Well there was damage to the mouse and cable. It is functional but still damaged.

I am disappointed with the new one. The new scroll mechanism will randomly scroll or roll backwards after spinning which is unbelievably frustrating. You can't leave the wheel in "hyper" mode without it scrolling during regular mouse movement. Also, the whole scroll wheel assembly flops around and makes a plastic-y noise while you are moving the mouse. It makes the mouse seem incredibly cheap. I never had these issues with the old one, even after years of heavy use. I was luckily able to replace the scroll wheel assembly with the old one but it was annoying to have to tear up the mouse feet on a new mouse to open it up. I can't recommend this mouse and there unfortunately aren't many options with hyper scrolling. Logitech needs to stop cheaping out with this mouse or implement hyper scroll in higher quality mice besides the transformers looking "gamer" mouse. ...or allow companies to license the patent for less money.

Posted .Hello Evan, Very sorry to hear about the issue you're having with the hyper scroll on the M500s. Logitech does have other mice with hyper scrolling that aren't gaming mice. We returned to the old days and this works just fine. I miss not having to connect it in the front and having to install in back of computer. That's why the 3, not for reliability.
