Loses half a star for the cost, and the other half of a star for how unnecessarily difficult Alexa integration is. I feel this is more of an Alexa issue than a Harmony issue. When you have a firestick, Alexa wants everything to run through that. When you lose the Alexa issue this is a powerful and well-thought-out control system that can really turn a complex system into a manageable one even for those who are less than tech-savvy. Programming can go easy or at times be difficult to nail down and may take some trial and error. I wish the help function was more prominent for my older users to more easily find. Otherwise, the screen and backlit buttons are very helpful! I am giving ease of use a 5 for a remote that is well programmed. I would give it a 3 if just on ease of programming. I am savvy and programmed many Harmony. It can still be a chore depending on the Components. IP control and Harmony's recognition that CEC via HDMI can often cause problems too has helped.

So far I am cautiously happy with the remote, but not without a lot of frustration. This is my second remote, returned my first one. First remote worked good at first, but then after a week, the hub would no longer stayed connected to my wifi. I tried numerous times trying to reconnect the hub to no avail, tried a complete factory reset, still would not connect. nothing had changed with my wifi to cause the connection problems. Lots of frustration and wasted time trying to get the hub to reconnect. I threw in the towel, returned the first remote for an exchange of another Harmony Elite. Now with the replacement remote I haven't had any issues as of yet,(two weeks latter) knock on wood. This HE does a good job so far, some needed improvements would be, some tactile buttons to help with finger placement. Voice command, now a days a lot of devices use voice command, ie xfinity tv, sony tv etc. I really like the setup process via the Logitech website or even on the remote its self. It is a very easy process. The remote fits nicely in the hand,it has an anti slip material on the back which is nice. As of right now, not sure whether to recommend this HE, the jury is still out, I need time to make sure this replacement hub does not have any WiFi hiccups.

Always avoided the universal remote. Broke down for this one. So easy to use and the app is nice, but not necessary. Recommend Geek Squad to program it for you!

Needed to replace older version and liked the size and touch screen capability. However, as an 'older' user I really needed an instruction book for use (there is one for installation). The buttons are not intuitive. For example, what does a circle and a square do? Only what to find out is push and hope you don't screw something up. Also, operation in a cabinet has been hit and miss.

I had old Harmony, which finally died. A little reluctant to purchase due to price, but glad I did. Super easy setup as it imported old settings and then I made adjustments for new additions. Various options for setup with the Hub

I've used Logitech Harmonys for years, but recently acquired an Amazon Fire TV stick which can only be automated using Bluetooth and so upgraded to the Elite with the Smart Hub. In some resepcts this combo is simpler to setup, than predecessors. Using my phone as the setup tool didn't work out as expected and I ended up using the Harmony Windows software. Once all of my equipment (TV, U-verse, Pioneer AVR receiver, Fire TV stick, Blu-ray player) were all entered into the Harmony software, and the activities defined, the updating of the rules to the Hub and Remote worked fine. Everything works as expected except that something tells the AVR to change inputs to the Fire TV input regardless of the desired input. I've yet to figure out why this happens. It's simple to fix, just a nuisance that may or may not be related to the Harmony software. But mostly, this works very well. Through the Harmony phone software you can edit the instructions for each activity. I don't recall ever having access to editing the rules of the activities through the Windows software. Perhaps this is a new feature, or I just never went looking for it in the Windows software. Either way, it's a nice feature to have.

I've been a Harmony user for at least ten years and have personally witnessed incremental improvements in their products. The Harmony Elite follows this trend but definitely has some misses. Once set up, it works quite well and we love that we don't have to point the remote at our devices (hub solves that problem). But... For reasons that escape me, they now hide the 'Help' button in the settings menu on the remote. The help button is indispensable when one of your devices fails to turn on or off properly. It needs a dedicated button on the remote (as it used to be). They also push you to use the app based setup. I understand the desire to simplify things using apps but if you have a complex system, a computer based interface is far easier to use. Finally, and this is an issue with most universal remotes caused by device manufacturers, the remote can't read the state of the device. In a time where IOT can tell a remote whether a light is on or off, AV devices should be able to tell a remote whether they are on or off, what input they are using, etc. Overall, I would buy this again.

Oh my gosh, this little remote is better than sliced bread! We HATED the TWC remote and although I initially blanched at the price of the Logitech, it just makes everything so easy. Totally idiot-proof. Love it, love it, love it.

Very happy with this purchase, easy to program via the app and works seamlessly. Also won’t require Geek Squad service if it needs to be reprogrammed which is why I went with this instead of the URC X-7 or X-8

This remote is really more than just a remote. It gives you the ability of creating your home into a smart home. It communicates with all the wifi enabled smart products (thermostats, door locks, lights, etc) to work together.

    Harmy Elite Remote

It is unfortunate that Logitech is no longer producing the Harmony remotes, but thankfully Best Buy stil has some new stock. This is my second Harmony Elite. The first one was purchased in 2017 and was starting to show some loss of button responsiveness in the directional pad, which is very heavily used for some apps. No other remote on the market can do what these do, so getting a second one was the best choice for me. I have had several different harmony remote models over the past decades, and this has been the best of all of them. Programming is very easy (I use the desktop software), but the Harmony app is needed to pair the remote/hub with bluetooth devices. This is the only drawback to the remote in my opinion. It also controls devices that receive an IR signal, and I really appreciate that the remote sends bluetooth commands to the hub, and the hub relays these commands by resending both bluetooth and IR commands to the devices (IR is through the hub and two included emitters). This enables me to have all our devices behind closed doors in an actively ventilated cabinet. Like I mentioned, I don't know of any other remote that provides these capabilities.

I replaced an old Harmony with the Elite Hub. Setup in my browser, which was quick and painless, and now a PS3, Roku 3, and HTPC feed my projector, without a hiccup. Worked great first time, every time. Highest recommendation.

the overall remote has a better feel to it. They moved the touch screen to the top of the remote which solves the problem of acidental button pushes when reaching for the play ff rewind controls. Much better. Will buy again

I have owned several harmony remotes over the years and by far this is the best one so far. The set up was a breeze and was straightforward. It controls all my components and the ability to control home automation is a plus.
