I have the same ones assigned to me for work, and those are on the fritz, but who knows how old they are or how well they were cared for before me. These, new out of the box, are perfect. They do have a moderate-loud clicking and typing sound, which I find soothing but others might not like

I would recommend if you are somewhat of a superuser to purchase a silicon keyboard cover to preserve the letters of the keyboard unless you are a type by touch person. Even if you aren't it protects your keyboard from dust build up and spills. This is my second time purchasing this particular one. The other still works I just use it for the work computer.

Having no wires really makes the room look clean. Battery life is dependant on how much they are used. We use them 5 days a week and 8+ hours a day. We still do not need to replace batteries that often. It used at home, I believe the batteries would last a long time.
