The mouse worked but in a weird way. Now it's a month later and both the mouse and keyboard do not function. I put a different wireless system in and it works perfectly.. I believe the unit that plugs into the computer is defective.

I apologize for the difficulties that you have experienced with your MK540 mouse and keyboard combo; I would like to help. If you have not already done so, please check your computer for system and driver updates. Also, please download the Logitech "Options" software for customization, updates and best performance. If you are still experiencing these issues, please run the Logitech "Firmware Update Tool" where you can check for updates. Please also restart your computer. If you are still experiencing issues, I would recommend reestablishing the connection between the keyboard/mouse and USB receiver, which can be done through the Logitech "Unifying" software. I have attached a link to the MK540's "Getting Started" page where you will find product guides, software downloads, and further support. I hope these suggestions are helpful and that you will enjoy your MK540 mouse and keyboard combo.
