Please consider an alternative

I've had this remote for one year to control: Denon receiver, Sony Smart TV, Sony Blu Ray, Fios Cable Box, and and Xbox 1. For starters, the software requires Win7 compatibility mode, otherwise it won't work. THEN, I have run the executable because the shortcut doesn't work. Power off.. maybe, maybe not, maybe everything randomly turns on. Watch Smart TV... but first switch over to Cable TV, and then back. Watch TV... and turn on Blu Ray. Watch Netflix... but first switch over to Cable. I resynch my remote once a week and it doesn't solve the problem. Customer support from Logitech? Yeah right. On the plus side, the volume, menu, and info buttons consistently work.

battery life
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.they should have made it with a rechargeable battery. i was changing batteries every 3 weeks and i had to teach myself how to use it, there was not much info, the info i found online was basic info. i went back to what i had before. good luck with those tiny buttons.

Batteries and more batteries

Almost every other week we have to put new batteries in and it has cost us a fortune. After a couple of years it hardly functions properly. It takes forever to turn on the sound bar. Sooo frustrating.

Posted .Hello, Very sorry to hear how quickly your Harmony 665 Universal Remote went through batteries. The battery life cycle of the Harmony remote will vary based on usage. As Harmony is doing all the work of your old remotes, the batteries may drain faster than a single device remote. If your remote uses AA batteries, they should typically last for three to six months. If that usage is much faster, it may be that a button was stuck leaving the LCD screen on which drains the battery up faster. Buttons way too small and don’t work half the time

And we have to take it back not worth $100 the buttons are too tiny they also don’t seem to respond well I have to hit them two or three times to get any of the commands to work with her it’s play pause then Daily it doesn’t control all of our devices we have a new Sony TV above the sound bar and it just seems to be hit and miss whether it will operate them in the same way every day it’s very frustrating I don’t recommend it at all if I could give it zero stars I would I’ll give it one star because it does operate the television and the sound bar

Worse waste of money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was trying to combine a tv samsung remote and a vizio soundbar one, both remotes have about 8 buttons between them. All I really needed was the back button and a menu botton. Couldnt find them and setting up a "tv watching" ritual was another wasted hour. Tried to "learn" my existing, but I dont know all the questions it wants to know about my current input choices. I just turn my tv on and it works! But, this thing has about 40 wasted buttons and any remote you have to set up on a computer is a pain. It also would not work, turning my tv off and on after an hour. I want to take an axe to it, but need my money back. The buttons are super soft and feel cheap.

For Multiple TV's, don't bother.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't bother with trying to set this remote up for multiple same-brand TV's in the same room, unless you're literally a software engineer. I sell software for a living, and I gave up after 45 minutes. Can't distinguish between same-brand TV's in the same room. If you just have a single TV and then are trying to control a soundbar or DVD or something that's not a TV, it will probably work fine. I was very disappointed, same-day return on this, after Best Buy told me that it would allow independent control of 3 different Samsung smart TV's on the same wall.

Posted .Hello. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and concerns regarding the Harmony 665 remote. You are correct in your findings that the 665 will not be able to control multiple of the same brand TV separately. Most brands will use the same code for all of their models when it comes to Universal Remotes. If you had different brand Televisions in the room, you would be able to program the remote to control them independently, but with the same brand, the single code will most often control all of them the same.

Nice when it works

No Harmony with This Remote!

If you wish to have total frustration by all means buy it! It worked perfect for 3 days. Stopped working on the third day we called their tech support. The lady wanted us to massage every button on the remote with everything turned off. Still nothing, next unplug the TV, press the help screen, next take the batteries out of the Harmony remote at which point we lost everything. The lady kept asking what do you see, we said nothing, but that was unclear to her. The only way to get everything back was with the original remotes. Scan all the channels and everything works. The Harmony wasn't for us

Your remote's serial number is invalid

Like others, getting an error message 'Your remote's serial number is invalid. Please contact customer support. [HP1002]'. Called support and they said that the remote was defective. Doing a Google search indicates that others have experienced the same error. so it is not that THIS remote is defective, it is that a LOT of THEM are defective.

MyHarmony software is buggy and broken
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Contacted Logitech on 12/22/18 - I was unable to create the required account with the MyHarmony application, it stated Invalid Email ID. Even though I've used a Harmony 700 since 2011 with the same email address. Logitech promptly confirmed they saw the same issue. Over a month later they have finally identified the problem with their software and are "hopeful" it will be fixed and are unable to provide a timeline. I now have 2 Harmony 665s that I am unable to program that Best Buy will hopefully allow me to return.

crappy remote

I spent 45 min. to an hour setting this remote up. Had all of the model number of the devices that I wanted to control with the remote only to have it not work at all. I wish I could get that hour of my life back. do youself a favor and pick a different brand. Harmony 665 is a huge waist of your time.

Posted .Hi Peter, I'm sorry that the buttons continue to lose the paint on them. Because of the way the buttons are made on the remotes overtime the dirt and grime of daily activities will wear them off. Its the nature of the game! I'm sorry that this has happened to you multiple times. I hope that aside from that one downfall you have enjoyed the use of the Harmony 665 remote! Thank you for being a Logitech customer. What an annoying device
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Way too complicated to set up and I have a lot of patience. Controls are not intuitive at all. It's much less annoying and frustrating to just use my existing remotes than to deal with this nonsense. I work in IT support so I'm no luddite but I'm not willing to spend hours trying to figure out this thing. Thank god it was free and I didn't actually pay for it.

Not for the elderly

My sister bought this remote for my father for Christmas last year and it has been an epic nightmare for him to use, he has bad eye sight and this remote has way too many rabbit holes to go down in. Its not easy to understand and a lot of supposed functions will be turned off and not function.

Does not work with Roku 3810R

The only thing is does is power on the device and control the sound bar other than that it is useless. You should add an exception stating it does not work with the Roku 3810R.

Harmony works with over 270,000 devices from 6,000+ brands and at Logitech's website there is a compatability check that will tell you what Harmony device would best work with your device. For example, when I ran your Roku 3810R through it came up with the Harmony Hub products and Harmony Express as the devices that are compatible. Not happy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Apparently I didn't research this product before purchasing, and it turns out in order to use this remote you must own a laptop or desktop computer. I guess my tablet and mobile device aren't in those requirements. I date this a one because to me that is non-sense. Also now I have to try to return this product which is another trip to the store.

Worthless

Tried 3 different ones. So it is now useless. Can't factory reset. Taking out batteries doesn't work. There is no solution from Logitech, letting all people hang on the same issue. Buy from another brand!!!!

DO NOT BUY

For years I've complained I can't sign into my account to get into the community forums on any browser. Still can't. No help to be had, as I didn't buy from BB, but direct from Logitech. Waste of money, energy and time.
