Great remote but comes at a premium

Love the home controls and being able to turn off my smart lighting from the remote as well as set a tv backlight to come on with remote activities. A bit on the pricey side though.

Bottom line: a no-brainer if you want/need granular control of your HT and you're willing to invest the time to properly set up. The hardware is nice and the remote feels good in the hand and the button layout is conducive to one-handed use. The initial setup is quick and easy but to get the most out of it, be prepared to spend some time configuring your activities and the buttons. If you're not one who likes to futz around with your gear, then the "benefit ceiling" is pretty low. The defaults are functional but depending on your setup, they may not be sufficient, at least to justify the price. The software is good, however, the power is masked by a clunky interface which can be overwhelming. However, once you're comfortable, it all makes sense, which is good because some activities will take a fair amount of tweaking to get perfect. For example, if you're using eARC, then there'll probably be a fair amount of trial and error to get everything to turn on and respond correctly. Functionally, the only downside is the battery life. I get at most 3 or 4 days before it needs to be recharged. The included charger works well and it's not a big deal to charge, it would just be nice to get a week out of a charge. The price may turn off some and it is a big jump from prior models. But it's worth it, especially if you want it for ALL devices including things like Fire TV stick/cube that don't work with IR. And now that Logitech has announced they're discontinuing them, they're going to be difficult to find after the current stock sells out. I actually just purchased another one as a backup.

Easy to program and easy to use as it doesn't have a million buttons, the touch screen pops up the functions that you will want for the activity you are doing. Only complaint is low battery life, a week or less so keep the charger handy.

    Excellent Universal Remote

I’ve owned several Logitech remotes over the years, including a hub based remote, but the Elite is the best yet, with Alexa integration and an easy, if not time consuming setup process depending on your personal smart home requirements. I have been a huge fan of the ability to use a phone or tablet to set up and control devices connected to Logitech’s hub based remotes; the addition of the handheld backlit touchscreen remote + integration with Alexa devices are two more reasons to choose Logitech for whole-home control. Add the built-in control for IR, RF, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices and now there is no reason to look at another all-in-one system. Alexa can be a little slow or unresponsive at times to spoken commands, but it seems to be more of an Alexa issue than with the Logitech Harmony skill itself. I’ll be able to update that opinion after I’ve used it for a bit longer. There are innumerable scenes that can be created. My Phillips HUE light system works well with the remote, my phones and tablets. Your HUE lighting scenes are first synced through the Harmony app and then must be discovered again by Alexa to work properly through the Alexa app . Just need to go to the Alexa apps smart home skills and “discover more scenes” to make sure your Elite remotes settings are understood and properly triggered when telling Alexa to “Make Dinner” or on “Movie Night”. I also like being able to use Harmony’s app when I’m not home so I can check on or change status of devices. I can understand those who may find the setup process difficult, but when you consider how many remotes and primary apps this hub & remote replaces, it’s really very easy. A little time spent to get everything set up correctly in the beginning will save you tons of time controlling your home and prevent frustrating remote searches in the future. Bottom line is: the Elite replaces all of your unsightly and easily misplaced entertainment system remotes while giving you multiple user-friendly ways to replace them, and with far more functionality. It’s also a great way to end the cycle of explaining how to turn on the tv to the non-tech savvy people who may use your system!! It’s an even better value when it’s on sale!

I was looking for a device that would be easy to setup. Also wanted one that could communicate thru objects because my equipment is not in direct sight to where we generally sit.

My first Logitech remote -- I'd been thinking of buying one for a long time. This replaces five remotes for me (DirecTV, Home theater system, TV, Bluray and Xbox). Very happy with the performance after going through the setup process.

So happy to get rid of the 27 remotes that used to clutter up our end tables and get lost in the couch cushions. Now one remote controls everything and you really don't even need the remote you can just use the app from your phone.

Overall, the Logitech Universal Remote is excellent. It functions anywhere in the room. Much better then our previous Control 4 Remote. As a bonus, Ivan at the Geek Squad has done amazing job with a difficult installation. Awesome!

Great remote, everything works perfect. I have my tv, cable, PS3, DVD-VCR combo, CD stereo system running through this one remote. Best part, you don't have to point it at whatever your trying to operate. The hub picks up the signal from the remote.

I bought the Harmony Elite to replace a Harmony 900 that died after many years. Fortunately, the MyHarmony software is (1) better than the old software and (2) was able to import all the programming I had done for the old remote. Thus, all I had to do was make a few changes, some having to do with the fact that I had been in the midst of replacing a disc player when the old remote died. The new unit is much faster and more predictable than the old one and has fewer annoyances. The old hub doesn't work with the new unit, but the old blasters do. So, I didn't even have to go through snaking the new ones through my cabinet. I also haven't learned about what appears to be macro commands since all my previous programming had worked around their absence. One of these days, remotes will have two-way, reliable communications with the a/v components, and that will make things much easier. Disclosure: I am a computer professional. I cannot vouch either way for how non-programmers will find this device. My technology-resistant spouse finds this unit easier to use than the 900 (once programmed by me).

I have been using a Harmony remote on my primary system for years and been very happy. I recently embarked on setting up a new home theatre and purchased this new unit. I couldn't be happier. Very easy to set up and use. Works great

Although it is quite expensive I have found this remote to be quite good. Transferring the configuration from my old Harmony One went pretty smooth. Being able to use iPhones or iPads and not having to point the remote at the equipment is very nice.

Having had to replace a Harmony One that lasted me about 13 years, it was easy to transfer all my settings to the new remote. Small and easy intuitive controls makes this easy for anyone (even tech-challenged) to setup and enjoy.

This remote works well if you want to hide your devices. Only concerns are 1- involves lots of programming to work properly, 2- you have to touch the spots just right or it won't recognize the command, 3- if you inadvertently touch the screen, anything can happen. I guess it takes some getting used to. Also the letters and numbers are very small, hard to read. I think there are other products out there that may be just as good and easier to use.Probably less expensive too.

I bought this remote as a replacement remote from a harmony one remote. This remote does everything I need it to do. Works great. Love the touch screen and that I can also use my cell phone as a remote through the harmony app. I would recommend.

We upgraded from an older model Harmony remote to the Harmony Elite. There was definitely a learning curve on this one. However, we typically use the Harmony app on our iPhones and iPads rather than the remote itself, and the app works very well.
