I've been on the fence with a lot of the logitech remotes for a while. This is finally the one. I don't use it to control my home but it's great for my home theater set up.

Had several Harmony remotes in the past which were nice but this one is the best so far. Easy setup and work great with my Philips Hue lights as well. Highly recommended.

Does the job, difficult to use

Like previous Harmony remotes I've had (880 & 890) the setup worked perfectly although the instructions were unclear and not easy to follow. The remote does what it needs to do in terms of controlling all of my devices. Only complaint is poor ergonomics. The button layout is clumsy. Nothing is where it is expected and it's difficult to find the control functions. It's like Harmony went out of their way to move buttons to different locations than other remotes just to be different. It doesn't work. Also there is no tactile feedback to help orient your fingers and find often used buttons so you have to hunt for them every time. Remote also doesn't fit well in the hand unlike previous models. Difficult to move thumb to reach controls in one hand. Almost like it was designed for two hand operation. One holding the other pushing buttons. Very bad. Many programmed functions are on the touch screen which is too small and doesn't display much at a time requiring lots of scrolling to hunt for features.

Harmony Elite, good but not for big fingers

The Harmony Elite remote works well and is easy to program once the software is installed on your computer and you have a good list of all your A/V components. As the remote is communicating with the hub via a radio signal, the range of the unit is good enough for the largest room. My biggest complaint is that the placement of the "buttons", which are too close together for larger fingers. I find myself constantly hitting the (very sensitive) "activities" pad while scanning through commercials. The touch pad/screen can be a bit ornery at times, sometimes requiring a healthy jab to change channels. My cable channel 1001 is often a problem as I rarely get all four digits to respond well. Personally, I'd rather have real 0-9 button keypad to control the channels. Strangely the same touch pad can be very sensitive for other commands and screens. I have a more success if I use a stylus, although this slows the selection process. Overall the Elite does its job well, but the ergonomics could be improved.

This controls many of my devices

I had purchased this device in 2017 because I have many different devices for my entertainment system which resulted in having 5 different remote controls. Initially, I purchased this to centralize my devices to one remote. As I learned more about Harmony Elite, I am pleasantly surprised even 3 years later. This device controls all my entertainment devices including my Xbox and it also controls my Phillips Hue light strip in my living room and also my dinning room lights. Unfortunately this remote can only turn the lights on/off and dim. Changing colors requires the phone app. Recently, the remote for my GE wall a/c unit went out and before getting a replacement, I thought I would take a look at Harmony's directory just to see if by chance this can control that too. To my pleasant surprise this remote can control my wall a/c unit! This universal remote is pricey yet worth every penny! Harmony keeps an extensive database on many different devices including lights and a/c units! If you are considering purchasing, my recommendation is DO IT! You will be glad you made that investment.

    Does Not Work As Advertised

After reading glowing reviews of the remote on tech blogs, I was excited to purchase, setup and use my Logitech Harmony Elite. But boy oh boy is this piece of garbage riddled with issues: 1) App does not work. The app for the remote is awful. I was able to set up my Xbox, TV, and speakers (routed through my TV as per the Logitech recommendation). At a later point, I wanted to add my Nintendo Switch but the app fails to load my current remote configuration, thus I am unable to get to the screen to add a new device. So much for universal. 2) Fails to turn on/off devices. The remote frequently does not turn on or off my Samsung TV. I'm often left with being forced to use the Samsung TV remote to power on and off the device. 3) Support is awful. I've contacted Logitech's support to get issues resolved to no avail. They are beyond incompetent and useless. 4) Overall function is lacking. I've had remotes that allow me to adjust the volume, pause, rewind, and other basic functions without changing screens. But no, the UX designers really messes this one up - at least they are consistent with the rest of the departments responsible for this e-waste. Instead of an easy-to-use user interface, I am forced to switch to my Sonos speaker device to change volume, then need to go back to the menu and tap Xbox to control that device. It's a further waste of time and just overall terrible function and design. The takeaway: Purchase this device at your own risk. I would return it if given the option to do so. Heck, I want money back for the time this piece of technological waste has cost me. I expect so much better Logitech. Seriously, do better.

I had a two-year-old Harmony 950 remote and upgraded to this because I needed the IR blasters for my new equipment cabinet. But I had no idea how much both the remote and the setup have been improved! It's much more responsive and the hub really centralizes control of the system. Setting it up via the app on a phone is really quite easy and it checks each command as you enter it. It's easy to customize things or fix any problems literally while you're using the remote, and all your changes get saved. Changes made via the app get replicated to the phone automatically and vice versa. Just to be clear, this remote is not dependent on IR signals; instead it uses bluetooth to communicate with the hub, so you don't need line of sight to the hub or anything else for that matter. I have a relatively complex system with a Denon AVR-X4400H receiver and this remote is fully up to the task of controlling that very complex piece of equipment. Only with this remote have I been able to fully control many of the functions it has.

When our first Harmony controller wore out, we were given a Harmony Elite to replace it. We use it in place of five separate device controllers and love it! We had one horrible problem tho. Every time we lost power and cable was down, hubby had to rebuild the settings. Got old but it was doable until Logitech decided there was something sinister going on and refused the attempts to reset our controller. Apparently there was an issue with our Sonos speaker setup that was not cooperating with the controller. Hubby talked to Logitech and was told nothing could be done. We had a $300 paper weight. Miraculously, with one last attempt to restore the settings, hubby was able to make the controller work —right after we bought its replacement! We were able to use the temperamental controller at our other home where we DONT have Sonos speakers, and I am wondering why we took so long to replace four devices up there! It is an expensive item, but we love it enough to, without hesitation, buy a replacement when we thought our other one was permanently out of commission.

This is a very easy-to-use remote. Very logical. The only downside is that it needs recharging often if used a lot, eg, do a lot FF or channel surfing.

Great remote that was recommended to us by our in-home Best Buy consultant, however it is a lot more sophisticated than our previous universal remote. We are not afraid of technology and use it daily with the latest phones and equipment at work, however this remote for us was not very intuitive. We did not have an instruction manual and could not find one online either which made it an annoying battle of trial and error. We came very close to returning it (and actually used the remotes that came with our equipment for a while), however with more and more use we now love it. We were told to not keep it in the charger when not in use and to charge it once per week, however it clearly needs charged more often, but that is not inconvenient as long as you have planned for a place to plug the charger in! We wish that we did have a manual because I am certain that there are features that we are not aware of.

Having used the old style Logitech Harmony (which worked really well after programing) I was hoping it would be easier to program. I got my wish! While not perfect in programming, I used my previous knowledge for the Harmony remote to smooth some of the initial issues that the program didn't work perfectly. Part of the initial problem was related to the les than detailed instruction manual - which was difficult to find and use. Now, I am a happy camper and the new remote is much more reliable that the old Logitech 880. Also, when I need to push the help button (not on the face of the remote), it turns equipment on and off the way it should. I wonder if the help button "learns" and makes subtle corrections. It if doesn't, it should. One other thing - I purchased the Harmony remote to replace a Savant Pro Smart Series in our media room which is proprietary only works when an installer comes for a house call which is $100 per visit until they get it right. If you are a do-it-yourselfer, the Harmony Elite is great and you can get help to program it yourself.
