I absolutely love this mouse!! I have rather large hands and the ergonomics of this mouse make it very comfortable to use for long periods of time with no fatigue in my hand or wrist. The buttons are easy to press and provide great tactile feedback. I especially like the smooth scrolling function and the multi tasking button on the side. Being able to customize each button to perform a specific task is another great feature. I have been using it for over a month now from 6-9 hours per day and the battery life hasn't decreased at all. I wouldn't mind if Logitech added dark field capabilities but it's not that big of a deal to me. Can't say enough good things about this mouse. If you are in the market for a wireless mouse look no further than the M705, you won't be disappointed!

This mouse is excellent. With AA batteries, it lasts much longer than previous AAA battery systems. There is an odd problem I have found with this product, namely that the side padding tends to separate from the body of the mouse. I use a small piece of double stick tape and the problem is completely resolved - but this is a surprising shortcoming in design. That said, this mouse is so good, I just purchased a second for my wife who needed a replacement - she is delighted.

Logitech mice are always a good choice for quality construction and usability and this model is no different but what I really like about it is the ability to change from the typical scroll mouse to a free rolling scroll by clicking on the release button just behind the scroll wheel. This is great for scrolling through long lists whether it's an Excel spreadsheet, a long list of emails or scrolling through all your music. It's the reason I bought this mouse. Once you experience the free wheeling scroll you will feel handcuffed with a normal mouse. It also has 2 programmable buttons on the left side in easy reach of your thumb. It's a good size, not too small for my large hands. Nothing bad to report on this item although it's a bit pricey.

While this isn't a high-end ergonomic mouse or one used for gaming, this model is perfect for daily office use. I know longer have to worry about a chord. And my hand fits comfortably over the mouse. The two side buttons allowing for easy toggling between web pages is a terrific feature along with the button below the wheel that adjusts scrolling speed. Upgrading from my now retired $8.00 mouse was great idea. One doesn't need to splurge on a high end mouse if the use is only daily scrolling and navigating web pages and documents.

This is a nice mouse i like how it fits in my hand. The page back and page forward buttons are a nice touch. The page scrolling wheel has 2 settings allowing for slow scrolling or fast scrolling. When you want to get back to top of the page you can unlock the wheel and with one spin zoom back to the top.

Perfect Mid-Sized Mouse

The MX Master was too big. The MX Anywhere was too small. Despite its age, the Logitech M705 remains the best mid-sized mouse for the everyday user. The size of the M705 allows for it to operate as a travel mouse or permanent fixture and the extended battery life means I don't have to recharge all the time, as comes with MX series mice. Because of the continued reliability and comfort that this mouse provides, my Radiology group has opted to use the M705 at all workstations around the area. Free scroll is a must for my radiologists and the design of the mouse allows for all grip styles.

Wanted to try this mid-priced Logitech design before committing to the high-end model (separate review). Comfortable in the hand and good precision for wireless. Battery life not an issue as the "marathon" designation perfectly describes the battery longevity. Nice feature to be able to "unlock" the wheel at the touch of a button for quick scrolling and then go right back to the 'clicky' wheel >> both of which have their uses and good to be able to use both at will. The overall performance of this model had me going out to get the luxury 'MX Master' model after a couple of weeks of use.

Actually bought this for a gift for my a family member, I've been using the same one at my new job in HR for about 6 months now. Haven't needed to change battery and the mouse has worked great. It fits nicely in your hand and the ability to do fast scrolling with the mouse wheel when it's in a free spin mode comes in handy when I'm working with regulations that are 100+ pages long. Keep an eye out on its price, goes on sale regularly, Twice I've bought it at full price and was able to go back and get half my money back with price matching Best Buy's deal prices.

The Logitech M705 mouse does everything as advertised. The programmable buttons are handy for repetitive tasks. It fits in your hand and makes using it a long time a great experience. This mouse comes with a battery that should last 3 years. Very accurate and allows you to speed along on webpages or documents.

Can't really go wrong with a Logitech, but this thing is awesome for the price. 6 buttons (left, right, wheel click down, fwd/back buttons, and a hidden one on the side below the thumb). I am using it on a Mac and was plug and play for the basic functions (point, left and right click, and scroll). Had to install the software in order to program and use all the other buttons. I also like how the scroll wheel will allow for side to side scrolling as well. Battery life so far is amazing. Been on every day all day for a few months and isn't showing low battery yet.

Wonderful Workplace Wireless Marathon Mouse

I purchased this mouse to replace the rope-a-dope $20 mice they were providing me at work. For not much more than that, I got a nice wireless mouse (that hasn't run out of batteries since purchase so far). The Marathon has a great feel and heft in hand, which lends to a good impression of high build quality (I'm not taking it apart to verify though). I appreciated the very small size of the wireless dongle (it protrudes about 4 mm), I left it plugged into the side of my laptop for several weeks, and it never caught on anything.
The primary right, middle, and left buttons have a nice tactile response. I feel the forward/back buttons on the side of the mouse are slightly small and hard to hit, but not enough such that I feel that it requires deducting points for the mouse's design. The infinite scroll feature on the mouse-wheel is great when navigating large data structures, and even when in normal mouse-scroll mode, the wheel has a great weight and feel to it.
Since I use this mouse at work, I can't really speak to it's gaming performance, but I would say that I generally prefer a mouse with a larger size and shape for gaming purposes. As the Marathon mouse is nominally targeted at mobile usages, its size is slightly smaller than a "standard" size mouse.
Overall, I find using this mouse to be a huge step up in experience over the previous mice I was using at work. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a compact, long-lasting wireless mouse.

We have used the Logitech M705 since it was new. When my husband's wore out, I bought him several other model numbers and brands, and he hated them all. When I saw this on sale I bought two.
This is the only mouse I have found (except for the Logitech VX Revolution - laptop mouse) that will allow all of the buttons to be programmed to my liking. It is an ergonomically pleasing, high performance mouse. The size is average - not big or small. It's comfortable for both of us. I also bought one for my mother who is in her 80's.

I love how easy this mouse is to use and how comfortable it is. I had one at work and decided to get the same one for my laptop at home as well. I like that the size of this mouse is a little smaller than some of the more expensive ones so it travels well, but it's not as small as a laptop mouse and has more features. I really like being able to switch the scroll wheel between clicking or rolling freely by touching the top button. I do wish they had the thumb scroll wheel on this mouse like they have on one of their more expensive ones for zooming, but that is pretty minor. Overall, this mouse is comfortable, easy to customize, and durable.

The Logitech M705 Marathon mouse has about 8 different functions and most of them are programmable or you can just disable a function if you prefer, thru the driver software. I disabled the three buttons that are in the area of my right thumb, I am right handed...so I did not accidentally hit them, while I was getting use to the mouse. The one feature I really like on this mouse is the option to have a "free wheeling" scroll wheel. You can click on the button just behind the scroll wheel and toggle the scroll wheel so it is "free wheeling" and smooth with no feeling of "detents" and is extremely fast or you can use the same button to toggle it to create the familiar "detent" scroll wheel feel which also tells the scroll wheel to move just the number of lines you have set it for (within the driver software) to move in the scroll area...3 lines per detent is usually the default. Sometimes in free wheeling mode the area scrolled will drop (scroll) back down somewhat when you are trying to stop the scrolling motion and you have to move the scroll wheel up a little more to position it back to where you wanted it, but when you get used to the sensitivity of the movement on the scroll wheel it is acceptable. I love the free wheeling mode when I am 10 or twelve pages down in an article or reading reviews and I what to get back to page one I just give that wheel a sharp finger flick and away it goes, no more pawing at the scroll wheel moving the usual defaulted three lines at a time. But if I need or want the detents back...I just press the toggle button...quick and easy !
