They do have to be replaced every few years, but we replace them with a new Logitech. This one is comfortable for my husband's large hands.

The remote USB connection is small and could get lost which would be a shame. I use it on an Surface Pro 4 which has only one full size and one mini USB port. Consider purchasing a multi-port USB device as a plug-in if you need to connect other devices. I considered a mouse that can lay flat in a case that I purchased for the Surface Pro but liked the feel of this mouse and so made a small sacrifice. Also, cannot quarrel with the low price.

Blue Lace Mouse

I have been using the mouse for 2 weeks for chunks 4 hours and it has been problem free and more comfortable in my palm. I would recommend this mouse highly.
