I needed a new keyboard quickly for a new project computer. I prefer the feedback and "clickiness" of mechanical keyboards but the prices for most are just not what I'm willing to pay for a keyboard. This hits the sweet spot of responsiveness, build quality, and price. I like the key feedback and it is easy to type on.

Everything does not work. Logitech no help

The construction of the keyboard is good and the aluminum materials in it give it a quality feel. Also the keys give nice mechanical feedback and sound and travel. However, there is software you download from Logitech to enable you to customize some of the keys and I found the software to be totally incompatible with this keyboard and/or my totally up to date windows 10 system. The software was TOTALLY useless and therefore I am unable to access the customizable features of my keyboard. I contacted Logitech and they were responsive but in no way did they solve the problem or make the software work in any way. The software DOES NOT even recognize this keyboard. The techs seemed to be unaware of how this worked and finally they stopped communicating. I would normally return this product, and Best Buy is good about returns, but the keyboard basic function is fine and I do like the mechanical feel so who knows. But I would not recommend it. PS I have many other Logitech products that all worked flawlessly over many years so this keyboard/software issue is a real surprise and a one off.

This keyboard is built tough and is satisfying to type on, if you like the clickity-clack. Also has a more professional appearance without the typical RGB lighting

Backlights are starting to fail after 2 years.

I've owned this keyboard for about 2 years, and it still performs admirably. I type a LOT every single day and is has been very reliable. However, I am disappointed in the individual key backlights. They have started to fail at an alarming rate. I just noticed 1 was out about a month ago, and now the total is up to five. They key labels are very hard to read once the light goes out. Even though I am a touch typist, I must use the letter "P" to establish my HOME position and I really miss it!

I recently bought this to use in my home office / studio setup and I couldn't be happier with this keyboard. For the price it offers a great mechanical keyboard experience that is comfortable to type on for hours without issues. The backlighting is plain white and looks really professional if being used in an office setting. Using the function key you have the ability to manipulate the brightness, volume, and other computer functions. This keyboard has some heft to it as it is built out of a mix of thick plastic and an aluminum chassis. The only thing slightly abnormal about K845 is the font used on the keycaps, some of the symbols are a little odd looking. I highly recommend this keyboard for anyone wanting to use it for professional or even gaming use.

Good For The Price

Good keyboard for the price. Keys feel really good and aren't super clicky (I chose Brown Switches.) The keys feel comfortable and give a good feeling when pushed so I know I pushed a key.
The backlighting is just what I needed. Mostly you just see the characters lighting up, but there is a bit of light underneath. The face plate is a silver color that spreads the light so it isn't intense beneath the keys.
I don't know who would need some of these lighting effects. The only one I really care for is the one that lights up each key you press, but the others are neat for a few seconds. Also, like others have mentioned, the Scroll lock/Num lock/Caps lock lights cannot be dimmed and are pretty intense. I think that's the only thing I dislike about this.
The keys all have a custom font, which doesn't make them look too different from normal, but adds a bit of style.

Competent Mechanical Keyboard for Business

Very good business aesthetic with decent feeling switches. If you're looking for a budget mechanical keyboard, especially if you're interested in gaming, you'd be better off waiting for sales on EVGA, Razer, or Corsair keyboards as they'll usually drop down to a similar price and will be equipped with higher quality switches. That being said, for someone who's interested in something that's more professional-looking and don't mind slightly cheaper feeling switches, this is a pretty competent alternative.
They keyboard is plasticky and has moderate flex, but isn't so cheap and brittle that it'd snap if you dropped it from chest height.
The switches feel very similar to their Cherry MX counterparts with maybe a bit more wobble, but the unit I purchased has a bit more tactility if you're comparing the Brown switches. Unsure about longevity, though.
Keycaps are thin and cheap feeling, but that's the case with most off-the-shelf keyboards regardless of price. Backlit LEDs shine through well, though, for those intending to type in the dark.

I am not good with the keyboard so I had to get some help with this one. Now I think it is really nice with the lit keyboard. I had trouble seeing the letters on the old one. This one makes typing easy and now my eyeballs do not get tired.

A dream keyboard for fast typists

For those who like an old fashioned keyboarding experience, this keyboard could be the One! It has all of the keys we got used to in the old days on windows computers and windows keyboards. The action is smooth and responsive. It is an excellent choice for fast typist. Because it is mechanical, it does make a sound. Those who grew up with typewriters will like that. It is a plug and play device that works well and has a familiar keyboard key arrangement.
Pros: it is responsive so that a person can type really fast; the layout is comfortable; it has all of the standard keys; The installation is as simple as plugging it into a USB port. keys are a good size, and touch typist will have no problem using this keyboard.
Cons: None! This is a dream keyboard

Purchased this for office use - I'm a light typer and the overall noise is good. Could be too loud for cubicle area, but if solo in an office, this is a great choice. Quality is excellent, and the lighting isn't too bright which is nice. Had some compliments with the visuals on it.
Only "negative" is that it is a wired keyboard. Also doesn't come with wrist rest, but after buying one, is is awesome.
Tip - i bought "super lube" from amazon, and a keycap puller, and have lubed every key. Not only is it quieter, man, does it type silky smooth.
Quality of the keyboard is excellent, mx cherry red is the way to go for office use.

It's not an ergonomic keyboard, but it's perfect if you don't need an ergonomic keyboard. It may not have the fanciest switches, but I wouldn't know any better because it's my first mechanical keyboard. The fit and finish is a step up from most regular keyboards imho. The LEDs are nice but a little annoying. I wish there was one more gradation between the lowest brightness setting and off, but it's fine. Cable is long, keys are good, and it's weighty in a nice way.
