge up. You can see the light display flashing when charging is happening. Logitech support and I have gone round and round not fun to deal with AT ALL. All said and done I tried 4 other top of the line, wireless, Bluetooth headset -- , in ear isn't my thing, head back wrap over ear wasn't comfortable, sound quality wasn't as good, so nothing better I could find, and these were about 50 to $100 cheaper. With a little more care , think the connector can be dealt with. would give 5 stars if didn't have to be so careful with that port, and their support was worth anything. May want to consider the extended warranty (wouldn't normally) so you can just take them back If connector expands over a couple years.

I spend quite a bit of time on the phone for work using VoIP. I bought these for that purpose. They work great for phone calls and don't keep me tied down to my computer with a cord. The sound quality is good. Not gamer quality. But it gets the job done for a reasonable price. The range on it works about as advertised. I can get about 3 rooms away before it starts to cut out. The Bluetooth works well also(I've only used it twice) The only issue I've run into is, if my computer goes to sleep I have to disconnect the wireless adapter and then plug it back in. Other than that one issue the headset works well. I've already recommended it to several co-workers.

Charged it up first. Switched it on near computer and it found 'device' and installed the drivers automatically. Ear piece controls work perfect and from others they say the voice they hear when I'm speaking is loud and clear. It says 40' range, and I've heard others complain about moving to another room and dropping off or temporarily losing contact. I've had this at 40+ feet without issue. Solid product and great value when on sale.

So far, these have been excellent. The range is very good. I was able to walk across my house, and I could still hear what was happening in a meeting. I'm a teacher, and I'm better able to hear students when I'm using these. They also seem to hear me better. I am not too sure about the noise canceling of the mic. I made a video for a school event, and I could hear highway noise from my street in the background. The noise-canceling of the headphones is good, though. Overall, these are great. They're comfortable. I can move all around my workspace and not worry about losing connection or pulling on cords. Good value for the money. I'm happy so far.

I mostly use them at work when Skyping during meetings. They connect well via Bluetooth or wifi during phone calls. They have a 30' range from the USB connection. No tethering of a cord! Works as advertised! The adjustments work well and feels comfortable wearing for extended time. The mic folds out of the way when you just want to listen. The mute is a nice feature too.
