It works on either and is not going to get broken easy. The underappreciated function is the hidden USB port inside the mouse.

One for nearly every member of my family. There are different high quality colors and we have purchased three different mouse sizes to fit different size hands. None of these have failed yet and are used daily. The connector fits HP, Dell and Chromebook type laptops. They are quiet and are sensitive enough to work on variable surfaces.
