Just what I was looking for

This remote is exactly what I was wanting, rf capability, easy to program, backlit (when moved), good problem resolution. The only thing you have to be careful with is grabbing it and initiating an activity you did not intend to. I have all my media gear in a closet, with just my tv mounted on the wall and all is working as I would have hoped.

I have been using Harmony Remotes for a very long time, about 3 generations of their products. Jumping from a $75.00 - $120.00 remote to a $300.00+ remote was a big decision, not one that went without a lot of research. I finally decided to make the jump, and I am glad that I did. The Harmony Elite is the latest remote from Harmony and a very powerful handheld remote. Every generation of Harmony remotes gets easier to program and set up, and the Elite is no different. I have read that some people don't like having to use the app for the initial setup. I personally do not understand this complaint. Using the app is so much easier than opening the program on the computer, doing the programming, and then plugging the remote in and waiting for it to upload, unplugging, and then testing. So I for one like the use of the app for the initial programming. Initial setup of the Elite was straightforward and easier than earlier generations. After installing the app, I had all of my components installed and base activities set up within 20 minutes. But like any device that offers so many options, functions, and devices, it may take a little while to get it completely to your liking and flushing out little problems. If you can't seem to flush out a problem, like a device not going to the correct setting or a slow initial powerup, Harmony's tech support is outstanding. I haven't had to use it yet for the Elite, but I have in the past, and they were great. Not only am I using the Elite for my media center, comprised of audio, video, streaming, and recording, I am also using it to help control my Nest thermostat and lighting in the room. This remote is truly a smart-home remote. If you want to control a complete smart home, the Elite will do it. It controls environmental systems, lights, screens and shades, and many other smart home features; but I'm not sure you would want to. The touch screen is nice and responsive and looks great But in my opinion, it is a bit small for a complete home solution. For my future smart home, which I am designing right now, I am looking at Control 4, Crestron, or AMX. But for my single-room media center and temperature control and lighting, I could not be happier with the Harmony Elite. I highly recommend this remote.

I was a previous Harmony Ultimate user and this remote has addressed the number one concern from that remote which was the poor button placement for the transport keys. I also have managed to integrate this into my Amazon Echo with Fantastic Results!

I've had a number of Harmony Remotes. I tend to upgrade every 2-3 years. The Elite is just fantastic. Better button layout. The lcd screen is better. And the new programming software and app is a huge step forward. No need to plug the remote into the computer to update!

I have a 5.1 theatre system that was purchased and set up by Best Buy. It consist of a Yamaha 5850, blue ray payer, direct tv, Apple TV, Netflix, Klispch towers, Klispch center, Klispch rears and Woofer. The receiver is about ten years old. The tech that programmed the new Haromony didn't recommend using the eyes. He said it was because of my limitations of available HDMI ports. The Harmony is much slower than I anticipated it would be. You must hold it pointed at my system and it takes 2-3 attempts on some occasions to get the desired outcome. My personal opinion is that the unit is over priced for what it does for my application!

Here is how I rate remotes: Can my kids and wife use the without issue? Does it work correctly with all devices? It does all of that and then some. I can even change the channel by speaking to Alexa. The only downside I see is that there are no longer number buttons. You have to swipe to the screen to enter numbers.

Product turns on and controls our dish, TV, Blueray player and receiver with one device. It has many more features that I haven’t figured out yet. Only negative so far is that it is slow to page up and down on the Dish menu.

It's not a revolutionary piece of equipment. It identifies (via network discovery or user input) the equipment, loads the control commands for the selected equipment, and controls it via IR, bluetooth or wifi. It is NOT a smart automation device that plugs into all your devices' fun RS232 jacks. It is NOT a smart device that will poll connected equipment for statuses or conditions from which you can create program statements. If you get the IR blaster and hub placement correct, it will dutifully replicate button presses on a devices' original controller and send the command. From that perspective, it works great. Sometimes you'll need to play with the settings to reissue commands (how many times you'll resend that IR signal for a device) and you certainly need the hub to have wifi connectivity (I'd have loved a hardwired option). If it had Homekit support without a hack, I'd pay double. The manual and even online documentation sucks pretty good, so one star taken off, hopping onto the forum for more advanced programming scenarios is a little lame. But overall the device performed as I expected, I just get the feeling Logitech requires it's customers to do a bit too much digging to set those expectations properly.

This was very easy to set up initially, worked first time. I set it up using an AVR, TV and Comcast X1 box. The battery life is a little shorter than the Harmony 900 I had previous to this remote but doesn't present an issue. I also like the channel presets with icons for quick changing of channels. You can't go wrong with this remote!

This one is taking some time to get used to. We've adjusted the programming a few times. I do like that I have the Harmony app and can use my phone. I still wish our dog hadn't knocked the older square one off of the couch.

    Very Good; Occasional Bugs

The remote works well and is (relatively) easy to set up. Although the remote is capable of simultaneously controlling multiple devices with the press of a single button, it does not receive confirmation from each device that a command was carried out successfully. This means that occasionally a device might not receive signal and/or go out of sync with other devices. These errors are rare and easily fixable through the remote’s fix it myself feature. Another important thing to keep in mind is that automated features within each device such as ARC connections between TV and audio where one device powers and controls another can override the commands from the remote. It took a lot of trial and error to set up inputs/outputs within each device such that automated controls within each device were disabled. As I set the remote up, it was not immediately obvious that my TV was automatically changing input selections in a manner that overrode the command from the harmony remote. Eliminating device automation was not well covered in the instructions and I suspect many of the negative reviewers did not realize that individual device settings caused remote command functions to fail. Another minor complaint is the short battery life of the remote (2-3 days per charge), but this is a small price to pay for the simplicity and convenience of the remote.

A great remote but little instruction by Logitech

This remote is compact and powerful. I does everything I want with a reasonable amount of convenience. I am a Mac user and was worried about the ability to program this remote even though the software on my computer would not work with the Logitech software. To my surprise I learned that I didn't need the computer. Instead I was able to program my remote using the harmony app that I installed on my phone. Precious little information was given by Logitech but the procedure was easy to figure out. Bottom line is that this remote works perfectly and does everything that I could possibly want. Information on certain operations with this remote were not reveled by Logitech. Instead some things had to be discovered by trial and error. Some buttons behaved in different ways depending on whether they were held down or pressed rapidly more than once. Each activity has a sub menu that is reached by tapping on the white line of the activity. This menu can be edited by tapping on the edit button. I hated the gesture menu and was pleased that I could replace it with something more useful. Another important point is that all devices can be selected to get to almost any command that you could want at the time. The fact that you can edit the order of commands really helps and allows you can bring the ones that you often use to the top of the list. This really is a great remote but it requires work on your part to get it to be something that totally fits your needs. With a little work, however, you can get it to be the remote that you will be happy with.

I love this remote. One button functions to operate everything. I can power on my dish hopper, surround sound, tv, and change the input to the correct HDMI input with a single push of the button. Then do the same with my Xbox. Simple programming all the steps through the menu driven app on the computer.

This product is fantastic for turning on all devices at once. However the buttons are a bit small and difficult to read for us older folks. Also the touch screen where it displays watch tv and watch movie are so close together that sometimes you hit the wrong one. Other than that it is a great remote.

Great RF remote that came at a discounted price. This is my 3rd logitech which were all great quality and had them for a long time. This one comes with many updated features including our favorite which allows each member of our family (6) to use their phone app as the remote. We never lose the remote!

It is the answer to consolidation of numerous remotes used in the home theater, any gaming experience. It is sensitive to the touch and does not have to be pointing directly at the unit its used for. Too bad it isn't voice activated.

Best customizable remote on the market. Handles 6 of our devices as well as things like room fans, etc. Could be a little more responsive in the touchscreen (feels like outdated tech at times). Still a great product.

My husband insisted we NEEDED this universal remote, I thought old one was fine. This one is actually pretty nice. Plus is it is rechargeable. Minus is I keep forgetting to put it in the cradle to charge, but it charges very quickly. All in all I hate to admit it, but husband was right on this one

I have 7 different remotes which I have now been able to get into this Universal Remote. It's simple to set up, and it's even simpler to use. The rechargeable battery is a definite plus. The touchscreen makes using it extremely easy.
