This did the trick (assuming it lasts me for a while now that I have it) and seems to work fine.

This fits my needs, and so far, it has performed flawlessly with solid clicking action. My preference is the Logitech 'blue marble' wireless trackball, but they don't even last a year unlike the original 'red marble' wired mouse which was discontinued long ago... please bring it back, Logitech!
