You don't have to worry about the rubber piece falling off the scroll wheel. I was trying to save some money by purchasing cheaper mice over the last few years for my wife but the cheap mice, including Microsoft mice, kept having the rubber piece fall off the scroll wheel. The forward and back buttons on the left side of the mouse work very well. I have been using Logitech mice for nearly thirty years. Logitech = consistent quality in my opinion.
