    This remote is ok, it’s certainly not the best ever. We bought one about 3 years ago, so we’ve been using it for quite some time. It works ok with our smart tv to get us to the hub & to open the apps. The back button only works when it wants to. The most annoying thing about it though is whenever it’s accidentally dropped or the batteries are low, you have to go through the entire tutorial over & over again. I wouldn’t purchase it again.

    Spent hours on the phone with Logitech and at home. Never did work right. Would work one day and not the next. Would not control volume when using my Samsung Blue ray. Its easier to just use two remotes I have to do the job much more reliably

    Button design flaw

    ABSOLUTE JUNK !! I've owned 2 650s, 1 665 & 1 700. ALL 4 of them had the 4 buttons around the screen stop working after less than 1 year of normal use. My 1st 650 developed problems after only 6 months. I don't throw my remotes, I don't push heavy on the buttons, I respect electronics and have I have nice stuff. Anyway, I finally opened 1 up and discovered that there is a flaw in the design, which means this problem will most likely happen to ALL of the remotes built the same way. BUYER BEWARE .. it's only a matter of time!! The problem is that there is a solid plastic backing plate for the buttons, it has holes drilled to guide the back of the button onto the board where it makes contact to tell the remote the button was pushed. The ONLY buttons that don't have that reinforcement are the 4 buttons around the screen, the SAME buttons that quite a few other reviewers also say failed on their remotes. That being said, there are some positives, that's the reason I'm about to buy number 5. 1) No proprietary software like "high end" remotes. 2) They are great before they fail. 3) The price is right. 4) The software is pretty simple to use. I'll update once #5's buttons start getting glitchy.

    It is a remote and works as designed. It defaults to set up too often, so I wish there was a way to deactivate that.

    Not so great as advertised

    This remote is great if you want to reprogram it every time you use it. After a week of doing this I have settled for just using it on my TV and nothing else. The control of the satellite is horrid and not much better for the sound bar. I will agree that the touch screen will allow you to correct the problem usually, but it will not last and will do it all over again the next time you use it. The next remote I buy will be an OEM, at least with them you know what you are getting.

    A big step backward for Logitech

    Bought to replace an older Logitech remote, the Harmony 650. New remote uses different software, so I had to download the new "upgraded" software and then transfer my settings from the old software. After doing so several of the activities I had set up no longer worked. Had to go through the set up again. Also, the new software has the wrong number of inputs for my receiver, and I can see no way to add new inputs. It only lets you rename existing inputs, so I can only access 4 of my 6 HDMI inputs using this remote. Also has a learning function to learn commands from your remotes, but it took me 10 minutes to get it to learn one command from my receiver's remote. The worst part about the new remote is the volume control. Volume adjustments are made at a rate of one increment per second, regardless of how quickly you press the button or if you hold it down. Since my receiver goes from 0 to 60 in 0.5 dB increments, it takes a couple of minutes to get to the desired volume setting. The old remotes were much more responsive and holding the volume button down would quickly raise or lower the volume. I won't be buying from them again, and will probably try to find a used or refurbished remote that uses the old software. Very disappointed.

    Not worth the effort

    I usually stay away from writing reviews, but this product is just frustrating, to say the least. First of all, the harmony software is poorly made, it took me literally 5 hours of trying, plugging and unplugging, removing and reinstalling and restarting my computer until I was able to get past the "add activities" screen (it would freeze and not go past that). When I finally got the remote setup (which it hanged at 99% of the sync and stayed there till unplugged) the interface is clumsy. Don't get me wrong, this remote would probably be good with and old TV or if you have an A/V receiver, but for my setup which consist of a samsung ks8000 tv a samsung sound bar, a cable box and an xbox, the smart control included with my samsung tv does the job pretty good. My samsung remote turns on my tv, soundbar and cable box with just the power button, if I switch to the xbox input the xbox turns on by itself and I can even control the xbox with the samsung remote. The only reason why I bought the harmony is because my samsung remote broke, and a OEM replacement is close to $75. I will take my chances with a $10 replacement from Amazon.

    I May Return It

    Even though my particular DVR appears in their software, it simply does not work with this remote. The unit will not turn on, and if I can't get it to function, it defeats the purpose of buying this remote. ($49). So far, I am very disappointed, after being assured by Logitech that all my devices would work with this remote. Tech support is minimal, at best. I am going to keep trying to get this to work, although I may end up returning it.

    Far from a 'Best Buy'

    I'm a fan of Harmony remotes, I bought this to replace a 700 that served me well for years. This would have been a great deal from BestBuy (better than Amazon by far!!) however my experience has been an epic fail. Used this for 2 weeks when the 'up' button stopped working unless you mash it super hard. BB has a 15d return policy so they wouldnt help and pointed me to Logitech. Logitech has a 1yr warranty, they troubleshooted and agreed it's a hardware issue & needs to be replaced. Then they called me at 7am on a Saturday to tell my voicemail that they're out of stock and to wait for an email status....NOTHING. Meanwhile BB shows available inventory that could be delivered tomorrow - sigh. I feel so screwed by this purchase - they took my money and have delivered negative value. Don't fall for it, you'll get nothing but headaches that you cannot return!

    Looking for a replacement after 1 year.

    Well after a year of use I'm going to say these devices are disappointing. Either A) They use a set of AA batteries per month or B) The devices are disappointingly faulty. They have a handy set-up when you first turn them on which is helpful the first or second time. But when you grab the remote to watch a movie after the second or third month and this "set-up" prompt often happens again. And again. The ease of use it nice, the screen is bright and they control all of my devices but when you hit the "On" button you just want to watch a show. Not fight with the remote of have to grab another set of batteries. I bought two 665 remotes when the puppy chewed the originals that came with the TV and DVD. I'll be searching for a replacement soon but it won't be Logitech.

    This remote has not worked from the start. I bought this remote and everything people say in the reviews are wrong. Yes the remote will try and will help you fix the problems but.... that should not happen each time I try to turn on my devices on and each time I turn them off. Complete waste of money. I try to turn on my Samsung TV, DirecTV and the Bose sound bar, each time its a crap shoot on what will turn on. What ever does not turn on or off it will ask to help to correct the situation and that works but that happens every time you turn your devices on and when you turn them off. Do not buy this remote if you have a MAC, the software to program is way different than the PC and is harder to program.
