I did not want to spend the money for the apple mouse and noticed they used a regular mouse in my Best Buy store. It works great and saved me money. Fortunately my dog thought it was a little too tough to eat saving me from buying another. You can hardly see the teeth marks.

This one was not only very inexpensive, but looks nice, fits his hand perfectly, and works very well. It doesn't skip or freeze and scrolls smoothly. Plug in the tiny usb and go.

So even when I travel, I have the convenience and comfort of a regular mouse, instead of one of those small travel mice.
