I have had other Logitech products like this and none of have ever gone bad. My problem with them is I misplace the wireless insert instead of placing it back in the intended cradle within the mouse when not in use.

That means I had to waste a 2nd USB port, which was on the back, so I also had to add a little USB extension cord to get it around to the front. I can only assume this inability to pair/unify is a corporate greed trick designed to make you purchase a more expensive mouse. Nice job, Logi.
